Returning from vacation and stopped for a very pleasant day in Berea. As I started to leave, a low oil warning light came on. I checked the engine, and found that my Alfa does not have a dipstick. It was a Sunday afternoon, five hours from home. I did a quick phone search and this Valvoline location came up. I could not by happier with the timely, professional and friendly service. Two young ladies assisted me and it was clear that they knew what they were doing. One walked my through finding the issue from the dash controls, while the other added the proper oil in half quart amounts until full. They were both great, especially when you consider that they knew I was not from Berea and unlikely to be a repeat customer. But if I was in the area, this would be the store to patronize! Better than the average instant oil change place. First the good...friendly workers and there was no line at all. They communicate with each other the entire time, "Removing this" "Installing that", so it cuts down on the chances of a mistake like you often hear about from these places. The price is reasonable as well. Now the bad...get ready for the "up-sell" on everything from the type of oil you choose to an air filter. They don't get rude when you decline, but they are trying to sell you additional services the entire time you're there. Also, the grates that allow access to your car from underneath are a little high. If you own something that's a little low like a Camaro, Mustang, Charger, or anything with similar ground clearance, you will drag a little pulling in. Even with the very few bad things I will still return and would definitely recommend. read more

While travelling south, my car's check engine light came on. We were two women travelling, and had not a clue what to do. We spotted the Valvoline Instant Oil Change across the street from the gas station we had stopped into, and decided to go over and see if they could help us. All the gentlemen working there were so kind, checked our car out for us, and gave us a possible reason as to why the light had come one. Guys here were great. My family was traveling home from vacation on 75 when our van started making strange noises from what appeared to be a loose heat shield. Pulled off at Berea exit. Being on a weekend found no mechanic shops open to look at problem. An auto parts store employee said to go to Valvoline Instant Oil change and they should be able to take care of it. They took us right in and removed the heat shield(bolts had rusted thru) which was hanging down and dragging. They also secured a loose splash shield. When I tried to give them some money for their trouble they said "no charge and have a safe trip home". Only asked that I use Valvoline Instant Oil Change in the future(i will). Great employees and very helpful. read more
