I have to admit that I was disappointed that Value Village has followed Goodwill's suit and started pricing items more expensive than if you got them at Ross. While I do find this store to be clean and organized, almost everything was more than I would want to pay at a thrift store. However; once at the register, the 3 items I purchased (that were not unreasonably priced) were another 25% off. That was a very nice surprise. I also have NEVER seen a Halloween costume selection like the one they have, outside of a Halloween superstore. It's incredible! The prices weren't all that unreasonable either. All and all, I left happy about my purchases and will be back the next time I have something specific in mind, that I don't mind being gently used. read more

Value Village is one of my favorite thrift stores. They are not as cheap as some, but they are not too expensive and what they have is generally in good shape and worth the price. Their selection of clothes for kids and adults, other than maternity, is vast; even maternity isn't tiny, but somewhat more limited. There's also books, toys, kitsch, furniture, etc.... Went there because I was notified of my stolen stuff being at this store and when I went there and found a lot of my things I asked the manager to help me collect it to take it back they said I needed a police report so the next day I went back and put a sign on everything that was legally mine saying not for sale this is stolen and belongs to as I put my name and left the next day I called talked to the manager and asked if everything that had a sign on it was taken down and put to the side they said let me go check and came back and said they could not find anything very angry with this store completely terrible and heartbroken thanks a lot Tigard. Where's the value in this thrift store? I sure didn't see it. Ugg boots: $69.99. Coach purse: $49.99. Basic heels with plenty of wear: $14.99. Lower end Frye boots: $29.99. Target brand bra: $10.99. I put some stuff in my cart but in the end I was so appalled and disgusted by the pricing that I left everything and walked out, never to return. UPDATE: this place is still great. I find so many cool art and decorative things here. The knit vintage blankets are soooo cheap! 4.99?! Similar blankets at goodwill go for 10$, the prices here so so reasonable! And the art is well organized. ALSO YES, they charge 10 cents for paper bags. BECAUSE THEY'RE AGAINST WASTE. A lot of other organizations do this state wide. If you ask for a reusable bag, they give it to you for FREE. Just ask! I forgot my bag, and they gave me a reusable one: this place is a gem! This place is awesome! I finally got a chance to check this place out and was pleasantly surprised by the organization and the selection. I found a lot of turtlenecks for around three dollars to six dollars a pop. Which to me wasn't that bad because they were all in very good condition. I also found a beautiful yellow Columbia jacket for about $14. Now the following day was a 50% off everything sale, and the lady at the register let me know that if I signed up for their program I would get the 50% off discount because apparently if you were a member you would get the discount a day ahead. So I gladly signed up and ended up getting a load of clothes for about $40 which for me is normal to spend. I found a Grateful Dead T-shirt and a bunch of other cool things! I have never seen so many employees stand around scowling and complaining about customers. It's all self-checkout anyway. Why are they even there? And why so many of them? Apparently the manager isn't able to price items so a lot of people had to leave stuff at the register. It's a store, why can't they sell items? The snotty manager just stands around and shouts. My favorite store to thrift at! The prices are always so reasonable and cheaper than Goodwill. The store is clean and well organized, but it does have a musky smell to it. The selection can vary, but I have found new Adidas pieces for $10 each and amazing vintage pieces for easily under $10 each. I love the jackets, bags, and accessories section here. You can find unique pieces for your wardrobe on a tight budget. It does get crowded at sale times, so I recommend going at off times for better selection. I haven't left a ##!!@! review for any business for several years, but the Tigard Value Village has made me see red! Went to check out w about 10 glasses and cups and a few clothing items. I asked where to go to have help checking out since I was there with my disabled daughter who was using a walker because she's weak and unstable standing. I was told their policy was not to assist customers with their purchases "unless there's a disability issue" (uh, hello!!?? Do you not see the frail woman next to me w the walker?). So trying to balance sitting on the walker, my daughter is trying to wrap glasses w tissue while I try to figure out how to scan items, hand more tissue to her as needed, juggle my small polite dog on a leash, all while three VV staff stand there watching. I love this thrift store! I have been there so many times and I swear there are sections that I have never seen before. If you donate items, they give you a coupon to use in the store. They have great sale days and there is always a specific tag that is on sale for that day. I always find great deals. Some things are priced a little high, but if there's no extra percentage off, I just won't buy it. The selection is always changing and I never leave here empty handed. Definitely the best thrift store in the area. The only con is that I wish they had more dressing rooms! There can be long lines if there is a big sale day. read more

