I LOVE THIS PLACE. There are some great finds in the place so far I've bought a slow cooker for $5, a good sized poster frame for $8, and a very warm blanket for the up and coming winter nights for $6!!! I'm only giving 2 stars for the prices! A few hours ago, my client and I stopped by V. Village to purchase a few things. I often (3-4 times a month) bring my client to this store who is a disabled adult with a brain injury because she enjoys the prices and selection. Learning to shop for herself and exchanging money is a task she has worked hard on completing. On most occasions, she has felt accomplished in completing this task due to the kindness and stability of value village staff. However, this changed this afternoon.... As my client struggles with receipts, i often hold them for her as her life coach. She attempted to return some clothes today and I presented the receipts to the cashier (guy with pony tail). He immediately told us he was doing us a favor by allowing us to go over the "7 day return". We both explained that because she comes to their store in forest grove and I hold the receipts in tigard, she doesn't get to come to their store as she would like. She went on to explain that she feels more comfortable trying the clothes on at home as she has limited use of her arm and leg. The cashier began to look at the receipts but with a heavy sigh. I told him i would assist to speed up the process. The cashier just stood their while i struggled to coordinate the numbers with the clothes needing returning by myself. He again pointed out he was doing us a favor. My client apologized, as did I. My client began to get very nervous as she knew he was upset with us. I told him never mind, asked if we couldn't get back in a few days, could she still get credit for her returns ( Gift Card). He said " nope, we won't take them back at all". I grabbed our new purchases and her return, and took my client out of there!! I've been personally shopping at this store for over 10 years. I go at least twice a week for my family and I also bring other clients in here all hipthe time. I'm disgusted by this employee and will no longer shop here, along with my clients! I'm trying to teach them that people are friendly and compassionate. Your employee kindly unwrapped all my work with her today. read more

I love it here! Such a variety of everything and prices are pretty darn low! However checking out at the register does take FOREVER.

I normally love this store..I'm a thrift store addict, but when I went in for cheap Halloween costumes, there isn't any.. Kids costumes starting at 20.00! Some 25.00, even 35.00! Yikes! We went to Good Will instead and found the same things for 4.99.... read more

Clean. Affordable. Friendly staff. Organized. It's the best thrift shop I've been to in this area. Price tag reductions occur everyweek and there is a $2 tag Thursday alonge with 25% off Mondays... There are some senior perks too. Not like the other shops where they reduce a color tag that you cant find any of. I found alot of nice trendy clothes in 16ish sizes. That's hard to find at a regular store. I'm hooked to this joint. read more

This location has gotten so organized and there is so much clothes. I feel like you will definitely find atleast one thing you will want. Definitely coming back - so glad it's so far from all the regular thrift stores so it doesn't get combed over as much. read more

I always find some great treasures when I go here. It is a thrift store so it has that certain odor, so I can't do 5 stars, but it's great for what it is. If you have the time to look, you'll find some good deals here on clothes or whatever else you might be looking for. (I just can't do the used undergarments. That part kind of bothers me.) read more

An OK place in SW Portland to shop for second hand items, but like many other posters, the prices are becoming too high to justify frequent Thrift Store shopping for just looking around. With the discounts, yes you can sometimes find a great deal, but you do need to come often and check everything and know what full retail is. As another poster noted, I have also noticed items obviously retagged. I have seen this at Goodwill as well. I mostly come here for the craft items such as fabric and dress patterns, but have noted that recently they have started marking them very high. They all used to be $0.69 For example a brand new, in factory folds Simplicity pattern was marked $6.99. I asked the clerk to check if if it was mis-tagged, but it turns out that was the actual price. Really??!!! Why would I pay $6.99 when Jo-Anns has Simplicity patterns on sale for one dollar on a regular basis? The other thing is they put these sticky tags on the patterns that pull the paper off when you remove them. I've spoken to the managment, but they continue to do it. I dont understand why they would use a tagging system that destroys the merchandise. If I cant read the directions for how much or what type of fabric to buy when I remove the label, the pattern is useless and of course I cant resell it if I've changed my mind. So, basically, this used to be a great place, but their policies for tagging and prices have made it a less than great bargain. read more

Word to the wise: do Not pay for an item with a plan to pick it up later, esp. furniture. Have been stiffed twice at this location: once when knobs were removed from a dresser prior to my picking it up, and again this week when someone pulled the sold tag off a vintage student desk that was PAID FOR and took it. Apparently "this happens a lot" according to the manager. There are no security cameras tracking employees or customers in the furniture area. read more

Went in today to browse for a cook book. Yellow tags were 75% off...YEAH. As I was walking past the glass case I saw them removing the yellow tagged items and replacing them with HIGH PRICED blue tagged items which were regular priced not included in the sale. I am by no means cheap, but to pay $29.99 for a ring that is at Claire's Boutique right now for $6.99????? They literally wheeled away the yellow tagged items to the back...probably to change the tags ;-(. That's a scam and extremely dishonest. Did you guys change the person who prices the items or something? I grabbed my mother and left. We won't be back. What happened to this place? read more

Raised as a thrifty Goodwill-er, i know my way around a thrift store. I love this hidden gem! I have had amazing luck at this store--a genuine Toms leather bag, great boots for about half the price of Goodwill, stylish clothes for myself and my son (the baby clothing selection is not super extensive, but its not at Goodwill either), and really cute decorative house things (think vases, knick knacks, wall mirrors, etc). I got an adorable vintagey dress for $9.99 today and a Carters onesie for my baby for $1.49 (they were either $.99 or $1.49--what a steal!). Great selection, great condition, great prices. And i love supporting them in their work with ARC. Such a fun treasure hunt every time! read more
