The manager came out to take a look - turns out water pump may be going. She filled it up- and I was able to get to the shop by my house. I went in for a routine oil change 10/28/2024 mileage 32812 and had no engine service light on as of yet. The next day Tuesday October 29th after getting my oil change my engine service light came on while driving home from work. Which caused a very high concern for me as I have gotten many oil changes and have not had this happen before. I was unsure if it was a faulty light, so I waited a few days, and the light never disappeared. So, I took it back Saturday Morning 11/02/2024 around 9:15am with mileage they recorded at 32884 and when they checked the problem he came to same conclusion that there was no oil or a lack of oil. They gave no resolve and had a lack of concern for my safety. They told me the only solution would be to pay more money to have oil added, which is a service that should have already been completed. I've been to this location twice and each time they were great. They usually have coupons available which help bring down the prices because they are high! One thing you can't beat is the convenience of sitting in your car while they work magic. It can be a bit daunting to hear they your car needs a bunch of repairs but I just take the paper and don't add anything extra. I recommend coming here if you are unable to get a closer appointment at the cheap dealer or just looking fro a quick oil change. read more

Went for an oil change, when we arrived they kept trying to sell us on an air filter. We declined as we already had an air filter replaced by them not long ago. He insisted and opened up the car to show us how dirty our current air filter was, only to reveal to us that the air filter they put in last time was put in wrong and wasn't working the whole time. He talked badly about "whoever put the filter in" when it was the same place and I'm pretty sure the same guy. He charged us for a new one as he said this one couldn't be used. Seriously? He did a "full" check on the car, and the next day our car wouldn't start due to an issue these guys should have easily noticed if they actually did what they were supposed to. A couple of weekends ago I took my German car in for an oil change here for the first time. After telling my the cost (which was higher than I have paid in the past), the tech who was helping me worked with me on the price which was super helpful. He was very friendly and not pushy at all. It seemed like he truly wanted to earn my business. The other techs who worked on the oil change checked all fluids, lights, and wipers which is always helpful. I've had poor experiences with chain places like this in the past always trying to upsell services I don't need, and this was not that type of place. I do a lot of long distance driving since I go to OU in Athens. I tend to forget about oil changes until it's a little too late to wait a week for an appointment at the dealership or another auto shop. I love valvoline for the reason that I don't need an appointment and that I can get in and out in 15 minutes. After $10 coupons that you can find online, it tends to be only a few dollars more than what I'd pay anywhere else for full synthetic. But this valvoline always has great customer service. Logan was great, and didn't make me feel uncomfortable when I told him I couldn't afford the extra he recommended. He was so nice, and was a great choice as manager or customer service rep? I'm sorry I'm not exactly sure what his position was. There was another lady who was working on my car and her name started with an A. She was awesome and so friendly as well. I went there being out of state and really needed an oil change. My oil changes usually cost around 70$. I asked them if they could fill up on the oil I already had in my car and on my sticker. The guy ensured that was able to be done. (I was nervous because I'm not well versed in how to care for my car...so I trusted I was in good hands). Then they started the process of completely flushing out the old old and putting a different brand in that cost me a little over $100 dollars. When they went over the price I was surprised in the difference and even mentioned that it was higher than my normal oil changes. I definitely feel like the pulled one on me. Can't say this is the bet place to get an oil change in Kent. The guy said it would be $89 and that was the cheapest apparently. Ended up going down the road and got one for 30 bucks after tax. Cuz they never told me in the phone about extra protential fee. anyway It is still expensive after the discount . My daughter got her oil changed in Louisville at Valvoline where they did not put the drain plug in correctly. After driving to Ohio, we noticed that there was a large amount of oil dripping on the ground where she parked. Thinking the Valvoline in Kent would take care of the problem, she waited 30 minutes only to be told that the other Valvoline dealer did a horrible job and that she should drive (350 miles) back there to get it fixed. Why couldn't they value customer service and correct the problem instead of sending her away and telling her that they didn't have the tools to realign her drain plug? read more

Do not visit this Valvoline for anything more than an oil change. I went in for a simple oil change and the technician talked all the other services my car "needed" so I ended up getting a transmission fluid flush because it was one of the cheaper repairs. My car has been in and out of the repair shop ever since and I was told by my mechanic that all the fluids that I had "replaced" at this Valvoline were filthy. Whatever they did to my car they didn't put in new fluids. That was my first and last time going to Valvoline anywhere. I've wasted so much money because of visiting this place. read more
