I'm a young, feminine person who doesn't know annnnyyything about cars, PLUS my car is very girly, I am always worried I'm going to get taken advantage of (and I HAVE lol). My son went in to get the oil changed on my spare car that I don't drive a ton anymore. I wanted to get the 49.99 oil change. They had already drained the oil and then told him that due to the high mileage they had to use synthetic oil. Now I know it's not a requirement or a law that I must do anything but my son could not get them to listen. Then he asked about a military discount since he was getting the oil changed for his Dad who is retired military. She called him a liar and said she has worked their for over a year and she knows he can't be. In the end my son was called a liar, was charged over 100 bucks and left feeling taken advantage of and humiliated. My husband is retired military and if she wanted proof he could have shown her proof . My husband texted a copy of is military id but my son was so upset he just paid and left. I called corporate but basically got told a district manager would need to call back. I tried calling the store directly but it rings right back to corporate and I had already waited over a hour there!! Don't waste time here all you get is bait and switched!! read more

My oil change light came on and I went to have my oil changed. I had Frankie talking and explaining everything to me. They topped off my fluids and put air in my tires. The gentleman under my car was Will and before he put in the oil he saw my oil pan was rusted and I had a slight leak. Instead of ignoring it and taking my money he took a picture and brought it to me. Both he and Frankie told me in good conscious they couldn't fill my oil and gave suggestions on local places to go to get it fixed. It's nice to see a place where an older woman by herself is not taken advantage of by someone. I'm in the process of buying a new car and will be returning to them for my oil changes. read more

This was the 1st time I ever went to an oil shop and my car started smoking after my oil change. This was my 2nd time at a valvoline 1st time was a great experience this time I very unimpressed with my service. My car was smoking after my oil change and they didnt reimburse me a penny for my inconvenience. They screwed up by over filling my oil and not properly cleaning it off before I left. In order for it to be inspected I had to wait an hour and then they told me it could take 24 for the burning smell to completely go away. Worse oil change I have ever had. I will never go back 89$ for an oil change that smokes isn't worth it. Now I have to take it to my car shop to make sure they didn't really screw up my engine. read more

Terrible customer service. The assistant manager was rude and defensive and threw his colleagues under the bus. We were told a special oil filter would be in today and when we called, we were told it was in and to stop by. When we arrived the oil filter was not in and the assistant manager, Jordan, blamed his colleagues at the call center for the error. He was incredibly rude and made no offer to make amends for the error. Would not recommend. read more

This place is a joke!! Dont ever go here! They used a screwdriver to open my hood,broke it then said there were recalls on my hood. I called Fords corporate center and there has never been a recall on Ford Fusion hood latches. They would not apologize and basically told me " they didn't know what tell me,they were not claiming responsibility" I would have never expected this kind of treatment from a name like "Valvoline" I will never go to them and I will make sure none of friends or family use their services ever again. read more

If you go through a fleet acct they will go out of their way to overcharge. A conventional oil change turned into a full synthetic and a $25 charge turned into a $106. Ridiculous. Fleets should avoid this place. read more

I'm hesitant about oil change places. I was turned off by hard-sell techniques at some garages I went to. Fortunately, the Valvoline Instant Oil Change chain was a needed breath of fresh air. The staff here was very friendly, courteous and helpful. What I especially liked was that there was no hard-sell, and recommendations were based on mileage and quantifiable data as much as possible. Not questionable recommendations or up-sell attempts. I've seen lower prices, but the work was very speedy and professional. The price was comparable to other chains, but the service really shined. The only thing I have to ding them on is that they wanted my address. I hope they don't send too many promotional mailings to it. An opt-out option would be nice. Give them a call beforehand to get prices. There's also a lot of services that they can do at once, and check their website for coupons to save a few bucks. read more

Service was rude. Oil cap was not screwed on tight and I noticed as I was on the highway that the hood had not been closed completely.

I have been going here since 2004 since it is convenient for me when I am going to work. Yes it is cheaper to do things yourself, but for those of us who are too busy, too lazy, or just physically unable to do things yourself this is a great option. Yes they are always trying to sell you something, but some things are useful in keeping your car working right. On one occasion, they picked up on a mechanical problem that I was unaware of and I was able to get it repaired at a repair shop before it became a big problem. My 2003 vehicle has just turned over 120k miles and is still running great after receiving most of its maintenance here. read more

Dude got in my car while I was waiting in the "lounge" for the tires to be rotated. WHY? There was no need to get in my car for over 5 minutes. Got in -- without a grease mat for the floor -- or a cover for the seat in his grimy clothes (on my light tan seats). WHY?? I mentioned it to the Mgr - he said "hey its not like he stole anything - we have cameras." Wait -- what?? I never said he stole anything - I just wanted to know WHY he was in there to begin with. The Mgr told me that the dude was resetting my "oil life' message --- Umm.... but the mgr had ALREADY reset that with me (standing outside of the car) while I was sitting in the car. So, if he knew that was what he was doing in the car - why didn't he say "hey bud I already did that -- and by the way - don't get in the customers car without permission OR mats and seat covers"? I have been to this location 40-50 times --- nope -- not again. Service has slipped -- NOT COOL -- stay the f*@k out of the car. read more

Coming off of a bad experience with another oil change company, I decided to drive 10 minutes further from my home to go to Valvoline. It was well worth the extra time to get here. Early impression was their professionalism (uniforms, well staffed, pleasant and engaging demeanor) and trustworthiness (told me oil change was good for 5k miles while some companies tell me 3k). Small things adding up to that fact that I have confidence in them and they are worth the extra miles. read more

Very bad experience at this location. After an oil change that cost $105.00 (yes I agreed to everything) I drove a mile away to have my nails done and when I came out my car was ticking and my RED ENGINE LIGHT (not the check engine light) was on. I immediately drove back to Valvoline and when they saw the gauge that was lit they made me turn the car off and pushed my car into the bay. They claimed it was a faulty oil filter but I think they either didn't put the new oil in or didn't tighten something and it leaked out. They were very concerned and four employees were all over it. It worked when I left but I will never go back and do not recommend them. read more

Someone checked me in, then waited in line for a half hour. When it was my turn, they didn't have the correct filter for my car. They said go to North Olmsted, they should have it. Since I have all the time in the world to wait in line, then drive a half hour away to a place that SHOULD have it. No thank you. I will not be back. No wonder you need to sell groupons. It's not even worth it then. They should have at least given me a coupon or something to try and make up for it. They aren't even encouraging people to come back. read more
