After a couple experiences of repairs for the same situation with the engine light being on and paying from $800 to 1500 for two different solutions for the same reason and the engine light is still on the noise is still in here. I paid $347 for them to fix vibration. Had a new set of tires installed at Walmart. Apparently they didn't balance the tires right.I didn't know what the problem was.These guys said I had a bent wheel so they replaced it with used piece of crap and it fixed nothing. Finally took it to another place on the west side of town, and they actually managed to balance the new tires. 3 different places and they couldn't even balance tires right. Its impossible to find a good mechanic you can trust. I was proven wrong when i visited auto4n for the first time, and then reconfirmed every time after. Over the years they continue to provide quality service and repairs they stand behind (they've done follow up repairs for free). Im always concerned about being ripped off, knowing very little about cars, but each repair has come in far below the price of the dealer or even other ma and pop stores like this one. They have worked with me to make sure my car is not only repaired, but will continue to work for me in the future. I appreciate their honest and direct advice without feeling like im being up-sold a bunch of add-ons i don't really need. I would highly suggest them to anyone with a foreign car. Had a bad experience here. There was some questionable pricing along with a $50 inspection fee. One of two estimates was $120 for spark plug replacement. Originally, I gave them 2 stars. Left a review that included my negative sentiments and the owner, David, called me a few weeks later. He apologized for the bad experience I had, explained how everything should've happened, and offered a full refund for the inspection. This phone call represents the exceptional customer service you receive when coming here. However, quite frankly, I'd prefer someone treat me harshly and provide a better price point as long as they know what they're doing. If Yelp had 3.5 stars as an option, I might give Auto4N this rating. Instead, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt due to my uncertainty regarding their pricing structure. Where do I even begin?! I don't think there's anything scarier than hearing a new (and cacophonous) noise coming from your car. You don't know if it's going to be a 50 dollar noise or a 1000 dollar noise. So to say I was stressed, would be an understatement. I had had a smaller service done here a while back and decided to call them to set an appointment. First call immediately put my mind at ease. We discussed what was happening, talked preliminarily about what it could be and scheduled for me to come in the next day. I got to my appointment and was immediately checked in by Mike. Mike walked me through what they'd be doing, what the pricing may be and what to expect moving forward. After less than an hour, he was back with a diagnosis. Thankfully, it was an issue that wasn't going to break the bank! Not only did Mike take the time to ensure I knew exactly what was happening, he took me to my car and showed me how to monitor it myself. At all points I felt listened to, valued and respected. I would give these folks 10 stars if I could. This is not your typical auto repair shop - they excel at providing great customer service which is so refreshing. They inspected the brakes on my X3 and 535 and even told me how much "life" I had left on my brake pads before they needed to be replaced. A few months later I brought my x3 in for replacement brakes since their quote was cheaper than the BMW dealership and they had so many positive reviews online. A few weeks went by and I noticed the front brakes were starting to squeak; I returned and explained the issue. They had me make an appointment to bring the car back in for replacement brakes since it was covered under their warranty. I would highly recommend these folks. read more

Took my car in for some shuddering. First time, they were unable to replicate the problem, didn't charge me for the checkup. A few weeks later it happened again and my engine light came on. Took it back in and left it overnight. Throughout the next day, the kept in contact with me, updating me when it was being driven to try and replicate the problem. It was a cylinder misfiring, but I have no real understanding of cars, and was incredibly pleased by the fact that they were completely willing to break down the problem in ways that I could follow. In the end, they gave me a few options, I decided to go ahead and have them replace a few things and tune her up. I was quoted a price on the phone, and when I went in to pick up my car, I was even told that a few pieces were less expensive than previously expected, and the price I paid was a fair bit lower than originally expected. I and my boyfriend have both taken our cars here, and I feel comfortable in thinking that this is an honest business that wants to help you rather than just make money. read more

Great customer service, and very friendly staff. However, this is the worse that a car shop has ever tried to rip me off in my entire life. I understand that it's sort of an industry standard to overcharge girls who look like they don't know what is going on, and I can only assume that all of the rich Xavier students either don't know or don't care what they're being charged, because only a few people on here seem to have even noticed the prices at all. When I brought my car (a plain old Toyota Camry) in for rear break service, along with a higher than average quote for rear pads and rotors, I was told that I would need my sticky rear calipers replaced for $850, which is more than twice the industry standard for a Camry. I immediately called several other shops to get pricing quotes on a caliper replacement, and the maximum they could come up with for a Camry was $150 for parts +$90 for labor (about half that if using aftermarket parts). In addition, Auto4N said I had a power steering fluid leak that I "shouldn't put off," coming to a grand total of $2800. They were very nice when I told them I would be no longer getting my service done there because the price was so high, and gave me $25 off a $79 oil change for being a new customer. But what makes this story worse is that when I took it to the next shop I was informed that my calipers didn't even need replacing (the could just unstick them) NOR my power steering fluid rack and pinion, but that I instead had a water pump/coolant leak (which I since confirmed). So I'm not sure if Auto4N was actually incompetent or just really wanted to rip me off. It's a shame because they were really nice, which is the only reason I'm giving them two stars and not one. But in the end I would rather get fair and quality car service than a beanie or a t-shirt, and for that I'll look elsewhere. read more

