We ordered a sectional couch in august 2022 - still waiting 5 months later!! Is this a legit company? They have some sweet talking customer service reps that keep giving you rosy scenarios about the new delivery time only a couple of weeks later - and then the dreaded email comes informing us about yet another delay. This is so totally unacceptable! And, according to reviews this happens a lot - click and bait, your order confirmation says delivery in 1-2 weeks and then the delays occurs. No refunds. Can we just talk about the actual audacity of this company. I ordered a couch almost 3 months ago. It was beautiful. Had a great sales person over the phone who has been great this whole process. Aside from that one individual every other person I spoke with LIED TO ME. Set undeliverable expectations. Told me my couch would be delivered four weeks ago- it was allocated- passed the inspection. They claimed they were having delivery problems.... TURNS OUT THEY LIED. They never really had a couch and then this supervisor has the legitimate nerve to tell me I'm basically not a priority when I spent $2000 and sold my old couch and was told they have no idea when I'll get one but just kept telling me she'd be more then happy to cancel my order. I'd like to start off by thanking Jemalyn, who is a customer satisfaction manager. She went above and beyond to resolve our issues in an expedite manner bringing positive closure to a bad experience. I spoke with a few representative who tried to help, but no one took the same initiative as Jem, she was great. For full transparency, below is my original review which was one 1 star. I revised my review based upon the amazing service and follow through of Jem, and we are now satisfied with our purchase. Here the original Absolute horrible buying experience with Valyou Furniture. The sales rep was nice and great, but everything went down hill quickly post sale. We were told that the delivery company would call the night before delivery to confirm a time and no call was received. The email I received said between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm, so I adjusted my day to be home. I received a call at 10 am informing me they were 5 min away. The sales rep mentioned the importance of keeping the original boxes in case anything needs to be returned and to ask the delivery team to leave the boxes. The delivery team showed up with the furniture already assembled without any boxes. The delivery team also informed us that they forgot to bring the shelves for both the units we purchased and that they would deliver the next day. I called and called the following days and no response. I called the delivery company and no response. I called the sale rep and no response. We received an email from the warranty team offering a 20% discount if we can keep the items as-is. What an insult! It's like buying a dresser without drawers, it's useless unless the furniture items are complete. I hoping that Valyou decides to fix this mess. Tl:dr - If you can afford to pay a little bit more to buy elsewhere, then I'd go with those options and avoid the headache with Valyou. Coffee table I purchased was broken, when asked if they can pick up the defective table and deliver a replacement, I was told I would be charged a $50 fee for them to take away the defective table that they sold me. Still haven't received bed frame ordered over a month ago. Horrible, slow communication. My review is in regards to 2 separate orders. My first order was for The Charm 2.0 bed frame - we placed this order in person at the Kaka'ako store on July 18th. We were told item would arrive to the islands mid-August which came and went without any update. The only way that I found out that the delivery was delayed was because I had to call to complain about the other order I placed. I placed an order through Valyou's website for the "Martel Living Room Set" coffee table. I used the "Need help? We are online" option on the web-site to chat with one of the service reps named Alexis to ask if I could pick up the table from their warehouse that day, as I was renting a truck to transport some other furniture. Alexis let me know that normally they need to schedule pick up, but she was able to speak with their logistics/operations manager and get the ok for me to pick up the coffee table today. Great! We go to warehouse that afternoon and pick up the table no problem, it came in a box and the guys at the warehouse even let us know that it was already assembled, which was nice since the web-site offered to request assembly of the item for $20. We get home, unbox the coffee table, and it's broken. This is a coffee table where a portion of it will "pop up" to an elevated position on a hinge - one of the legs of the hinge is loose so basically when it pops up, it's lopsided. I emailed service@valyoufurniture.com describing the issue and including pictures of the broken table, asking if it can be repaired or replaced. I received a prompt reply from Alexis apologizing for the defect, asking me to send a video showing the defect, and assuring me that things would be taken care of quickly (ha!). I send a video and receive no reply after that. The next day (Wednesday morning) I receive an automated email stating "your order is ready for pick up today between 11am - 2pm." I email Alexis stating I never received a reply after I sent the video, so I'm assuming this is the replacement coffee table that I'm being told to pick up. I remind her that I had to rent a truck to transport the furniture previously, and ask if the replacement table can be delivered instead, and for the delivery team to take away the defective table as well. No