Took my girlfriend's car for a typical oil change. They seemed decent so a week later I took my car for an oil change and a new battery. When I pulled up there was a 3 cars in front of me. The man came out and asked what I was there for. I mentioned the oil change and asked if they had batteries in stock. He said yes. When I got into the bay I was there for 30 minutes. I asked what was taking so long and they said they had to run and get a battery. Another 30 minutes later they put my battery in. Today my gf had to take her car to be repaired. The shop said who ever did the oil change didn't put a part back on! It cost her $500 to be fixed. Do not use this company! read more

Five stars. I went to this location for the first time on January 25 for an oil change to my Kia Optima. Astonishingly for this industry, I had three women working on my car. They were outstanding. They changed my oil and windshield wipers, and then gave me a look at my air filter and asked if I wanted it changed. The woman standing at the register area by my driver's seat was wonderful. She was very informative, and she was able to make recommendations without being pushy like most auto shops. Sad that I didn't get her name for the review. I would appreciate it very much if you could forward my review to her. Yesterday, July 31, I went to this location again. As with the time before, there was no wait time, and service was fast! I had just got a new vehicle recently and was frankly paranoid about when I needed a new oil change, as I had previously wrecked an engine for not remembering. The tan gentleman (not sure if White or Hispanic), was fantastic as well. He gave me information about the three types of oils available without being pushy or upselling me. Also asked in a non-pushy way if I wanted my air filter checked out. When his associate (white female who was also very nice) checked on my oil, they showed me the dipstick and said not to worry, as I still had at least 1,000 miles remaining. Very seldom do I go to an auto shop and not get pressured into paying a bunch of money. But rest assured, I will be getting my next oil change and air filter change at this shop. I don't live in Channahon, but I see my friend there every weekend. I had previously used Jiffy Lube, and most of their locations are good, but you guys are better. Knocking it out of the park. Update: I left a previous review based on the fact that Valvoline had not been topping off my fluids. I decided to give them one more try since they are so close to home. The mechanic made a big show out of squeezing the rubber on my wiper blades and telling me they were worn and needed to be replaced. When I told him I just had new blades put on the previous week at the dealer's, he just said "Oh" and asked if I wanted my cabin air filter checked. Totally untrustworthy business trying to upsell customers with unnecessary replacements. Avoid at all costs! read more

I had my oil changed here in December on my F150 and shortly after started hearing a rattle once in a while but couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Today I noticed something hanging down under my truck and after looking underneath found that the skid plate that has to be removed in order to change oil was hanging on by a thread and appeared to be missing some bolts. So either it wasn't tightened properly or the bolts were stripped when it was replaced. I stoped to have it fixed and waited 25 minutes to have it looked at. They said it's repaired but time will tell if they forgot to tighten or if the bolts are stripped. Didn't even receive an apology. Needless to say I won't be returning as it's obvious that their techs really aren't techs I like to support local business but I'll just pay extra at the ford dealer to insure things are done properly. read more

