I have been going to Valvoline for years as I appreciate how I can go in and out, stay in my vehicle, and they never push me to do anything I don't need to. There was a bit of a wait today, and the GM came out to each car to let us know approximate wait time which was appreciated. I waited about 45 mins before going in, but once I was inside, it only took about 15 minutes to do my oil change. I went for an oil change and it was maybe an hour before closing and the wait was minimal. I especially like the fact they let me stay in my car during the entire change so i could see what was happening. This also allowed them to keep me informed on what they found during their basic inspection which included a basic fluid top off, tire pressure check ( as the last place I went to overfilled 3 of my tires by more than 6 psi, and deflated 1 by 3 psi). One trick that less scrupulous places try is an air filter trick to get you to change your air filter by swapping it to show you a filthy one they have on hand. They pulled it out in view and even told me the grit on there was minimal and I had about two more oil changes before it needed to be changed. Awesome! I had no issue using a digital coupon on my phone for the oil change. They informed me what type of oil the manufacturer requires, and we're very thorough. I will definitely come back. Everyone was extremely polite and professional. They were careful not to mess my hood lights I installed up, as those are installed with adhesive and pose a risk of shifting every time you open the hood. They listened to all of my concerns and answered all of my questions. I don't know how they do it in that small garage but there are approximately 4 people moving around between two narrow bays doing all of the services they offer and I have no clue how they don't run into each other. Their team communication was also good and allowed for what looked like smooth operation between them all. The oil change was pricey, even with a coupon. Anymore all basic car services seem to cost more than they used to and if I posed the skill and materials to do my own oil change, I would. But I don't and it is what it is and I choose them to get it done correctly. My only complaint was their sign was not lit up. It was after dark in December and it was hard to see where I was going to get there with how dark the parking lot is. I don't know if the timer was set for summer hours or if the sign doesn't light up, but for their safety and the customers, parking lot/auto waiting area and the sign should be lit after dark. Unfortunately the workers at this location are lazy and careless. They lack attention to detail and do not provide quality care. I've been coming here for about 6 years and it has gone downhill last 2 years. It used to be under great management and therefore the service was much better. Friendlier staff who engaged in polite conversation, took care in explaining what they were doing each step of the way, ensuring satisfaction with the service and making it right if not. Now aside from poor customer service, they mess things up. Last time it was leaving the cap off the coolant and causing it to overflow and burn on my engine which I then had to refill. This most recent visit, they over inflated my tires. Little things are what make the difference. I will be going elsewhere from now on. read more

I went here for an oil change about a year ago. The next oil change I went to (a different oil change place) found that my oil drain plug was stripped and leaking oil due to my last oil change. I now have spent $700 getting an entire new oil pan and drain plug replaced due to this incident. On this day, I was on my way out of town with a lengthy drive ahead and 3100 miles since my last visit to Midas; I needed a quick change. After a search on my phone, I found a $10 coupon for Valvoline Instant Oil Change and knew of a location on the way. Although I could find no price schedule, I assumed their prices would be comparable to what I had grown accustomed to at Midas. I don't understand how they can do work without telling you how much the work will be until it's completed. Final price with $10 coupon, $63 and change. Midas, same service, plus brake and tire tread check, and tire rotation, under $30. I'll not go to Valvoline again. read more

They talked me into replacing my serpentine belt and my car ended up braking down the next day and they did not help me what so ever. What a nightmare!! Do not go here! Took my car in to have oil changed and they forgot a part when putting it back together. The car is destroyed. The engine needs replaced. All of the oil drained out of the engine. Brand new sports car-ruined! The employees work on commission based on the number of repairs they complete. Shifty store manager Jonathan Bussard can't be trusted. He is a fast talking slime ball. When I told them what had happened they said, " I might have to run across the street and get a part-this has happened a lot lately." Do not go here!! First time at this location. I was first greeted my manager, John. Great personality!! I do not remember the name of my service tech but he had a great personality, also. They were all so nice and through. This location is closer to home and always seems busy. I have found my favorite location of the 3 I have been too. Also, this was a free oil change since I signed up for their emails and had several oil changes within a year. They are not high pressure on the other services that they offer. Also, something new they now do