Our heater went out, and we had to find a company to repair it. Two companies came out; one couldn't figure out the issue, and the other said it was the circuit board and quoted us over $900. I looked up our unit paperwork and found the warranty information. Thank goodness it was still under warranty. The manufacturer warranty website listed three companies near us. My husband contacted two of them: one was out of town and the other never called back. I contacted the third company, Value Heating & Air, through their website and left a voicemail. The technician Mike came out and did a thorough diagnosis. He determined the issue was the gas valve and main control board. The parts had to be ordered directly from the manufacturer, which took about two weeks. In the meantime, we used space heaters. Today, they came back and installed the part. Since it was under warranty, we only had to pay $250 for labor and the price was very reasonable. Mike was professional, knowledgeable, and completed the job quickly. I called and left a message late Friday night and Jeff reached out to me on Saturday morning and helped me troubleshoot and explain potential issues over the phone. Value Heating and Air installed a whole air conditioner/furnace unit in 2018. My home air conditioner stopped blowing cold air on Memorial Day 2021, the first scorching day of this year. We left a message for Maritza, and she returned our call promptly. I figured we'd be sitting in the heat for a week, but she told me, "Mike will be able to drop by tomorrow between 12-2:00 PM." Upon hanging up, I immediately received a text from Mike confirming our appointment. Indeed, he showed up the next day at 1:00 PM, mask on. He turned on the air conditioner to cool from the thermostat, walked outside, and said, "the compressor isn't kicking in." He ran a quick test and determined the capacitor was faulty and needed replacing, which he already had in his pocket. He installed the capacitor, had cold air blowing, and paperwork in my hand in less time than it took me to write this review. On top of that, I was ready and willing to pay for this excellent service when Mike told me it was a warranty part, and the service was free of charge. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Jeff, Mike and Jerrod at Value Heating and Air. Jeff was highly recommended by a family member and since my usual HVAC person was not available we called Jeff. We knew we would need a new system as our old one was over 25 years old and Jeff explained how his team could install a new and highly rated system at a very competitive price. This was the week in mid July the hottest time of the year and although they were very busy they scheduled us and had us running in no time. Jeff also helped design and include a special system of UV light as well as a MERV filter to keep the system clean and microbe free. This would have been a lot more expensive otherwise. I don't write many reviews, but felt compelled to do so in this case. On the basis of a referral from a friend, I contacted Value Heating & Air as the ancient A/C condenser at my mom's house konked out during a stretch of 100+ degree days. She's 88 and suffering from dementia, so it was imperative that this situation be resolved quickly. The next day, Jeff came out and assessed the situation -- he agreed with that the condenser (which dated from the 70s!) was toast and needed to be replaced. In less than a week, his crew out at her house installing the new unit. Their professionalism can't be overstated -- they navigated some challenging obstacles to get the new unit into place, without disturbing anything, and did a bang-up job with the install. When they left, everything was cleaned up, leaving no trace that they were there, other than a gleaming new condenser that works great. Jeff even went so far as to order a unit that matched the brand of the existing (indoor) air handler -- how great is that?? After having bad experiences with so many HVAC companies, it's truly a pleasure to finally deal with one that is committed to great customer service, and expert knowledge of the field. They are very professional to work with and with no hassles. We called them on Wednesday for an estimate and they came the same day and provided an estimate the next day (Thursday). We called back on Friday with our option and they said they would call back on Monday after calling their vendor to ensure the vendor had a unit. They called back on Monday as they said they would and scheduled us for Wednesday at 7am. They came at 7am and completed the job by noon. The was price reasonable. They did not sell up more than you need nor did they price gouged us saying metal has increased 40% because of COVID in the last two weeks. The bonus is they cleaned up after themselves. Value Heating and Air has been my HVAC maintenance/servicer for the last two years. One of the best family referrals I've received. I had an issue with my Trane not generating heat. Mike came out and thoroughly diagnosed the issue. It was a valve and possibly the compressor that would need to be replaced which could be costly. We both agreed I should call my home warranty. I called American Home Shield and they assigned South Placer Heating and Air who came up with the same diagnosis. No issue with the technician. The problem is with how South Placer Heating and Air does business. It doesn't seem like they care about a long term business relationship, just how much they can milk from the customer. The valve and labor was covered by AHS. What pissed me off is that South Placer wanted to charge me $950 for 10lbs. of refrigerant the unit required. This price also includes the $10 discount AHS gives towards each pound of refrigerant. The customer has to pay the difference. I asked South Placer if they would work with me on the price of the refrigerant and according to the person I was speaking to, the owner said the answer was no. What also irritated me is it took 5 days to get any information on the status of a possible repair. Ball was dropped somewhere with AHS. This is where Value Heating and Air separates itself from the competition. I spoke to Jeff and Mike immediately and explained the situation I was in. Jeff gave me two options. They could replace the valve but the compressor might have an issue later. Keep in mind, AHS only replaces one part at a time. Each part has to fail for them to replace. That means more time wasted with them. And this the first time in two years having to use AHS. The second option was to replace the condenser (Trane). He recommended Goodman and gave me a very reasonable estimate with a good warranty. After I added up what South Placer would receive from me and AHS if they were to complete the repair not including the compressor, I decided with the Goodman. After I confirmed with Jeff to move forward with the new install, he and Mike had the unit ordered, installed, and running within two days from when I talked to them. The house was heated to what we're normally used to in no time and much quieter. Thank you Jeff and Mike for thinking of the customer before putting profit first. I would recommend them to anyone for any HVAC needs. read more

I generally don't post much stuff, but I felt compelled to share a review for Value Heating & Air. On Monday about 2pm, I called Value Heating & Air because our AC stopped working. I knew it was going to be a blazing week and I needed help fast. The service man Jeff Goto told me it would probably be Wednesday before he could get to Us. But he assured me he would call me back by 8pm that night to confirm. About 6pm, Jeff called and said I can come by right now if you like. He came by and within 15 minutes he had the problem solved. It was a bad fuse. It had blown so bad that it fried the housing. He said that his crew would have to come back in a couple of days to fix it, but the new fuse should do the trick until then. The next day the fuse blew again. Within a few hours, he had his crew there to replace the fuse box. They were so diligent, polite and friendly, I felt compelled to share their services with others. And then on top of that, later in the evening Jeff called us to check up on the AC. It really is satisfying to know that their are great service people who know what they are doing and who really care. So if you have any AC or heating issues, give them a call. My evaporator coil has a leak. Multiple technicians came out and confirmed. I have multiple quotes . I decided to hire value heating and air owner Jeff gota in Sacramento bec of good reviews and their price quote was way below that of the other contractor from Roseville,Lincoln, Rocklin area. My evaporator coil still has a warranty but there was a challenge getting it bec the manufacturer was out of supply bec of a pandemic. Me and Jeff have been in contact several times when the evaporator coil is available especially with the heat wave. Jeff promised me that he will follow up the company every time. With his effort and patience his team installer michael and carlos finally replaced the evaporator coil. It's worth the wait and I'm very glad I hired value heating and air.