reply, so I call that afternoon and happen to get Alexis on the phone. She tells me she will check with their delivery team to see when the delivery guys can come to switch out the tables. This is also when I asked about my bed frame that I ordered a month ago, and she basically told me "oh yeah, the freight was delayed due to the pandemic, sorry no one told you." I'm told the freight should arrive around Aug 22nd so may be able to be delivered around the week of the 24th. Receive an email the next morning (Thursday) assuring me that she will contact me Friday to let me know a delivery time. Friday comes and goes, so I send an email Friday evening asking again regarding delivery. I receive an email Saturday morning stating the replacement table can be delivered as early as Monday (in 2 days), however "in requesting for our delivery team to haul-away the defect coffee table, it will be a fee of $50... That is according to our store policies." This is where I lost all faith in this company. You sold me a defective table, and you're going to charge me $50 to replace it? Even though you'll come to my house to deliver the new table for free, I for some reason have to pay to have the broken one taken away? This makes absolutely no sense to me. Anyways, I decide to just rent a truck again and pick up the table myself. I send an email on Saturday asking if I can pick up the new table on Tuesday. I am told I can. I send another email Sunday to ask if there's any chance I can pick up the bed frame when I pick up the coffee table, since I'll have a truck and be there anyway. No reply. Send another email asking the same thing on Monday, no reply. Tuesday (yesterday) comes, I rent the truck, pick up the coffee table, no bed frame. Get the coffee table home, cool, it's not broken. Receive an email yesterday evening around 7:30pm saying basically "sorry for the delayed response. You can pick up your coffee table and bed frame tomorrow (Wednesday) from our warehouse." PER MY PREVIOUS EMAIL, I was renting a truck and picking it up Tuesday, and thus picked up the table 6 hours ago. Asked Alexis to just deliver the bed frame- no reply yet. Praying to god that the delivery of my bed frame goes smoothly so that I can finally be done dealing with this POS company. read more

The Charm 2.0: Purchased 7/9 Delivered 9/2 7/9: Purchased the Charm 2.0, listed on website as Pre order with estimated delivery date 7/27. Great my move in date is 8/1, I can have it delivered to my friends place down the hall if its before then. 7/10: I receive an email saying my delivery date will be 8/6. Ill get my delivery time frame window the day before, and on the day of a text message with a link to live track the delivery. Still great. 7/23: I receive an email saying that due to covid my order is now scheduled to arrive on island 8/22. That the order is a top priority and I will be immediately notified once it has arrived to reschedule a delivery. Ok not the best news but hey, its Covid so totally understandable. 8/22-8/30 *crickets crickets 8/30: I get the first charge for the bed. Um, no bed though :( So I write Valyou explaining the situation and requesting that I not be charged until delivery is complete. I get a quick response saying my order has arrived on island (so much for immediate notice) and "will be scheduled on delivery latest tomorrow". Also that my payment will not need to be made till another 30 days, that a delay will be placed on it. *no such delay happened 8/30-9/1: I then receive a total of 10, yes 10 emails with my delivery dates which start at; 3 emails saying 9/11, one email saying 9/8, 6 saying 9/2...just bizarre, especially since they all had the exact delivery window time too 12pm-12pm(whatever that means) and the last 4 saying 10am-2pm. 9/2 10:35 delivery at last, the two guys were friendly and efficient. No text message with tracker link though (another thing I saw a lot on the other yelp page). SO overall even though I wasnt upset or angry with Valyou I still thought the low rating was appropriate given the obvious lack of organization. I wish I could say that my experience is an isolated one given the pandemic but reading through the Kapolei yelp page there is a clear pattern of this kind of thing happening well before this year. I wonder had I not been charged and actively contacted them if Id still be waiting for my bed. Id like to support local but the customer service here needs work. Be aware that this is no refund company (even when your orders are delayed for weeks or months). I wasted so much time with this company and they are the worst when it comes to handling the most simplest tasks-following up and taking an order. First, they got my order wrong when I ordered on the phone with Tonnett (even if I triple checked the order with her with the pictures). I had to call them 4 times to finally correct the order! They never followed up with me after my second or third calls about the incorrect order, the pick up arrangements and delivery date. When I called for the 4th time really angry because they did not follow up, I found that my order was not corrected and they only repeated delayed delivery dates. They request good reviews for a little discount so the reviews here are all forced. I was supposed to receive a code for email subscription which they refused to give. Valyou furniture rectified the situation by replacing the entire vanity, having it delivered to my home, and assembled upon delivery. I am thankful that they resolved the situation because it was extremely stressful but they alleviated and remediated the situation. They scheduled a replacement for vanity the very next day after I filed my