Apparently the gentlemen at the front desk was wrong when he said the visit would be covered by my blue cross blue shield insurance. I called Julie in billing to see why the bill was so high, and she said this is what they charge first time patients. If I'd known the excessive charge I would have went elsewhere. The strange thing was that there were signs all over the office with the prices of office visits for people without insurance, and I get a bill for 3 times more than the prices posted on their walls. Now Care needs to be more transparent with their pricing. And Julie in billing could have easily fixed this, but decided to do nothing.

The employees are sometimes a little short and not super friendly because they're going so fast through everything but they do a fantastic job at pricking you. I'm bad with needles and they make it easy and as painless as possible. If you're paying out of pocket and want to save some cash, pro tip: look up the tests online beforehand (great that they have the prices online now) and make sure they are the cheapest option. Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren't, so I go here for the cheaper tests and go elsewhere for the ones they are more expensive for. Would recommend for sure!

If you have a question for your doctor, you can't directly contact your doctor. You're forced to go through some convoluted robo-menu that seems purposely designed to do anything but allow you to contact your doctor. When I finally got to an operator, she asked me what my question for the doctor is. *None of her goddamned business* is what my question for the doctor is. You have to be constantly ON these people to get meds filled or a question answered. I'm sure this ridiculous mode of patient to doctor communication has lead to a lot of needless suffering and possible death. It's absolute garbage and should be criminalized. If it's not a dire emergency, I'd urge anyone with a health-issue to seek treatment elsewhere. We will be driving to a smaller town that somehow has better quality of care and doctors you can actually contact on the phone. I pray someone else buys this hospital and cleans its filthy mess.