Too expensive and the store is a for-profit business. Still, I went there because for me the point is to buy used items to be more sustainable and less wasteful. I do like that I can get used magazines (for reading in waiting rooms and at the gym) for 99 cents, which is pretty cool. They have a large selection of kitchen, household, and linen items. The clothing is too expensive and many of it is in poor condition as well. One of the very best thrift stores I've been in. I now apologize for mocking it during high school. Funny how your attitude changes once you have spend your OWN money on clothes, housewares, and everything else! The store is clean, neat, well-signed, extremely well-stocked. And of course, VERY reasonably priced. I got 2 pairs of jeans, 3 board games, and a pair of cowboy boots for $30! Like most such stores, there weren't many staff members, but they were cheerful, and even at noon on Saturday there was almost no wait in line. TRIVIA: Cowboy boots reportedly trace back to Ghengis Khan, though the style was popularized by the first Duke of Wellington. While I haven't been to this location for a good 6 years, I can tell you that like other Value Villages, there are some good quality items here to be found for really decent prices. It's quite a big space, and one of the things I love is that clothing is arranged by size (including plus sizes) and then by color within each size. Looking for an orange shirt in Size 12? You'll know exactly where to look. They have several dressing rooms in decent condition as well. It's also a fantastic place to find a Halloween costume on the cheap - they sell some new Halloween costumes and accessories alongside costumey items they pull from their inventory to create a special Halloween section near the front. read more

I'm enjoying living down the street from this Value Village. Great selection, that changes frequently. One cashier vehemently claimed that 5,000 new items go out each day. That seems... a) incredible b) ridiculous c) impossible d) mildly unlikely. Regardless, it's still a great thrift store. I haven't been on a Monday in a while. As someone who used to work at a different value village in a different state, I am disappointed at corporate for the policies that have been enacted since I left a few years ago. There are NO FITTING ROOMS. They probably closed them during covid, and have not reopened them. This wouldn't be terrible or worth a bad review, but also there are NO REFUNDS. You also cannot get refunds for any clothing items that don't fit, you can only get store credit or exchange items. This has led to many women trying on clothes in the aisles, and needing to possibly remove items to see if the clothes fit. I myself have had to do this and hid in the dress aisle because I felt more shielded from the public. These new policies place people, and especially women, in vulnerable situations and I am very disappointed in the new corporate policies that prioritize money and efficiency over women feeling safe in the store. read more

FIrst off I am not from here and once moving here I noticed that all Goodwills here are like outrageously pricing their items! I found Value Village on yelp and decided to give it a chance. I almost always find something to buy here. While their prices are the same as Goodwill, it is awesome that they have 75%, 50% and 25% tags every week. This, in my opinion, beats Goodwill. It's so so. They have TONS of used clothes here. By tons, I meant row, after row, after row, and more rows of clothing items. Too bad none of them suits my style. Either you have to be 55 years old or better or you are little kids with no choice in picking your outfits. I love to browse thrift stores for knick knacks and collectibles. Crazy Value Village find of the day? Turquoise Born Wedge Sandals, bottoms completely unscuffed, so these puppies are brand new. Retails around $100. Value Village price... $6.99. Seriously this Value Village is really nice compared to the one that I live by, and there are a lot more name brand items as well. This was not the only pair of designer shoes I found. There were a hot pair of Carlos Santana heels that looked like they have been worn once, but I am in mommy mode so I let them go. The book selection isn't as extensive as some I have seen, but there were some great children's clothes and Everything was really clean and well-organized. read more

