I have gone here for some time. They changed managers. I was there two weeks ago, and, yesterday when I finally checked my oil it was over filled by a quart. I can't believe I drove 1500 miles on an over filled oils system, very bad for a car.. And of course all they will say is hey, drive 60 miles back to our store and we will drain some out.. not cool.. and of course, there is no recourse read more

Pros: They didn't forget to put my drain plug on (apparently a common issue amongst Sioux Falls oil change places), they actually were able to locate and install a filter for my car, and Cal was one chill dude. Cons: egregiously expensive. I paid $130 for my oil change. My car takes 7.3 quarts so I get that they charge extra for every quart past 5 but cmon that is getting silly. They also weren't very quick with it and tried the classic upsell on filters and the wipers etc. I usually do all the maintenance on my vehicles since I dont trust all but one shop but due to a massive skill issue on my part I embarked on a road trip without registering that I would need to change my oil during the trip. So this shop gets the job done in a pinch, and Cal was a great dude. But unless you want to pay through your proverbial butthole and risk getting your drain plug stripped, please do it yourself. read more

I won't be getting my oil changed there again. I couldn't find my 50% off coupon so I found a $25 off coupon. I got changed $10 a quart with a 6 quart vehicle. Even after the $25 off it still was over 90 dollars for just an oil change. No wipers, no air filters, nothing but an oil change. I'll be going someplace else. read more

Certainly memorable. Waited here 2.5 hours, starting at 1:27 pm, behind a truck getting a tire rotation while they struggled to screw the rear left wheel off and on multiple times (I counted five times but no telling how many prior to me showing up). Couldn't move a single car across any of the three lanes (even for standard oil changes) for anything less than 45 minutes. I'm sure it'll be laughable one day, but dang was Valvoline disappointing. read more

Friendly fast and open on a Sunday. Our change oil light came on and then we got down to less than 3% on our new vehicle while traveling from Montana back home to Michigan. I would normally take it to a dealership being new and all, but couldn't risk waiting another day of driving as the oil life % was decreasing at an alarming rate. Read the reviews for several in the area open on Sunday. We chose this one due to the good reviews. They didn't disappoint, we made it home safely and the truck was all good. I DID get the oil redone once I returned home (because it was free) and I had the dealership check that everything was good which it was. Do not go here!!!!! Came for an oil change around 4:13pm waited for a bit oil change may have took about 20-30mins apprx during the services the employees weren't very friendly or professional. They complained the entire time about the line of cars they had behind us. No other services were offered. Air filters weren't offered to be changed or checked. Was just fishy to me as to why what I was paying for was not being met on all levels. Manager Marcus and other manager Chris on duty came to help us after we left and was 2.4 miles away from the 41st street location. We stopped because our car alerted us that the oil pressure was low. When we pulled over all oil was seen leaking out. The managers arrived checked the car added more oil and advised that we drive back so we drove about 3 blks and then I said to pull over because my engine may get blown then spoke with the managers and they finally said they will get it towed. So here we are 3hrs later waiting at this location again on 41st. Refund is offered and Marcus said he will personally inspect the car although he is not certified mechanic. My car is covered in oil spill! Who will pay for the inspection and clean up! I discovered after chatting with customer service that no one is certified mechanics all just trained. They said the reason for this incident was a defected part however one of these 3 while changing the filter used a tool and tightened so hard the car moved while they were putting it on. So the managers cleaned up their employees mess and while doing so I asked if they had checked the air filters and still said no after my request even when it's already included in the service so because i said we'll please check em then they finally did. The customer service just wasn't there. Poor customer service and management service. Do not go here! I had to do their job by supervising the supervisors and employees. The service here is pretty decent. They treat you with respect. They get the job done and they do it right. Like any chain auto shop, they do try to upsell with fluid changes, air filters, etc. That's to be expected. It's not like they treat you like crap afterwards though. They pulled me into the garage, checked them out, determined that they were all just a little low, fixed them up and got me on my way. Both the techs that helped me out were super nice. I went in for a replacement headlight. I went in 3 separate times for the same issue in about a week. All 3 times the headlight stopped working. The last time I went in the mechanic(s) were not sure what they did would fix the issue and actually had quite a bit of doubt. If this company replaces headlights I would think they would know what they were doing but apparently that is not the case. Valvoline stop fixing headlights unless you know how to fix the problem. I wasted about 4 hours driving to and from the shop and waiting in line. That includes call time to try to resolve the issue with their corporate office. The corporate office said they would call me but never did. read more

