I have been next in line for 30 minutes. Some people might question what service the car in front of me got. However, I waited probably 25 to 30 minutes for the car that was two in front of me to get finished once I got here and they were already in the bay when I arrived. This is absolutely the slowest Valvoline I have ever been to. I typically get it done in Lexington and have lived here five years and have avoided doing most things in this town because the people in Richmond are terrible. This will be my one and only visit. I am typically in and out in 10 to 15 minutes at the Richmond Road location in Lexington. It shouldn't take over an hour to service two vehicles. read more

Went here for an oil change (obviously). Service was really good. They were great about making sure that the order you came in in was the order you got served in. Customer service was nice. The only issue was that it was really hard to hear them, not over sounds of the shop, but over other people yelling at each other in the shop. First time getting my car worked on alone, didn't have a lot of the info they needed, they still did everything right. They didn't try to oversell me anything, the oil costed what I knew it should. They also gave me a coupon for 20 dollars off. Good stuff. read more

I got there around 7:45 Am Saturday November 23rd. They had been open a few minutes. I pulled into the Bay and was greeted by Bryan. He was telling me that he had forgot his safety glasses at home, he also informed me that the Boss had locked up all the supplies so he had to wait till Harbor Freight opened at 8 in order to have Gloves (Not sure why a customer needs to hear this) A young Gentleman under the hood (Had a Mullet) Loudly said " Where's the Dipstick on this car?" Not giving a lot of hope of a Quality Oil Change!! Then Bryan asked me " If My Car was Slow starting as of Late?" Not really what you wanna hear when headed out on a long trip. I said No why? He informed me that there Battery tester was broke and Valvoline would not get them a new one. Thus they had no way to test Batteries. Is that not a Free service they advertise? So needless to say after paying $65+ I rolled out of the bay. I drove to Meinke and had check my Battery (Which was fine) Everything was snug and all caps replaced!! Not sure what kinda training Valvoline Offers but that Crew needs another Session!! read more

Had my oil changed there on June 30, 2022. By August 1 my car was no longer running. Took it to a certified mechanic and my car was more than FOUR quarts over. Valvoline did not drain my old oil and just added to it. Needless to say, my motor is a mess. I'm a travel nurse dependent on these companies to keep me mobile. I'll be watching and checking the oil from now on. Just unbelievable. read more

I'd give less than 1 star if I knew how. Just left this place. Waited over 45 minutes in line with no cars moving thru the bay. Backed up 6 cars deep and people were getting out of cars asking what was the problem. Thankfully the car behind us left which allowed us to back out. We won't be back. Staff came out twice (2 different workers) to scan our vehicle ID... we were 3 cars deep at that point... they really should have finished either of cars in bay to move the line instead of scanning cars that were at least 45 minutes from entering bay. Went to get a oil change, bought a groupon, still added 17.00 to the total. Then set hour and 15 mins for them to tell me they couldn't do a oil change due to a stripped bolt.. ams refused to refund my 60.00 because it wasnt there fault... NEVER go there it's ridiculous read more

Absolutely the worst Valvoline I've ever been too, slow isn't the word to describe them. It's a horrible location to pull into if your driving a large vehicle and they will often ask you to back out and change lanes for whatever reason. read more

They went above and beyond about my car needs and we're all so kind. I appreciated that they explained all the details about my car since I am not well-versed in auto mechanics. They went out and go a part for me even though they did not have to especially since it was close to their closing time. I've been to this Valvoline twice since I moved to the Richmond area. The first time I came home and the car was dripping oil which sometimes is normal after an oil change. But after two weeks it was still dripping oil. My boyfriend got under there and found that the plug on the oil pan was not tight. So they did not tighten it very well after the oil change. About 4000 miles later I went back to give them a try. Told them to make sure they tighten that nut down. Got home and realized after checking the air in the tires they never put back all my chrome valve stem caps. So I called them up and told them they were missing. They offered to put black plastic ones on and I said no I came in there with the chrome ones I want my chrome ones back. Then they told me they would have to look at the security cameras to find out who did the tires and what they did with the caps. They said they would call me back immediately. That was two weeks ago and I've never gotten a call back. Bad service two times is enough for me and I will not be returning to this Valvoline. read more

Service as expected at this VIOC. However, it's an older building and the drive entrance is very narrow with a sharp turn into narrow bay doors... Beware if you have a vehicle any larger than a sedan! The young attendant attempted to guide me in and almost had me destroy the side of my vehicle (he's watching mirrors only). Had to maneuver back & forth a couple times to get completely straight shot into service bay - even then side mirrors only had a few inches clear. They push additional services and upgrades that are not always needed or required. I understand they are trained to do this, but unless your in-the-know they will sell you something you don't need. read more

Not happy with the service I received. Pulled in to get an oil change which there was a line for already. 2 vehicles in one lane and 1 in the other so I went behind the 1 vehicle. I was then told to back up to let the car in the other lane in front of me because they were there first. Personally I feel that's uncalled for. He chose the line to be in so therefore I shouldn't be pushed back in line. This is not good business practice and I will not be returning to this valvoline or any other one for that matter. I was traveling from Knoxville to Detroit when a check engine light came on in a car I'd just purchased in Tennessee for my son. I'd been concerned the transmission fluid was slightly overfilled when I checked the fluid levels prior to the trip but decided it likely wouldn't cause a problem. I came into this Valvoline station and was quickly helped by a friendly young woman whose name I didn't catch. She ran a quick check with an OBD scanner than showed the cause of the check engine light was a transmission fluid sensor fault. She reset the light, and then vacuumed out the excess transmission fluid down to the correct level. She wouldn't charge me for this service, and we made it back to Michigan without another problem. I only wish this place was closer to my home so I could use them all the time! They seem like good honest people that came to my rescue when I needed them. Thanks!! read more
