Pretty disappointing experience. It took an hour total time for an oil change. Most of this is due to waiting around. When I finally got into the second bay, they started servicing my vehicle. Here is where it just went downhill though, they finished servicing the other car in bay one after 10 minutes of me waiting around. Then they complete the service for the vehicle that just pulled into that newly empty bay one BEFORE they complete my oil change. I spent 20 minutes waiting for them to service other vehicles. With this service time, I might as well go to my dealership without an appointment. It's just a bunch of high school kids working here but they charge the same as the dealership too. read more

Took our Ford Escape in to the Rosemount location on February 4th, 2026. Everything seemed to go well. They did say we needed a new battery and that it would be $229.99. We declined and just went with the oil change. A day or so later a smell started coming into the car when it was running and driving under normal conditions. Thought it was odd so took it into a Ford dealership to have it looked at. They let us know that the oil cap wasn't put back on properly and that essentially the oil was spraying and coating the engine bay. They put the cap back on correctly and did a deep clean on the engine bay and we paid $209 out of pocket for their mistake. At this time we also had the battery tested (at no charge) and were told the battery was totally fine and did not need to be replaced. We filed a claim and provided the paperwork from the dealership describing Valvoline's error and were told that on the video it shows they put the cap on. They may have put it back on, but not correctly. We are now out the $209 due to their error and them not wanting to correct it. Fortunately Rosemount does now have a lot of options for oil changes and I would recommend you find somewhere else. read more

I was at my dad's so I went to this location while he was playing cribbage. There was no wait. The guys working were all so nice and helpful. I just get anxiety though because I don't know if I'm supposed to tip. I used a card and they don't have you sign anything to add one and I don't carry cash so I hope I'm not being rude by not tipping. The oil changes can get expensive. I get regular oil and it's $51 normally. I've always been able to google and find a 50% off coupon. I end up paying $27, not bad. And they report to carfax so I get credit to keep my warranty valid by having maintenance done. I also appreciate that they check all the lights and fluid levels. It's nice because it's so hard to miss when a light has gone out. I'll also echo what others have said, I appreciate that they don't try and pressure you into buying other things, that always makes me uncomfortable. read more

Changing your car's oil shouldn't feel like such a chore, luckily there's drive-in oil change facilities like this gem in Rosemount. Quick and out in under an hour and you don't even have to get out of your car. Their prices are pretty reasonable, ahem, cheap; and they always have some coupon or a special going on. Who doesn't love a good coupon! They also don't try to shove down your throat, or shame you into getting additional services that your car or your wallet doesn't need. I've been going to Rosemount Valvoline for ~20 years with 2-3 cars but no longer. About a month ago my son was home from college and I wanted to get an oil change on his 2012 MINI Cooper Countryman. Waiting in a short line I pull in after ~15 minutes. The Tech said, "We are out of SAE 0W-30 and have no filter for your car. OK, chalk it up to supply chain issues, told to call back Thursday as that's when a shipment arrives. Not in a hurry so waited for son to graduate college and come back home from Ames. Fast forward to July 8th, had some time so rolled over in my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder like I have always done and got an oil change: Vehicle: 2001 Nissan Pathfinder, 265,745 miles. * Air Filter Replacement * MaxLife Oil Change Told the Tech about my experience last month so he looked up my Mini Cooper countryman and said, "We have the OW-30 but don't have the filter. If you grab one from O'Riellys across the parking lot we can install and do the oil change." So good right, go about my day running other errands and pick up the oil filter. Roll in ~5pm, young tech in the Mini. Young Tech says ~40 minutes but needed to get it done. Training incident led to a 90 minute wait on the Ford Focus in front of me, no problem. So roll in, say millage and put keys up on dash. Tech says, "We don't have a filter". No problem, was told earlier so I picked one up. Good to go right? Nope, we don't have the OW30 like I was told previously in the day. Never going back there, however, I do not blame the young Techs. Valvoline has failed and with 6 technicians running around while 2 do all the work they could come out and scan, do an inventory check, etc.... Instead I wasted over 3 hours to no avail. read more

I was very disappointed when I tried to get my oil changed from this location, because they did not open when they said they would open. Their website, as well as the signs that they have posted, all say that they open at 8AM. I checked a few different times between 8:00 - 8:20AM, and there was nobody there. I was not able to wait any longer because I had to go to work. I am very frustrated, because I specifically left early to get an oil change on my way to work, because it was the only day that worked with my schedule, and now I am going to have to figure out a different day to get my oil changed. Them not opening when they say they would open has caused me a lot of inconvenience. It is very poor customer service to say the least. read more

Recently moved to MN, lived in CA and didn't drive for 8 yrs. Haven't had to drive let alone in the snow and ice. The car is a hand me down w/over 270k miles on it. I'd gotten an oil change a few weeks ago, realized there was a leak of some kind and brought my car in for a top off. I won't be able to afford the repairs for a few weeks and the guy helping me was super nice, told me where the leak seemed to be, come in regularly for a top off, until I can get it repaired. He helped calmed my nerves and didn't make me feel foolish. The people there have all been very helpful and friendly and I can't say enough good things about them! read more

I am very impressed with the crew at this store. My battery was dead and it would have been a 2.5 hour wait for AAA. They came across the parking lot and charged the battery and then installed a battery within 15-20 minutes. They were very helpful and willing just to provide the charge. Good for oil changes and that's about it, there are better Valvolines in the area to give your money to. Seems like just a bunch of high school students, did not know how to change my headlight and told me to go elsewhere. read more

A few weeks ago my wife had a flat tire and called Valvoline to ask if they would come out and change it for her. As she had both our young kids in the car she was somewhat raddled. Valvoline sent out one of their technicians to change the tire. While he had the car jacked up on the side of the road the car fell off the jack and came crashing down on the wheel-less rim. In addition to that the force of the fall misaligned the tail gate and caused over $800 worth of alignment damage. When the technician had this happen he took full responsibility about it ad felt bad. We minimized the damage costs as much as possible. When I went back to the shop to discuss the charges they took no responsibility and left me with the damages and to pay for it. I will never use them again and would strongly encourage you also to not use them. Their integrity is shot and we have been loyal customers for 10 years with both of our vehicles. read more
