I don't even have words for how awful of a business this place is. I wish there was a way to give 0 stars. I typically do my own oil changes but hurt my back over the winter and took my Honda here as I couldn't get under it during recovery. Worst mistake I ever made. Finally healed up and went to go change my oil this morning They used an impact wrench on my oil pan drain plug and stripped the whole bolt into a circle. The bolt isn't extractable with a normal wrench/socket anymore. Just had to purchase a new bolt and extractor bolt set for $100 to remove the plug they ruined. All of this after they broke all the brackets off of my skid plate that protects the oil pan. Also broke a clip off of my air filter box. A $75 oil change is going to cost me $200+ in repairs out of my pocket. A #1 rule in the automotive world is to NEVER use any sort of air powered torque socket on a bolt that should be tightened only by hand to a certain specification. Please, at all costs, do not go to this place. It is honestly a shame this place is even still in business. I don't even know what to say for a mechanic standpoint. read more

they use additives that thicken the trannsmission fluid causing damage. Brought it to ford for a proper cleaning and found that Valvoline damaged the transmission, and Valvoline denied the claim because the put additive during warm weather, so the thick oil didn't cause issue. only when cold weather set in we found problem. read more

First time coming here and we received service by Jeff and Kent. Both were super friendly and super helpful. I asked for an oil change and that's exactly what I got. They did not try to sell me any other services. There were a few recommendations, but I was the one who asked them and Jeff kept it honest with me. I asked them not to touch anything, just change the oil. They tested the battery, started to take apart the air cleaner so I had to remind them that all I want is an oil change and get on with my life. After I left, the car handled like crap and the low tire pressure warnings were all lit up. I went straight to the garage for an inspection sticker where they told me there was almost no air in the tires. Vindictive pos! I will NEVER go there again. So after staying away from Valvoline for 2 years after having a bad experience at the Shrewsbury location i saw a groupon and needed a service and thought a different location would be a better experience I was close to many locations but chose Park Ave in Worcester When I arrived there was a wait, and a lot of people waiting which made me think it would be good. Staff was polite, pointed out they were busy and would be with me shortly. I was there 45 minutes waiting but was fine with it I did feel like the staff was all over the place, but as long as i got my oil changed i was fine Flash forward 6 weeks when my oil "hazard" light went off while i was on the highway, saying my engine needed to be turned off immediately I am a person who washes my car daily and keeps the interior clean, i love my vehicle and have i always stay on top of oil changes so i was shocked to see the warning message after such a short time, the sticker said at least a thousand miles before next change. Okay, so... i needed4 quarts of oil when i had it checked, my car had NO oil, not a drop HOW DID THIS HAPPEN???? Stopped in here to get my oil changed, they start putting air in my tires, which I feel like is completely normal until one of the guys doing it comes up to me and said one of my tires was over 20 psi more than what's recommended so he let some air out. This is a work vehicle so I figured somebody just put too much air in it. Not a big deal, I turn my car back on while I'm still there and my tire engine light came on so I told the men and both of them looked at the tag inside of my car and said it's supposed to be PSI 32 and they said once i drive it around it'll go away. Drove around for 10 minutes. The light did not go away so then I stop pull over and check the same tag that they did and see the PSI supposed to be 44, not 32. I then fill my tires up to 42 and the light disappears. this is concerning that they cannot accurately read where the psi on a tag is when they work at a Valvoline. read more

Avoid this valvoline at all costs. They don't care about the customers and certainly don't care to double check there work. At the end of the oil change on Friday 4/19 they showed me the dipstick which seemed full. Left it parked until I had to go to work Monday. I went to go pick up a co worker and went on the freeway and had to pull over to find oil leaking, oil splattered all throughout the bottom of my truck and the engine smoking due to whoever was working at the bottom not tightening the bolt enough. read more

The people that work here are extremely sweet, however I went for a standard oil change and they over filled my oil every time I get in my car it says "reduce oil level" so I called and asked and they said "we don't know why that's happening sorry" this has never happened before and right after I leave Valvoline literally down the street a warning popped up on my dashboard. This place really is a piece of work, I started working here for about a month in total til one day out the blue while I'm not even on the clock but I'm getting an oil change as a customer, the owner just pulls in pulls me to the side and fires me for "failing a background check" mind you I put all the information about my arrest and criminal record on my application. They still hired me and had me work a whole month and I only gotten 1 check for $150 then get told I'm fired.! read more

