But the experience quickly declined from there. Very friendly on the phone turned into a challenge when I dropped my truck off. They were upfront and told me they were backed up so I left it with them and went about my day. 6 hours later, when I returned, my truck was still parked in the same place and hadn't been touched. However, somehow they'd been able to clairvoyantly determine that it needed new brakes and an oil change. They'd even called me to tell me as much. I'm very glad that I told them no - I change my own brakes and oil. When I expressed my confusion to the gentleman inside (I promise I was polite) I was met with a mixture of blank stares and assurances that the manager would be right out. Right out meant 30 minutes and they were closing the store for the day - my truck still not serviced. I was told by the manager that they'd had a busy day and would need me to bring my truck back the next day. You could possibly see my concern at this point, which I expressed to the manager too. Let me just say that I did not go back. I will not go back, and I cannot recommend this location to anyone. All I really needed was a phone call and some honesty - but those two things seem to be absent from the customer no service of today's business. I'm glad that I don't run my business this way!

During this period, we have repeatedly observed and documented the unauthorized use of our residential street--specifically a no-outlet roadway--by employees of Midas, 1643 Winchester Rd. NE for the purpose of testing vehicles serviced at their facility. On numerous occasions, technicians have operated vehicles at speeds exceeding the posted residential speed limit, in violation of local traffic ordinances (see Huntsville City Code § 21-101, Speed Limits in Residential Areas). These actions constitute a disregard for Alabama Code § 32-5A-190, which mandates the safe and lawful operation of motor vehicles on public roadways. Furthermore, employees have ignored direct requests from residents to comply with speed regulations and cease such testing activities. This conduct creates a substantial and foreseeable risk to public safety, particularly given the presence of young children and pets who regularly play and traverse the street. The repeated violation of traffic laws and failure to heed community concerns may expose Midas to civil liability under Alabama Code § 6-5-70, which addresses negligent operation of vehicles resulting in harm to persons or property. Residents have previously raised these concerns with multiple shop managers. While some managers took corrective action, the unlawful practice has resumed under current management. Most recently, when a resident attempted to address the issue with the manager, the manager responded in a confrontational and physically aggressive manner, refusing to discuss the concern or prevent further misuse of the street. This behavior may constitute assault under Alabama Code § 13A-6-20 and reflects a disregard for both legal obligations and community safety. Today, another technician was observed operating a vehicle at a speed that appeared to exceed the legal limit, further demonstrating ongoing noncompliance. We hereby formally request that Midas immediately investigate this matter and implement measures to ensure strict adherence to all applicable traffic laws and safety regulations. Continued unauthorized use of this residential street for vehicle testing not only endangers neighborhood residents but may also subject Midas to legal action and reputational harm.

Pricing was insanely competitive, and Chris even worked his magic to knock some extra off, because having your alternator go out on a Wednesday isn't fun for anyone's bank account in this economy. They pushed to get my car done quickly so I could pick my son up on time from school- and even had a mechanic pause his work to drive me up the road to my house so I could eat and get our second vehicle in case they ran over with the repair. These men never once made me feel like a burden and helped me with a smile, explained pricing to me in a way that felt educational, every employee was kind and generous in going above and beyond to have my car repaired and me as a customer and person taken care of. On Friday, 10-24-25, I took my car to have an oil change at meineke in South Huntsville location. When my wife arrived to pick it up, she noticed a large crack on the passenger side of the windshield. I immediately brought it to the technician's attention, and he called the manager, Logan (Anthony), back to inspect the damage. Once Logan came back into the shop, he took pictures of the damage and said he would contact me back the next day for a resolution. I waited until 4 p.m. the next day and had to call him myself. He claimed to have reviewed the footage and said "nothing happened," suggesting the crack occurred after the car was parked outside, facing a highway, and therefore they would not be take responsibility and would do nothing even though the car was in their custody. Additionally, they forgot to put the "oil change" sticker on the windshield, a small detail that says a lot about their lack of care and attention... I then requested the corporate number, which he said he didn't have, and would get back to me, which also did not happen yet. I later emailed Meineke corporate, only to be told that the locations are "independently owned and operated," and they couldn't do anything either. Translating to that being my problem after all, even though the damage occurred during the time the car was in their custody. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed by their lack of accountability and professionalism. So as soon as we got off work we went to the place she bought her battery to get a diagnostic reading which stated "bad charging system". Luckily, we were next door to Tire Discounters so we rushed over to see if they could replace her alternator that night because she lives almost an hour from this area and didn't feel confident she'd make it home. We walk in with a new alternator and ask if they can replace it. One guy said they could replace it but it wouldnt be tonight since it was about 5:15 and they close at 6pm. We understood but felt so defeated. I asked if they thought she'd make it to Scottsboro with a bad alternator and one guy said not likely. the other guy, Jacob, said he would go check her output to see what the reading was to help gauge whether or not she should attempt the long commute. once Jacob got the reading he began looking for her alternator to see how hard it would be to get to. After he assessed everything he said he wanted to go ask the other guy a question real quick so we followed him inside. After Jacob spoke to the other guy, he came to the counter and said he was going to put the new one on and said it will be done around 6pm. Jacob went above and beyond to make sure my friend made it back home that night. He was kind, courteous, and fast. Jacob didn't have to do what he did, especially being as close to closing time as it was, but he took great care of us! GO SEE JACOB!