is they ask you to place your keys in a little black box kept outside your car so you do not accidentally turn it on while they are working on it. I am conflicted about what star rating to give this place.....and that rarely happens. Usually I am a cut and dry type of person. It is what it is with me. I don't over think things. The good: As soon as i pull up, I get in. No one in line. They start working on my car immediately. ALL OF THE GENTLEMAN working here were very nice and professional. Not pushy at all (I hate pushy salesman....yes I HATE them). They tell me what is recommended for my car and of course I decline everything because I have already had it done (and ummm hello...this is an oil change place not a dealership. I dont trust my rust bucket to just anyone). They get my oil changed quickly. Top off my liquids quickly. Change the turn signal light that was out quickly. Checked to make sure what they replaced was working and I was on my way. Here's the problem....when I came to work this morning the turn signal they replaced is no longer working. WTH???? REALLY??? Now I have to go back (I have 3 kids, a husband, a dog and work full time. NOT convenient). I am sure after I call them they will take care of the problem I just dont want to go back. My first time at a vavoline and it was a great experience. Definitely recommend trying to find a coupon (not the Groupon either, they don't accept those anymore). Typical oil change and service will run you about $45-$50 but with a coupon I had it only came to $21.99 They do a very thorough job and put air in your tires, top off you basic fluids (wiper, antifreeze), change your oil, check your filters. Their receipt will tell you the issues if you opt to say "no" (strongly suggest this as it will be much cheaper for you to go to a autozone or other auto store and get the parts yourself and either YouTube how to do it or take it back and they charge far less to put in. Great experience, great customer service! I would caution you if you drive a Ford super fleet or ford truck you will be waiting for a while as they have to call special services to service your call (pretty much ford way to try and make you go to dealership) read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I am in disbelief of how unethical this company is. Me and my husband brought my Ford Escape 2011 in for a regular oil change. We were recommended a transmission fluid flush based on Valvoline's recommendations. My car was running perfectly fine, and there was no report from Valvoline on any pre-existing problems with my car. My car has never had ANY issues before. We agreed on their recommendation, hoping that this was an honest and reputable company. After their "service" my car's transmission was completely ruined. We had to take it to another shop to confirm that there was damage done to the car. Valvoline would not take responsibility for any of their faulty work. The manager of the shop is the one who decided on our claim. This is similar to a criminal being their own judge, of course they would plead innocent. I now have to pay $3.5k dollars in damage repair. My car was completely fine, and never had any running issues beforehand. Now because of Valvoline I have to pay repair damage for half the value of my car with only 100k miles on it. They did not offer to reimburse or help with any of the costs. They said that they "suspect" there was damage before I had the change. If that were the case, that is considered negligence. They failed to report this so called "damage" that magically appeared after they tried to cover themselves for the thousands of dollars in repairs they cost me. Gave her a $10 off coupon, transferred $50 into her account and told her just to get a simple oil change. When she told them that, they told her that the recommended oil for that car is synthetic oil. Not having a clue what synthetic oil is she said yes. My wife is going out of town on a long trip in two days so I decided to take her Lexus to Valvoline for an oil change since it was due and didnt have eniugh time then to make an appointment anywhere else. I had a $15 off of for a synthetic change as her car calls for that. As I usually do I bring with me the file for the car which has all of the repair/maintenance documents. The charge just for the oil change was $89.99 or $78.72 after the coupon and tax. The last time I had the oil changed at Germain Lexus of Easton was $52.95. Included in the charges from Valvoline was a charge of $13.58 for 'Extra oil'. I.e. The Lexus takes 6.7 quarts so without telling the customer I figure Valvoline basic charge includes only 5 quarts then charges something like $8.00 per quart for their synthetic oil. I told the service manager what my dealer charges and he said he couldn't do anything and I don't doubt that as the pricing is probably driven by corporate but I told him that their pricing is so out of line I just can't see myself coming back. Ever. Not to mention all the up selling they do and the techs most often don't even know what they are selling. E.g. Fuel injector solution which is in most fuel that you purchase at the pump. They obviously are trained to use scripts but if you know enough you can ask them a question and don't have any response as you just took the off of their script. Anyway if your time is so valuable that you can pay an extra $30 for the convenience to have your oil changed at Vavoline then study up and know your car(s) so you don't get sold services you don't want or need. read more