Their inventory has really declined and they are charging so much now, it's no longer even worth going here. If they would just lower their prices, more people would come to shop, and donate at the same time. I used come here for the hunt of a good deal. I'd walk in, donate 2-3 bags, have a blast sifting through eclectic things for hours, then walk out with 2-3 bags of fun, "new to me" finds. They also used to have multiple discount tiers (75, 50 and 25%), but now there is just one, 50% tier, and this tags are few and far between. What a waste of time and a big disappointment. something is going really wrong at these stores. The prices are going silly. Bearing in mind this is a second hand/thrift store you have to question shirts at $12 plus, and hiking shoes at $25 plus the rest of the goods seem to follow this greedy price range-BUT it never used to be like this. The current prices encourages me to go here less and less and in fact go to outlet malls where I can purchase new items at comparable prices. Randomly walked into Value Village today and came out with bargain gold! Picked up 2 swivel bar chairs for my kitchen bar for less than $4! Managed to haggle them down from $5.99 to $1.99 and $4.99 to $1.25 due to "broken" backs that I could fix with some love. I've found some very cool things, but mostly things that need love. They have a larger than expected book section which are filled with unusual & interesting titles scattered among raunchy romance novels, fundamentalist christian dogmatic literature and children's books. But this store is great, in spite of the random crazy personalities and beings roaming the store. Most of the patrons are elderly, a few are your roaming crafters and the rest are best left alone or given several aisle breadth, due to behavior or hygiene. read more

I've shopped Value Village for many years and in recent times I have become very disappointed with VV. This post is in regard to my last visit on 4/30/17. I didn't make a purchase during this visit as I didn't find anything priced fairly. What I find most disappointing is how so much of the merchandise is RIDICULOUSLY over priced. Price should reflect the USED condition and value. VV seems to think it is fair to charge new prices for used beat up merchandise. Goodwill is overpriced too! Examples: there were 4 or 5 rusty old pretty beat up claw hammers which were priced at $4.50, $5.50, & $6.00. Harbor Frieght sells Brand new 16oz hammers for $3.79 and 24oz framing hammers for $5.99 all with fiberglass handles and lifetime warranties. So, how does VV figure that charging 4.50 for a rusty chipped beat up hammer is fair market? They were selling a number of beat up, heavily used cordless hand tools (drills, drivers etc.). None of the tools were top quality (such as Dewalt, craftsman, Milwaukie, porter cable, Mikita, Rigid etc) none of the tools on display had chargers, some were missing chargers and batteries yet VV had priced them between $15 and $25. RIDICULOUS! Compare getting a new Drillmaster 18volt 3/8" drill/driver from harbor frieght for $16.99 with guarantee. There was a ratty looking faux fur coat selling for $275. RIDICULOUS! Men's neckties were priced at 5.99 and more. I frequently see neckties at Salvation Army for $1.99 plus you can get a 15% senior citizens discount. Books at VV were being priced at 50% off original price. There were books that were WAY out dated. Example; a "how to computer guide" copyright 1993. The original price was $30, so VV wants $15 for a book whose content is obsolete?? Really? The value of 80% their books and magazines should be .50, 1.00 and 3.00 TOPS! Other issues; they won't adjust prices even if you show that there is damage. VV should be willing to give discounts on bulk purchases of merchandise. For example, If someone were to buy 5 bicycles at the same time, 15-20 books, 3 suits etc, a discount for bulk purchases should be offered. The store is clean, not messy or cluttered. I would describe the staff as "average." Staff was polite and courteous enough if you approach them. No one seemed to be real enthused about being there, I didn't see any staff engage customers in any friendly way. There is plenty of parking. read more

I've never been a huge fan of Value Village as I feel they are overpriced but I am especially disappointed during Covid-19 their lack of precautionary actions to prevent the spread. Not only was it super packed, felt like a super sale day with a line wrapping around the store to checkout and checkers had no shields nor were they sanitizing like goodwill but they didn't require people to wear masks and people shopping did not honor any kind of social distancing. I never thought I'd give this Value Village 3 stars, but I definitely am not a fan of their new changes. Value Village used to have 25%, 50% and 75% off colored tags daily, but now they only have 50% off 1 colored tag per day. It also seems like they increased their prices!