complaint, and scheduled the delivery at my convenience that following Monday. The delivery guys asked too many person questions, and that made me feel uneasy as I was a woman alone in my home at the time. Besides that, and the distress I went through assembling a faulty piece of furniture, overall I would recommend Valyou furniture simply because they made an honest effort to make the situation right despite their initial lapses. I still would have preferred to have gone through the distress of putting together a piece of furniture that didn't fit together, but sometimes businesses have mishaps and it is about how they resolve issue once it occurs. I purchased two items online. Ordering online was a breeze, and correspondence with the delivery team was no hassle at all. They were able to hold my order until I moved into my new unit, which I thought was so helpful. I ordered the Valure Dining Table and I love it. No complaints. It was delivered in pristine condition, easy to assemble and made with durable material. It's exactly as it's described online. I also ordered the Valmoana Sofa in Grey after seeing the green version at their Kapolei location. When it was delivered, it was missing the legs. Thankfully, they promptly came to deliver me the missing parts. Upon inspection however, I noticed brown spots in multiple areas. The wooden detail on the bottom, is way darker than in the picture on the website and mine has a line of discoloration going across a good potion of the sofa. The cushions are also inconsistent with the outer two, too soft and already sagging and the middle one on the firmer side. It's so odd! I emailed the company and asked if I could exchange it. I was upfront and said I no longer had the box it came in, to which they said I was not eligible for an exchange. They offered me a 10% discount. I wished they could really honor their satisfaction guarantee as advertised on all their products. My mind can't seem to reconcile the fact that I'm stuck with a couch that I don't love, just because I threw away the box. Over a month of back-and-forth with the Customer Service Manager and no satisfactory resolution to my needs as a consumer when given a defective product, I've decided to submit my complaint to the Better Business Bureau. My overall complaint: I'd like to file a consumer complaint against Valyou Furniture Store in Kapolei, Hawaii, due to my inability to come to a resolution of a defective product I received on September 14, 2020. The item in question is a Valoren Loveseat in blue. I first notified the Customer Service Manager (Annie H) of the defects on September 23rd through an email, when I had opened the package. The following items are what have been reported, with photos attached for verification: 1) A 12-inch deep run in the fabric in the middle of the head piece, located in a central location of the chair. This is not a mark which can be professionally cleaned, but a blemish that is permanently there. 2) One of the metal fixtures that attaches the backrest to the base was rusted. 3) When I tried to assemble the couch, the backrest did not fit into one side and now stuck in place, not securely fitted. 4) Two left-side seat couch cushions given. I've asked multiple occasions for a full refund for this defective product, as I was unhappy with what I was given and Brand's customer service overall. I do not want an exchange or store credit, which is what I have been repeatedly offered. I had paid $371.73 for the couch, and the transaction was proceeded to my credit card on September 9th. We ordered and paid for a nice table that was in stock and arranged for delivery. When the shipment was delivered they gave us the table top but not the base. We were instructed to complete the online warranty claim and provided all info requested yet here we are, weeks later, despite multiple calls and emails initiated by us, with no resolution or timeline to get us what we actually paid for. This review is based solely off of the experience and "protocol" as I did not purchase any furniture to review. Upon entering the store, you're greeted with what looks like a TSA X-ray machine. The lady beside the machine took my temperature and then insisted I sanitize my hands. The sanitizer reeked of perfume (totally unnecessary as fragrance literally weakens the immune system.) She then wanted me to WALK THROUGH DISINFECTANT. She pressed a button and this thing started spraying literal disinfectant to "sanitize" you from head to toe. Have they done any research on what these chemicals do to you and your immune system? Of course I said no thank you, and walked around it. They instructed me not to sit on anything, which I had no problem with and respected this rule during my short visit. About three minutes after my arrival, I watched as a mother carrying a baby came in and the associate instructed her to walk through DISINFECTANT WITH A BABY. This is not ethical and is down right dangerous to a young baby. You are instructed to use baby safe laundry detergent for Pete's sake, and this associate thought it was safe to douse a BABY in chemicals???? It was horrifying. I left immediately. In hind sight, I wish I would have advocated for this mother. Spraying disinfectant on a baby is far more dangerous than her sitting on a couch. Especially after she had her temperature checked and was granted access. The furniture looked ok for the prices. A bit smaller than I expected but certainly on trend and cute. I hope the GM / owner does some research on these things and can get their money back. Also hope no other stores follow suit and think it's a good idea to have customers get sprayed down with chemicals. read more
