My wife and I just moved to Oahu a few months ago with nothing but our clothes and the car we shipped over here. When we found Valyou we were stoked because not only does Valyou have really nice pieces of furniture, it's really affordable and everything arrives rather quickly. We honestly furnished our entire house with Valyou furniture and 2 months in we're still really happy with everything! Our living room and bedroom are both fully furnished with Valyou stuff and so far we haven't had any issues with any of it. Living on an island in the middle of the pacific has its perks, as well as its drawbacks, so delivery can sometimes take a bit if something isn't in stock but that's just the reality of living on an island, not necessarily Valyou's fault. We had one thing take longer than expected but one thing out of 7 pieces isn't the end of the world. Honestly, this place is pretty epic and great to have on the island. I made a purchase but found something locally a few days later-spoke with customer support who did everything to try and convince me to get store credit. I respectfully declined and was told I would receive the refund on my statement in 3-5 business days. A few days later I received an email saying I had been issued store credit. When I contacted support they said their merchant wasn't capable of refunds. Still contacting support to sort this refund - the full order wouldn't have been available for over a month. This was very refreshing, as I made purchases from another furniture store in February and am still waiting for the items to arrive. The delivery crew was also very polite and friendly. I placed an order for a couch on April 27 and estimated delivery date of May 30th, it's now June 11 and when I asked for an update on when I can be expecting my couch, I was told now that there was a delay and it's estimated in the beginning of July. Still no date it will be delivered just an estimate upon further investigation and reading yelp reviews, this seems to be a pattern. There are over 400 complaints to the BBB. I'm going to request a refund as soon as they open today. I do not want to be another person who doesn't get my order and doesn't get my money back ! I placed an order for a couch from Valyōu and wish I had done my research. The item was paid for in full, over $3,500, and "estimated for delivery" October 3rd 2022. I've received no contact from the company since the order was placed, but upon checking for updates via phone calls/text messages was told they have no information to give me on the item weeks after the the original expected delivery. The item has not shipped and I have no reason to believe it will. I requested the item be cancelled and a refund be given in full back to the card it was purchased. They refused and said my only options were to accept store credit or choose another item. Upon further investigation it seems this company has received over 400 complaints to the BBB with similar stories. The company puts customers in a unfair position to avoid ever having to refund anyone. There have been accusations from customers saying they have fake reviews and are actively removing anything negative about the company on social media or other websites. I am currently working with my credit card company to dispute the charge, and I don't want anyone else to get scammed from Valyōu Furniture. They are not an honest company and are intentionally trying mislead people that just want to make a good purchase. The company should be investigated and immediately shut down. read more

Sad to report we were cheated by this company. We ordered chairs from them, they kept giving us longer and longer delivery estimates. Finally after nine months, we were told the chairs were never coming. When we asked for a refund they told us they couldn't provide a refund, we had to dispute the charge thru our credit card company. Our credit card company only allows for charge disputes for 60 days. It's been a horrible exercise in frustration trying to get a refund but in the end we got nowhere. Valyou kept our money and we never got our chairs. Horrible scam. We are so grateful for the wonderful customer service we received from Mars, the sales associate at the town location. Valyou is just what we need: stylish and modern furniture at an affordable price! Ordering furniture can be stressful. There's measuring, making sure the colors are right, timing and budget. Luckily, Mars helped us sort a lot of those issues out when ordering our furniture. We wanted to order a bed that we thought was only on display in Kapolei. Luckily, Mars was filling in there that day and helped us out. She helped put an order together for us of our bed and TV stand. I recently purchased the Lanordic TV stand from the Honolulu store. My sales rep Leah was awesome! Initially the tv stand was sold out but she placed me on a wait list and within only two weeks their inventory of this model came in. I was so impressed with Leah's great customer service, warm and friendly attitude! No pressure tactics. Just a willingness to answer my questions and show me what the store had to offer in what I was looking for. I even scored a $50 saving coupon to apply to my order in bringing the total down. I went shopping around town to compare quality and prices at other furniture stores, no comparison to Valyou Furniture. The delivery reps that came to my home were also warm and accommodating. I initially thought I paid for both delivery and assembling but they called their manager and she explained there was no assembly needed for my model. All I had to do was take it out of the box and decide what length I desired. I could save a $100 in me doing that but because I have weak hands due to my chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer that caused me to have bad neuropathy I was willing to just pay for the reps to carry and take out my furniture piece and set it up for me! This is the 2nd time we purchased a piece of furniture from Valyou in Honolulu. We bought a bed frame and headboard in February and now a cream colored sofa. Both times dealing with Valyou have been smooth and stress-free. It's so great to have options for furniture shopping in Hawaii! Our salesperson