I had purchased a Groupon for $53.00 which should have covered it but no they put in the wrong oil and charged me $30 extra. Whatever the reason for the change, this quick oil change place has improved greatly under the new re-branding. I visited this location a few times over the past few years and it was always just okay. (Like three yelp stars). Drive Through Concept When Michael greeted me outside the service bay and asked if I serviced my car here previously. I said yes, but that was under the old business. Michael said that Valvoline Instant Oil Change is a drive through concept. I probably gave him a little hesitant look. He then explained that you drive your vehicle into the service bay and stay in your car the entire time. Admittedly, I was a little skeptical of sitting in my car while auto-techs would be touching, poking and changing oil on my car. In the end, it was great not to have to wait in a lame waiting room and watch a most likely fuzzy TV or Disney's Frozen on loop. On to the service. The three service-techs that worked on my vehicle, Chrissy, Michael and Justin were professional and informative. Chrissy was the main service rep I interacted. You know how at some oil change shops you dread going because you will be judged on lack of car care or pressured into adding additional service. You do not have to worry about that here! While Chrissy did inform me of all the additional services they offered, I did not feel pressure or judged. Phew, I have enough of that from my mom and friends. I do not need that from my oil change place. I won't step foot inside this establishment again. I used to go here religiously. The old owner/manager was great. Well, now I came in for a simple oil change. The previous time I was there they told me I had a headlight out. Which I knew I told them I had an extra bulb and they said they'd change it no problem! Great customer service. Almost every oil change place will do this. So nice considering it takes them less than a minute to do it. Well turns out I had the wrong bulb in my car. So they said bring it back anytime and they'll take care of it. So I procrastinated and didn't return until time for my next oil change. Again they tell me the light is out. I show him the bulb and ask if they will change it. He gave me a very firm NO. They don't do that. I had already purchased a $30 bulb and he said I HAVE TO purchase the bulb from them for "liability". Because I could "come back and complain if something goes wrong" over a bulb? Really dude? No. I will just change it again. Then he says he'll do it for $10. No! Your other employee told me they'd do it for free! Why am I going to pay you $10 under the table for what takes you less than a minute? So they continue their checks. He recommends various services as they always do. Which I do need done and plan to but I continuously told him I would NOT be getting them done from him because he was rude and I didn't want to give him my business. He then tells me my serpentine belt is severely frayed. I said okay. (Even though I know I changed it not too long ago). He guilted me about it for quite some time. Even used the fact that I had car seats in the back to frighten me, "I see you have little ones. Your belt may only last another day or so, I don't want anything to happen with kids in the car." So of course I worried, but I still didn't want to give him my business. He was incredibly rude through this entire process (I later find out he's the manager- I believe his name was William but I will double check). So I week or so goes by and I return to a different valvoline. I tell them I need a new serpentine belt. And because I was so matter of fact, they didn't question it. Just changed it like I asked. Afterwards I asked to see it, so I would know what a frayed belt looks like. They show me and actually say "it's actually fine. You could've drove awhile longer. It's not frayed at all" I tell them about William and they say "we would have NEVER told you you'd only last another day. We wouldn't have even recommended a new one. This one was fine." (They even let me keep it for proof.) (I also have my receipt and recommendations from the first place where William CIRCLED serp belt). So 3 hours wasted on my day off, and $115 unnecessary dollars spent on something I didn't even need. I am beyond fed up and disappointed. Valvoline is quick and efficient. And even though the gentlemen at the second shop were nice and accommodating, I will never return. I'd rather pay a little more for better customer service and reliable employees who tell me the truth and don't just try to steal my money. I went here for the first time a week ago. Was all set to hop out of the car, wait in a weird sour smelling waiting room as I am so used to doing at other locations, when I was pleasantly surprised I actually got to stay in the car! They were not pushy at all with extraneous add-ons, although they do offer some good services at surprisingly reasonable prices. The oil change itself was also fairly priced. I ended up going back again this week with our other car, and in both instances everyone I dealt with was polite, professional, and efficient. Both cars were in and out in under 10 min. I would not recommend this place to anyone! I spent over $100 for an oil change and an oil filter which, according to them, should also include a quick check of a few items and then topping off your fluids. Which they did not do, I called afterward to ask what the service includes she explained it to me so I then asked why those things were not done. I spoke with a manager told me she was going to follow up and see why those things were not done, never received a call back so I called back a week later. she proceeded to tell me that she viewed the cameras and that they did top off the fluids. But when I asked her what vehicle she was looking at on the camera she was unable to tell me. how is it that you're looking at a car on the camera but you don't know what car you're looking for or looking at.. and the main reason I'm upset is because my car did not have any problems before bringing it in and now it does.. I would never go back because I really don't want to give my business to somebody who is going to lie to their customers, and be deceitful. you can go anywhere else to get an oil change for $50 and it includes these services, which they will actually do for you! read more

I thought I received good service until I told my husband that I had them replace the air filter while I was there getting my oil changed. Apparently they should not have replaced it as it was a high performance air filter that was $180 and only needed to be cleaned and not replaced. Quick and easy oil change. Not much to complain about here. I don't have to leave my car and there's usually not a long line.

Won't be going here again. Had the oil changed about one month ago. Two days later find oil puddles on the garage floor and work parking lot. Drive over to shop. I tell the guy what's happening and he tells me he could see the oil coming out as I pulled in. After checking things out, they (3 guys are looking underneath) tell me the oil filter wasn't seated properly. They fix the problem with a new filter. They were accommodating, but I was fuming because something like this happened to me a year before when the place was a Mobil Lube. I was just happy to get it fixed. Well today hubby is washing the car and discovers the pan is coming off. Three of the four bolts are missing. The cover is only 3" off the ground. Didn't even think about revisiting Valvoline. Was too afraid it would lead to another problem. Not sure why the service guys are so sloppy with their work. Please beware if you bring your car in. Make sure everything fits and is tightened up before you leave. read more

This place sucks. or maybe I should say the employees are stupid and unqualified to work there. Wife had her oil changed approx 3 weeks ago. next day, went to garage and a big puddle of oil on the floor under her car. She brought the car back and they apologized and gave some BS excuse that the oil filter was bent and it was leaking. Hmmm....do they not check this before they put it in and then check after they install it? So, they changed filter and gave my wife a hand written hokey 15 dollar off coupon for the next time she visits. LOL, wife told them not a chance in hell and the asst mgr said I dont blame you. Fast forward to today. Gonna wash and wax the car and look underneath and the piece that covers the bottom of the engine where the oil filter is, is hanging off. It was missing 3 of the 6 bolts. Dont know if they didnt tighten them or what, but again no excuse for that either. Unfortunately, we had another instance with the same place a few years ago where they stripped the oil drain plug and it was leaking. Of course they didnt admit fault. So...........NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE! WORKERS ARE STUPID AND UNQUALIFIED TO CHANGE OIL MUCH LESS DO ANYTHING ELSE TO YOUR CAR. BEWARE OR YOU MAY JUST NEED A NEW ENGINE!!!! read more
