These guys are very chill, no upselling no pressure, they don't guilt trip you if you say no to anything. There was a problem with my car that they didn't feel comfortable fixing and recommended me another shop since they only work with OEM parts. Came in on 1/10 for an oil change. Two days later, I get an alert on my car that the coolant was low and to pull over and check it. I was on a mountain highway at the time and NOT the time you want to hear that. Turns out, they noted that in the inspection but did not mention it me nor did they fill it. I also had to call customer service to get the invoice emailed to me as I had not received it by email as the technician said I would. And yep, it says coolant was low. I will go elsewhere next time as I need to feel my car is well maintained for mountain and freeway driving. read more

The service was fast and the staff was pretty friendly, however there is no transparency about the price. As we know the economy is tough, so I'm on a strict budget. The guy walked me through the options, I asked how much it would be in total for the 2nd option, he says without tax this is the price and then I asked again, how much it would be all together like for everything, like the whole price. He again says the price that the iPad shows not including tax. I proceed to choose the 2nd option, get my service done, they upsell me on a few things which i declined except for the coolant topper for 8 bucks. Finally, when it is time to pay, I am told it's 136. How did it go from 88+8+tax to 136? The guy says because my car uses more oil. And I say but this is not the price I was given and again he says because the car uses more oil. I understand that the car uses more oil and at this point I'm going to HAVE to pay this price. But my point is why am I quoted one price and then slapped in the face with another? Basically, the manager I come to find out was the one that quoted me the price, says he is sorry, but neither tried to adjust the price or at the very least direct me to a website with a coupon or something to make the moment right. So are you truly sorry if you won't make it right? Crappy customer service experience, will not be returning which is unfortunate because the service on the car itself was great but, not being transparent with the customers is a big reason to not trust this company. read more

Pricing seems to increase with each visit. And the "free fluid top offs" that they previously touted as included in the price are a thing of the past. Now they want between $5-10 to give you a fluid "top off" depending on what the fluid is. During this visit, I got the "your battery has corrosion pitch" with a $10 service offer of cleaning it up and putting a coating (which you can just use petroleum jelly...look it up in your cars owners a manual) on it to prevent corrosion. The ironic thing is my wife is sitting next to me, and says "apparently whatever they are selling doesn't work because I paid for that service the last time." Then I got the really hard sell of, "your coolant is low and I will have to put a note in the computer that you refused it, in case something happens after you leave, just so we are on the same page." They wanted $10 for it too. After I got home, I popped the hood and checked the level myself. What do you know? It was exactly at the "F" (full) line. I'm not sure how it was considered low according to their upsell service manual. Ironically my car was at the dealer for a belt replacement earlier that week, and the dealer told me they performed a multipoint inspection and everything was looking good. On the engine air filter, they were up front and said it looked good. (I had replaced 4 weeks prior.) After the hard sell this time, I called the service center at my dealer and asked about oil change costs. Turns out the dealer is within $5 of the price here AND still includes topping the fluids, multipoint inspection, and a even tire rotation. Something I will consider when I have an extra 20 minutes. read more

Update: We have contacted customer service and are awaiting a response. Our out of pocket expenses to repair the damages Valvoline has caused is up to $691.86 so far. The cause of all the damages is due to the oil filter installed incorrectly. Picked up truck from Simpson Chevrolet. They did an awesome job of cleaning oil the off the truck and replaced the oil filter that was installed incorrectly. Valvoline picked up the tab. Thank you Valvoline for making this mistake right. I've been coming here for my vehicle since it was purchased brand new. Even before that, I've taken my other vehicles here, so it's been quite a long time. Today, the guy (younger guy by the name of Edward) doing the tires and checking air filter, battery, etc forgot to put the battery cap on. Now this may not seem like a big problem to some, but it is, as it can turn into other issues down the line. So I would've NEVER known about the problem unless I opened the hood. Thankfully, they told me that I needed a new air filter so I drove literally 30 feet next door to OReilly Auto Parts to get a new filter. When I opened the hood, I saw that the battery cap was resting on top of the engine off to the side. When I walked back to the stall to talk to Edward with the cap in my hand, he asked if I heard it come off as I was driving and also apologized. Thankfully, it wasn't like every other time where I actually did just place my blind trust in Valvoline and their employees to do their jobs. It really sucks now that I have to check EVERY time now that they didn't forget something. Having to do that extra step takes the whole convenience factor away. But, we must be proactive. This store which is becoming more and more unreliable. The other thing that bothers me is when my family member brought their care here a handful of time, they broke her dipstick. It was never taken care of, they ordered the wrong one blah blah blah blah we just gave up. Just another yelper venting about a mishap. Edward is a nice enough kid who like to make fun of their calling out what they're doing in each bay. You know, like an auctioneer. He was making fun of it during my visit, which I don't mind. But dude, make fun all you want, I just ask you do your job right and make sure you follow all the steps. Here's some photos to validate my visit and story. I love Valvoline Instant Oil Change for the convenience. This was only our second visit but first time to this location. I love how quick everything happens. You're in and out. This is a must if you don't like to sit around. The only downfall is the cost. It is a lot more expensive than going to Walmart, or I think even something like Goodyear. The service was really great, everyone was very polite, quick, with smiles on their faces despite the crazy heat that was happening at the time. I had my oil changed here on 8/16/24. The team here is quick and attentive. Everyone I interacted with was kind, friendly, and professional. They patiently answered all my questions and never made me feel dumb for not knowing car stuff lol Prices are reasonable. I actually came back a few days later because my mechanic had mentioned that there might be a possible oil leak due to the filter being screwed on too tight so he suggested I just have it checked out to be safe. They were really nice about it! They checked the filter and told me everything looked fine but still changed my filter for me!