They could have charged me some $300 and done it there, but instead they told me to go get it done for free and bring the car back next time I have an issue. And you know what? I will. They seem to take pride in being a part of the community, and the dedication to their customers shows in the quality of their work. A quick example: I took my 2003 Jetta in because the latch on the driver side door was broken. The owner estimated that it would be about $180 to fix it, and I told him I was willing to pay it. He came out to take a look, and it turned out not to be the latch but a simple bolt missing. He fixed it on the spot (and oiled the squeaky hinge on the door) for nothing. Many mechanics would jump at the chance to bank some extra cash by pulling a fast one on customers who wouldn't know the difference. But it doesn't work that way here. The folks at Auto4N seem genuinely glad to help, as if it out of simple neighborliness. Obviously, by providing such customer service they know I'll be back for anything and everything else that needs tinkered with in my car, from oil changes to brake service. The point is that these guys are good at what they do, they like doing it, they like where they're doing it, and they like the people they're doing it for. Knowing I am like a stereotypical girl and don't quite know all the ins and outs of auto service, they always explain to me what work is required, my pricing options and how promptly they'll have it out the door and back in my hands. This is by far the best car repair shop I have ever been to - and that is without ever having to have work done there. I went there because my Nissan Xterra was making some weird noises and even though I had never been before the owner came out and sat in my car to listen to the noise. He immediately was able to diagnose the problem and walk me through what I should do, what I needed to do and what he would do if he was in my situation. I was due for an oil change soon so he said that when I came in he would go ahead and do a full check for free just to make sure he was right. EXCELLENT SERVICE. These guys are so nice and honest! I drive a 200 VW Beetle, so it's a bit old already, and has a lot of clicks. I had to drop my car off in the morning before work, and they arranged for Enterprise Rent-a-Car to come pick me up. When it came time to pick my car up after the repairs, I brought the rental car back to them, and they took care of it for me. That's a favor that they have as a standard protocol!!! I told Keith that I probably wouldn't be able to answer my phone at work, but I would be more likely to respond to email. Before they started working on anything, they sent me a detailed list of repairs needed along with prices including labor. I'm glad they did! Since I had more to have done than expected, I asked them to help me prioritize the most pertinent repairs by urgency. They did great! They're on the corner of Dana and Montgomery, so really close to where I live. Even after I move farther away from this location, I know I'll only be taking my car here and nowhere else in Cincy. These guys are nice, honest, and man, they know their Volkswagens!! BTW,when they've got them in, they'll give you an Auto4N t-shirt. Exceptional customer service. The staff knows exactly how to explain what's going on with your vehicle and they honestly tell you if they think you don't need to replace something. I went there with my sister and we both don't know a lot about cars but we thought we just need to replace the muffler, brakes, and accelerator. We ended up not having to replace the brakes and accelerator. They took the time to inspect almost everything in our car and replaced a lot of things but finished the whole service in a matter of two days (so many things have been replaced). They approximated how long it will take and finished it on time. Also, we had another issue with our car after we picked it up from their shop(oil light was flickering) and they worked on it for free, including towing our car from home. Now, our car feels new. Wish i found these guys sooner! Got my CRV checked out because I'm trying to sell it before i move away. They made me an offer on it ( since they buy cars too....) and then gave me the option to get repairs done as needed to be able to list it for sale. they were super up front and straight forward about the minimum I should do to get this things listed, as well as what i shouldnt have to worry about at this point. They were extremely informative and followed up with me as they said they would. Great experience! I live in central Ohio and my son attends college in Cincinnati. Unfortunately some criminals helped themselves to my son's catalytic converter one night. Being completely unfamiliar with the repair shops in Cincinnati I started researching online and Auto4N kept coming up as one of the highest rated shops in town. And it was not too far from campus which was important since my son's car was as loud as a NASCAR stock car. I called and spoke to Keith who was very helpful which was reassuring. They got us an estimate for the insurance company (which I don't feel was out of line) and were able to do the repair as my son's class schedule allowed.