Maria was very helpful but not pushy. After looking at Valyou we told her that we liked one sofa but wanted to check out the competing stores nearby. There was no comparison in regards to price, timing and delivery cost. Had a great experience at the Valyou Furniture store. Salespeople were nice, customer service was great, had some really nice looking couches, and the one we chose was delivered on time and in good condition. This review is only for the quality of the couch. The "memory" foam seating started compressing the first month and we had to keep flipping the seats so as not to get a permanent crater where we sit (and we are not big or heavy people). After a year, the center leg/support under the couch broke off and a few months later one of the back legs broke off so it is now supported by a stack of books. $600 for a couch seems like a good value when you compare it to prices elsewhere but it is not (when the couch only lasts a year or so). read more

Although the employees are very kind the customer service / warranty department is enough to strongly recommend NEVER purchasing from them. Worst experience I have had and I'm still stuck with an overpriced couch 1,800 which is basically unusable, specially the Mario Malibu couch. Hundred of feathers busting out. Have to clean a pile of feathers and yet they tell me it's normal and a natural occurrence. Constantly being poked by feathers as well as your couch smelling like bird. At first, I was hesitant to buy a mattress online considering the recent lockdown and not being able to "feel" what I am receiving, but Valyou assisted in making sure I was taken care of with any questions and concerns making me feel very comfortable the entire experience. Their delivery process utilizes email confirmations and text updates (love that). The gentleman who delivered the mattress was very efficient and kind. Easy drop off process! Additionally, the mattress was wrapped and rolled so I could easily move it through my front door and into my bedroom. Essentially it fluffed out very quickly and to my disbelief I had scored the perfect mattress... it's perfectly firm and soft. I'm so glad I went for it! My partner can get in out of the bed if he decides to stay up later or wake up earlier, and I do not feel his movement through the mattress, truly allowing us to sleep well throughout the night. I am so happy with Valyou's service. I initially found them on fb marketplace and I am so happy that I did. When I expand to a larger space, I will definitely buy living room furniture from them as I love their contemporary/modern take on design. Considering Hawaii does not have an IKEA like I am used to in the mainland, Valyou scores on affordable prices, exceptional customer service, and high quality. I found my furniture spot. We ordered a sofa back in November and it still hasn't arrived. Meanwhile the Valyou website says the very same sofa will ship in as early as 1 week (and up to 3). We ordered ours over 13 weeks ago and it's still not here! My fiancee has been calling customer support almost daily and gets the runaround every time. Zero movement, zero accountability, and empty promises that she'll hear back from someone, which has failed to happen time and time again. Incredibly frustrating. Terrible customer service. My couch was delivered and assembled by Ty and Anthony. I appreciate how quickly they put it together and that they are a couple of really friendly guys. I ordered a "Feathers Sofa 4 seater in gray", when I placed the order in January the expected in stock date advertised was mid-Feb. On Feb 17th I emailed customer service, I was not given any updates on the couch. The website had stated at the time of my email that the product was in stock with an estimated del date of Feb 19-22. I emailed to clarify when I would be receiving mine as I had not had any contact from customer service on the status of my order. When they responded they stated this was a mistake and that the item was not in stock, they told me that the in stock date had been moved to March 8th (I received this email Feb 19, and this was the first time I had been informed my order would not be arriving on time). I was told I would receive an update March 10. On March 8th, customer service emailed me to tell me that I had a new expected delivery date of April 4. And would provide me an update by April 6th. On March 25th I emailed asking if there was any updates with the status of my order. This was the response: "I checked your order and there are no advisory or any changes with the date I provided you which is still April 4th for us to receive the stocks with an estimated date of delivery between April 18th - April 27th the latest or earlier than that" On April 6th I received an email that they were unable to provide me an exact delivery date (even though in the previous email they had given me an expected delivery date range). And that they were expecting my order to arrive between late April or early May (ANOTHER PUSH BACK). On April 19th I reached out again asking for an update. I was given the same notice of early April to early May. I responded to say, well, it is late April - you don't have a more exact date of delivery? In my head - how do they not know the order will be much later than expected if they still can't give a more exact delivery date? I was told they couldn't give me an exact date and would reach out May 6th. Today April 29th I asked for an update and now they are saying sometime throughout May. How do they NOT KNOW that an order originally expected in February is not getting delivered until May?! They kept pushing it back 2-4 weeks at a time to keep my business. If I knew it was going to be late May I would have NEVER purchased this couch. They string customers along a few weeks at a time to keep their business. If you purchase a couch here expect to not get it for months (or maybe not at all, who knows, I still have not got my couch I ordered in January!) This is so infuriating. If I don't receive the couch within the next few weeks I will be filing with my credit card company. I have filed with the BBB and will continue to pursue action for this absolutely unacceptable customer service. read more