So let's start with the fact this business's sales pitch is based on speed and definitely not price or qualified technicians or experience, just a 10-15 minute oil change that takes an HOUR! I was there one day watching them do their sales pitch to my friend who was having his work truck serviced. Having worked in the industry for many years and having run a shop and worked at dealerships I was curious how well they did their job. 1. They won't point out the items that need serious attention even if it means your safety if they don't service that work. E.g. brake fluid. Next to us was a red older Cadillac and I noticed the brake fluid was green!!! Green. The color comes from the high copper content in the fluid which means it has never been changed or has been so long it has probably destroyed the seals and compromised the brake system. They didn't even point it out to the owner, that at some point his brakes could fail, his brake cylinder could fail due to the rotted seals. Why because they don't do brake fluid. He also had a tire that was so worn the belts were showing. What does that mean it means the insides of the tire the parts that keep the tire together were now exposed and a rock or a pot hole and the tire could rupture and cause an accident. Did they say anything as they aired them up. No! I asked the service guy if he was going to mention these things. No, he said they don't service those items. I went to the owner of the car and mentioned he should take his vehicle to any dealer he trusts and have these items looked at as well as the rest of the vehicle. I explained that when they do the brake flush his master cylinder may fail due to the rotted seals I ha e seen it happen a lot when the fluid is that bad but at least he would have safe brakes. Brake fluid is hydrophobic and absorbs moisture in the air and contaminants over time affecting the boiling point and the effectiveness the main factors needed in brake fluid. This "maintenance" facility also allowed a woman to put the wrong type of oil her car REQUIRES based on the manufacturers specifications thus voiding her warranty and damaging her engine. If you car in this case a BMW requires full synthetic oil you have to use it. They just sold her the oil change and let her go. As the car "expert" their job is to educate and do right by the customer and the car, not just take money and run. I later found out this place has done a lot of damage to a lot of vehicles over the years they performed a transmission flush on a Subaru that only had 40,000 some miles on it and did so incorrectly and had to purchase a new one for the vehicles owner. And the same person owns all three in town. You may save a little time but would you have surgery based on how quick you could get in and out and not worry about the real price you are paying. I mean our cars are usually the 2nd most expensive thing we own. Don't use Valvoline. The reason the staff call out what they are doing is because they have damaged so many vehicles they have to call out heir work to remind them what they are doing, in what order and pray their coworkers tell them if they are messing up. LASTLY MOST DEALERS RUN SPECIALS, MATCH PRICES AND WILL DROP YOU OFF AT WORK OR HOME SO DON'T GO HERE JUST BECAUSE ITS QUICK GET THE QUALITY YOU AND YOUR CAR DESERVES GO SOMEWHERE ANYWHERE ELSE. Just look at the other honest review about how her car ran worse after being here. By the way most of these employees I found were either on work release from prison or had been there. One employee turns out took a customers info from her receipt and stalked her online then at her job since her work badge had been left in the car ( i have a few mates on the police department who advised me of these facts). read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. First off the prices are ridiculous, I understand that sometimes they are company set but they are outrageously high. When I went to get my oil changed they made me feel stupid and unknowledgeable about my car. They recommended services that were not needed for my car and the same goes for my friend. I ended up having more problems with my car after visiting them and found myself at 12th Street auto (a very reliable and reasonably priced auto shop that pointed out their bullshit as well).
