My 1st Time here. Yea kinda strange you stay in the car but the guys there helped me ALOT. I went to get a coolant flush & my fault I hadn't done this service in years, so I had a ton of gunk in my system. But the guys were patient & flushed my system , made sure I was good to go before I left. My only dilemma was they diagnosed I needed a new Thermostat. So not a service they do , they recommended I see my mechanic. Which when I got to my mechanic about 20 mins later , yep my thermostat needed to be replaced. Yes I recommend Valvoline on Boston Rd. On June 24th I went to get a oil change. I rolled in at 5:30pm. As the process started I seen they offer a service to recharge the AC because I feel it running low because it not as cold as usually is. It been 6 year and I got my car new from the dealer. I ask the technician how much because my car need to be recharged. Thinking killing 2 birds with one stone. I was informed it's $159.00 okay I said do it because it save time I'm already here. I then seen him start the process and was messing with the line I see him with a lost and confused face. I asked is everything okay yea everything is fine just open the valve on the AC line. An hour goes by it's now 6:30pm I'm still waiting for the technician to finish I asked how much longer? He then walks over to the manager and now his under the hood. How he informed me they took valve out the AC line and replacing it because it part of the service. It's now punching 7pm and I'm still waiting. 7:10 they connect the machine and it's now changing the AC. When the remove the hoes the freon sprays out. I was in form that my line now has a leek and the value that he touched is broken from trying to change it. Come back tomorrow at 9am and they with have someone look at it I'm there 9am they send me to a mechanic who was no help at all to fix the AC line and it will cost me $300. Blown away I then return back to that manager at Valvoline and he told me to get the part myself and he will get it repaired. I have Oder that part it in back order for 3 weeks now and still have no AC in my car. It completely unacceptable that the technician at brake my valve and I'm now paying to get it fixed and now I'm waiting a long time to even get a part. Only reimbursed offer was a free oil change and a free AC change. Part alone from the manufacture in $178 and I'll be damm if I take it to there mechanic to get installed You have service camera up watch the techs service the cars. I've visited this plae a few times now. I have always done my own work on my car including routine oil (and other fluid) changes. Being in the Bronx with limited visits to NJ, where I would do the routine work, I always went to BUdget Muffler on Eastchester Road. After years and years of service, they finally closed last year. I google searched other nearby car shops. Despite being skepical of these drive throuh fluid change (Jiffy Lube?!) places, I decided to give them a try since this was a routine task which I figured would be hard to mess up. I arrived there shortly after they opened. You enter on the Laconia street side and practically line up behind one of the three shop doors there. They call you when it is your turn. The door opens and you pull into the bay. There, you are greeting with technician who takes down basic information if it is your first time. YOu can then tell them what services you like. They offer a variety of fluid changes and other basic services like air filters. I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly, professional and knowledgeable the technicians were. They have a great system as all the staff communicate with each other; the guy at the computer, the guy in front under the hood and the third guy who is in the bay underneath the car. They do test everything including battery power, tire pressures and all fluids. They will offer you to do everything that needs to be done as per the manufacturer's recommendations. They were not pushy in any way. They seemed to be more concerned with doing their due dillegence in explaining the need for each services as opposed to selling them to you, which I appreciated. I initially ended up getting a basic oil change and battery change (since I knew my battery was almost six years old and needed replacing). I went in there recently and was told that since I had only put about 1,000 miles since my last synthetic oil change, I do not need to get the oil changed despite the last one being five months ago. I appreciated their honesty. Again, I was extremely happy with this place. Everyone is friendly and very knowledgeable. Kudos to the staff and management. I highly recommedn this place to everyone. This is the second time I've come to this location and have gotten exceptional service. I'm not sure if it was as pure luck, but both times I went i did not have to wait. I parked my car in the space and at least two guys started working. They were quick and efficient. The attendant was honest with additional services I needed. Due to the fact I had a Groupon any additional service I needed was 15% off. They were thorough! I needed an air filter, which they didn't have. I went to auto zone two minutes away, bought it and Orlando replaced it for free. Orlando was great! I appreciate their honesty and professionalism. Generally I have very good experiences at Valvoline and this location is no exception. The assistant manager is really good. He is personable, and runs things efficiently at this location. It's very clean, both in the working area and the waiting area. Granted, we were the only car being served in the beginning, but this was the fastest oil change I've ever experienced. It couldn't have been more than 10 to 15 minutes. Oil changing businesses are simple and straight forward, so I don't know what else to say except patronize this location! I thought they only did oil changes, but I gave them a call. I just wasted my time at another place, and wanted as quick of an inspection as I could get, or I would put it off for another day. Alex though it might be an hour wait to get in, but told me to hold on and he would check. Then he said to swing by bc they had only one repair and 3 oil changes, so it would move quickly. I drove 15 mins, they took my car in within 10 mins, and I was out in 20-25. What blew my mind is that Alex doesn't even work there--he is at their call center! So when his system said they had 4-5 cars in attendance, he actually took the time to call the shop and cparity the wait for me. i notice that my cars inspection expired on sept 30 and them tickets are no joke if you get one . while in the bronx sunday morning i figured no repair shop will be open on sunday or do emissions inspection but i was wrong which is rare and the giant sign in front of valvoline oil change shop that reads inspections 7 days a week was just what i needed . i turn to the rear of the place and with its 3 bays for service i was happy that bay one had a clear sign stating dmv inspections . i pulled right in and had a seat in the small simple waiting room and was out in 20 minutes with 37 less dollars in my wallet . they do oil change , antifreeze flush , transmission fluid changes , wiper blades replacement and other basic car services . the prices may seem a bit steep but compared to other shops the wait is short and no appointments needed . i also like that they don't try to push services you may not need or give you a song and dance that this and that needs to be changed or service . if you prefer not to wait in the waiting area you can walk 10 steps to a dunkin donuts next door and stuff your face with a jelly donut . overall i got my inspection and was on my way on a football sunday morning . read more
