When we arrived around 4:00 PM on July 23, the front desk could not locate our reservation for two rooms, and we had to search our emails before it could be found. We also learned the hotel no longer had a pool, despite one being advertised when we booked. We specifically chose this hotel because our nephew loves to swim. After checking in, my sister and I found our beds appeared to have been previously used. Instead of providing clean sheets, we were moved to another room but did not receive it until about 7:00 PM. Our parents also had to change rooms because the electric blinds would not close. The replacement room had poor airflow and a window completely fogged from condensation between the glass panes. Checkout on July 27 was even more frustrating. We were told we owed $50 despite only charging about $18 in bottled water. The front desk employee was courteous, but the manager, Amanda Deen, refused to speak with us and instead had the employee repeatedly relay messages. The balance then changed from $50 to $18, and we were told to pay an additional $13. After spending 30-45 minutes trying to resolve the issue, we paid simply to leave. The manager only came out after my sister stated that it was unacceptable for a manager to avoid speaking directly with guests during a billing dispute. As we were leaving, another guest reported her duvet was also dirty, reinforcing our concerns about the hotel's housekeeping standards. While the front desk employees were polite, the reservation confusion, misleading pool advertisement, housekeeping concerns, room maintenance problems, billing confusion, and lack of management support made this stay far below the standards we expect from a Hampton Inn.

The pool is outdoors, and thus I cannot comment on that, given we stayed in the middle of winter. We ran out of toilet paper and called and asked for some and they never sent any up. I had to track down a cleaning lady and ask for more. The room was spacious enough and it's really close to Kirkland for the LDS sites. They say IHG prides itself on cleanliness but this was not happening in this hotel-you can read prior reviews with the same issue. Beds were comfortable except for sofa bad. We were in room 422. Hopefully it's just this room.

The front desk said it would be fixed the next day but it wasn't and it remained broken the remainder of my trip. Additionally, during my four day stay my room was cleaned and made up ONCE! The breakfast included was nothing fancy (served 6-10am daily) but a decent selection of coffee/juices, pastries, hot/cold cereals, yogurts, waffle maker, eggs and tasty bacon. The dining area had cozy seating, a tv, was exceptionally clean and well stocked by a friendly attendant. In fact all the staff were pleasant, helpful and very accommodating. They do allow pets for a small fee and have a small area to walk them adjacent to the side of the hotel. As well as an outdoor table and grill. When we were there on a Sunday some gentleman had a fire going while listening to the Browns game. The jacuzzi in our room was a great size for two, hot, plenty of bubbly jets, glass holders and very clean. The room was tidy, spacious, nicely decorated, included a microwave, safe, coffee maker, plus a good sized and well-cooled fridge. The heater/AC/fan in our room worked perfectly and the tv was new and placed well. Plenty of lights, Wi-Fi, plugs and USB connections too. For a not too far from home special night away or a well needed rest from your travels we definitely recommend this hotel.

When I booked I was told $113 for the reservation but they charged my card for $130 and stated there were two additional tax charges. I've never been charged tax for an occupancy fee. The worst part of this is that not only are the carpets unsafe, there is green nasty stuff all over the walls in the pool area, plaster falling from the ceiling, and a giant hole in the ceiling with a tarp over it! My 3 year old granddaughter tripped on the large wrinkles in the carpet. When I tried to address it with the staff (to see it they could put some sort of rug over it for safety) I was told to call on Monday to talk to a manager. I called and no manager to talk to. The lady I spoke with said, "the place is old and repairs are slow to take place". I let her know that I want a manager to return my call as this place was far from worth $130 for 1 night.