Not a very intelligent staff to say the least. This place checks all of your fluids for you when you are getting an oil change. They told my girlfriends mother, who drives a 2013 Ford Flex, that she had to bring her car to the dealership to check her transmission fluid levels because the cap is factory sealed. She brought the car home and it took me about 3 minutes to locate the transmission fluid cap (which was NOT factory sealed), and check her fluid levels. I was doing regular maintenance on my girlfriends 2015 Honda Fit the other day and noticed it was time for an oil change. So she stops by this place a few minutes ago and they tell her she doesn't need one and that she can go another few thousand miles. The oil is black and her oil change was due a few hundred miles ago. I've been around cars my whole life and know my arm from my leg. Unfortunately with work and bad weather, I don't have time to do my own/others oil changes as often as I'd like, so I bring my cars here. Usually when you bring your car to a place that specializes in oil changes, you'd expect them to know a few things about what's under the hood. This place lacks that knowledge and should be avoided. I'm not saying all Valvoline Instant Oil Changes are bad, but this is not a good one. Looks like I'll be changing my girlfriends oil when I get home! read more

This location manipulated my 17yr old daughter into paying way more than she was suppose to. She went in with a $25 coupon for a regular oil change and asked for a regular oil change. The manager, Jorge Ramirez proceeded to tell her that she needed synthetic oil in the car and could not use the coupon for that. He then asked her if she wanted him to do the oil change. She of course said yes because she thought that was her only option and paid $96 for it. He then tried to get her to replace the air filter for another $25 by pulling it out and showing it to her with leaves on it. She said no she couldn't afford to do that and he put it back in the car with the leaves still on it. Didn't even brush them off first. I have never had a bad experience at any Valvoline. The people here are nice, aren't pushy when you deny the extra services the are required to recommend, and are concerned about doing a good job. Also, nothing beats not having to get out of your car and an oil change done in around 15 minutes. read more

They totally ripped me off (as they apparently rip off all their customers). I paid ~$41 for 3.5 quarts of basic oil. They didn't tell me the cost until after they started draining my oil so I couldn't leave to go somewhere else. I had no idea they would charge so much. I see signs all over the Worcester area for $15-$25 oil changes so I pulled into Valvoline assuming it would be about the same. I was absolutely astonished when they asked me for ~$41. read more

I went to Valvoline on 445 Lincoln St Worcester MA today to get a basic conventional oil change and to inspect air filter/tires/fluid levels. The staff seemed irritated and upset with each other, so lack of teamwork is a problem. Then when I was shown my air filter, Jeffrey put it back in my car. When I left, I heard high-pitched, vibratory noise with acceleration which was not there before. I called them to complain and they told me to come back. After driving 10 minutes back since I went on the highway, they checked everything to be perfectly fine although Laylanie noticed that the air filter wasn't clipped properly. I had to drive around again and the noise was gone; however, this shouldn't have happened to begin with. And when I asked about a refund, they seemed pissed about it and told me to call a number where the office is currently not open. If they had clipped it appropriately, I wouldn't have wasted my time and they wouldn't have wasted theirs. Horrible experience. If I don't receive a refund, I refuse to go back their although I've been a loyal customer and I will let my friends know as well. read more

I usually go to Jiffy Lube and have to go through the whole, "don't take out my air filter I change it and I want standard synthetic please, that is all." Then I try to use a coupon that is only good in Mexico? Lol sick joke. I went to valvoline and talked with the guy about cars and casual conversation. He told me whenever I need to check my tire pressure or fluid levels between oil changes, it is complimentary because I am now apart of the "valvoline family." Great experience all around! And they show you the new oil level and color. Nice touch. read more

Polite and not pushy, Valvoline is a place that I will definitely return to for my transmission flushes and oil changes. They are knowledgeable and informative. They usually have some type of discount or promotional pricing available and let you know about any discounts without you having to ask or hunt it down yourself. read more
