Never ever again! This Valvoline was excellent for many years. Fantastic customer service. The crew were a team who spoke to each other professionally as they went through the steps for the oil change and vehicle checklist. Not anymore. Those days are gone. Only one guy who appeared to be management with terrific customer service skills and a sense of humor stood out as I saw him interacting with other customers. I asked the young guy working on my car if he would check my lights - No. I politely repeated that I wanted the directionals checked. He ignored me. When I was paying I asked the nice guy ringing me out if tire pressure and fluids were checked. He didn't know. I knew but didn't want to rat out the young guy who worked on my car. They had not been checked so the nice older guy filled the fluids and put air in the tires. The staff weren't focused on the cars they were working on, they were distracted, cracking jokes and more focused on each other like working on the cars was interrupting their play time. Not my friggin job to tell them what the checklist is. Very disappointing they so suck! Support your local gas stations and save yourself the headache. read more

I have always had a great experience at Valvoline in Methuen, Ma. They are thorough and fast. They let you know what you may need done, what is more important to do and don't apply pressure to help you with those additional services. The gentlemen have both been pleasant and had great senses of humor. Rick in Particular in Methuen, Was empathetic to my current car & Life situations, went out of his way to fix my visor for me that was hanging at no additional charge and smiling with pleasure to help. This review should have been done many months ago but I absolutely haven't forgotten not feeling rushed, not being pressured and yet considerate of my time and helping in areas that they did not have to. do not go to this valvoline, they ran out of synthetic oil and furthermore, the boy with the afro left the cap off and my car couldve been totaled if i hadnt gone to another valvoline 8 miles away. the oil was everywhere on mt engine, how could you do this to my car??? if i could give this 0 stars i would. please take this seriously, this valvoline and it's employees could be a threat to you and your vehicle. read more

Fabulous visit! I went to the Gorham Street one in Lowell after reading their reviews and seeing the fabulous reviews. It was slightly further away from me, but the ones at my local Valvolines (Methuen and Haverhill) weren't great, so I felt better going here. Well worth it. The team was excellent, professional, and didn't try to upsell anything (they showed me the cabin air filter and said it didn't need replacing). The whole process was smooth and easy - I was able to pull right in and was out of there in under 15 minutes. Will absolutely be back. read more

Came in today for an oil change. I'd never been to a Valvoline before so parked and went in to inquire. The worker told me that I was supposed to stay in my car, not enter the building, but as mentioned I'd never been there before and wasn't aware. As I turned to leave he said, "Read the f&@$ng sign next time". I realize most businesses are short staffed and stressed out, but this was uncalled for and management needs to be made aware. Super quick, friendly and most importantly NO repeated attempts at selling you garbage (well, except once with my brand new car asking if I need wipers-But that was actually kinda OK because I did replace the factory ones immediately as they sucked). Before my yelping days, I lived in Lowell. This was my go to oil change spot. Every time I came, I was greeted with a smile and serviced promptly. I do wish they had a nicer waiting area. This location has drive thru bays but you don't wait in the car. Prices are the higher than other oil change spots but they DO check fluid levels as advertised and they vacuum my car EVERY time. Go on their website and print a $5 coupon or ask for a student discount. Unlike Valvolines in Boston, this place does offer student discounts. (or atleast they did a few years ago) read more

Interesting new management. I was turned away and they didn't service me. They claimed there was a crack in my oil pan. They showed me some "clean" oil drips on my pan near the plug. 1) very odd it was clean oil 2) there are no drips in my garage 3) the line they were pointing to was a straight weld line, part of the Honda build process. While the guys were making this decision they dropped, and lost my radiator cap, BUT they did come up with a new replacement. Obviously having a bad day !! Note 24 hours after wiping of the clean oil - there is no sign of a dirty oil leak. Never mind new clear oil leak. read more

Wow! These guys are really great. This was my second visit and I had super quick, excellent and very thorough service with a smile. I have a toddler so I love the fact that Valvoline lets you stay in your car while you wait. The manager here really seems to care about his customers. He pointed out that I needed my break pads replaced and then helped me find a mechanic to replace them. They called ahead and ordered the parts I needed so all I had to do was pick them up at the front desk. I just replaced the breaks in my other car and the mechanic charged me $1500!!!!!!! The Valvoline guys found me a mechanic that charged me under $100!!!!!!! Today they made a lifetime loyal customer. I can't Recommend them enough. read more

Everyone on the crew was more than happy to give me advice for furthur maintenance on my car and also offered additional services and recommendations. The crew also helped me figure out I had the wrong dipstick in my engine and the last guy over filled my pillow last time about 2 or 3 quarts!!!. Clean, extra courteous and quick. I like the fact that you stay in the car while they change your oil, I didn't have to take the sleeping kids out of the car. It took about 15 mins, quick. You do pay extra for the convenience, just south of $40 for a regular oil change. Maybe this is in line with other place. I typically pay closer to $25. read more

I did oil change for my two cars on here on yesterday and today, Sunday. On my first visit, asst. manager was VERY friendly and professional. He checked all my fluid and tire pressure as well. I felt really good because he did everything as advertised. Price was little higher than local shops but for convenience and brand name, I am willing to pay little extra. On 2nd visit, they didn't check my tire pressure. It was on Sunday and Ass. manager was not there. This is why I am giving 4 starts. I will visit only Weekdays and Saturday. No Sunday. Other than that, everything went very smooth. I guess I will visit this store from now on. No more looking for deals on local shops for me. I got my service on 03/05/21, they forgot to refill the new oil. I drove out with an empty engine, about half of the miles engine light showed up I pulled over and check, it was empty!!!!. I was very disappointed when I was charged an additional $10 for a "premium" filter....never heard of this before, and was never charged this at other places. Looks like a "bait and switch" scam to me. Also, upselling was annoying. Otherwise service was fast, workers were polite and professional, and it was convenient not to have to get out of the car. Go here all the time for an oil change they always have great customer service and always and tell u any information u need to know when u have a question. I never leave unhappy. Only one time I had to go back because my oil was leaking through my bult and they told me to come in and they took care of me and fixed my bult. They explained what happened and fixed everything and even gave me another oil change with no charge! I will continue to go back to them I highly recommend. read more

Got oil change at Valvoline Lowell. They offered to change cabin air filter. $39. Said no. Price dropped to $29. OK. They went into glove compartment, no old filter. Put in new filter. I drive out a happy guy. THEN, found out that the fan didn't work at all. Went back; they looked at it, reassured me, just a wire or something. Half-hour later, claiming it wasn't their fault. Couldn't be. Just a coincidence. Long discussion. Demanded call regional manager; he repeated what they told me, said that if I wanted to take to their mechanic, who was half-hour away, MAYBE they could see that it was their fault. Maybe. I requested a call-back from whoever was next up the line. Didn't get it. At that point, other issues in my life intervened. But I had no real expectation of getting my fan fixed. Small potatoes. But they told me that they had seen a transmission drop out of a car when it left the place, and it wasn't their fault. NOTHING has ever been their fault. They are perfect. How nice for them. Just getting my fan replaced, apparently the corner of the new filter whacked it pretty good. $250. Beware. read more

I call them ask what time they were opened until, they say said 7:30pm, I thought great I can go there after work.. When I got there at 5;00pm, I was told there closing to come back in the next day. So I waited for the week end, they close at 5:00pm on Sundays, Nope they was closed at 3:00pm, when I got there.. I believe that, if you have a fancy car, that cost more to have the oil change, they treat you great. But if you have a simple everyday car, they just brush you away.. read more
