This place is literally not over hyped, the hype is is worth it... the hype deserves it all. Its the second best dessert spot ive ever actually had. Definitely top tier in the IE. Its affordable, big portioned, flavors just burst out all over my tongue. I got the banana pudding one and the banana to syrup to snow ratio was immaculate. So much I want to try, definitely check this place out if you want some good dessert!
Love to see an independent business open up. This popped up on my socials and the hubby really wanted to give it a try. Convenient location across from The Mills. Don't see a lot of shaved snow places out this way so it's a nice change from the endless ice cream shops. We got two flavors - one fruity and one chocolate. Figured we'd try varying kinds. Husband and I both agreed the fruity side won. Melon Bomb - if you like melon this one was GOOD. Really bright flavors, almost candy-ish. Popping boba and fresh watermelon were perfect compliments. There was also some sort of drizzle on there. This one was our favorite by far. S'Moreo - this one was completely different from the Melon Bomb. Incredibly light and delicate flavor profile. You're getting almost just a hint of the chocolate. Honestly, for older Asians, this is probably right up their alley because it's "not too sweet". Due to the texture of the snow, it lends to a very airy chocolate. Talked to one of the owners for a minute and she was super nice. The place really gives that family-run vibe. 10/10. Support local small businesses!
8/18/26 Cute tiny shave ice spot in Ontario (took over Mochinut) serving up creative shave ice concoctions & drinks. Staff are super friendly & attentive. There's plenty of outdoor seating, even with the umbrella & covered patio, it could not protect you from the blistering heat. Indoors, there were seating to accompany about a dozen customers. Parking is free at this shred lot (businesses such as Starbucks, Kultura, Sees Candies & Fish Hook. My friends & I shared shave ice: Thai tea, green tea matcha & peach cobbler. All were made to order & arrived in a timely manner. Boy did it hit the spot!!! Everything tasted fresh & not too sweet. My favorite was the peach cobbler-tangy & sweet. My husband and I tried Vampire Penguin and got the Mexican Candy and Strawberry Shortcake shaved ice. Everything was so good! The shaved ice was perfectly blended, and all the flavors went together so well. We really enjoyed both and are definitely coming back to try more flavors! The customer service was also very nice and welcoming. There isn't a ton of seating inside, but they do have additional seating outside, which is a nice option. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend giving Vampire Penguin a try
Fun themes and flavors of shaved ice you likely haven't had before. I'm not usually a fan of shaved ice when it's just crushed ice with syrup but this place is definitely more than that. Flavors are infused before ice shaving and you can tell the difference. They also have some fun drinks and dirty sodas so it's a fun, sweet experience for all. It was a great way to cool off on a hot day. Staff are friendly and polite with opening the door for you, making you feel welcome when it's your first time and clearing the table for you.
12/10 such a great business! Not only were they delicious! But they had so many more flavors I want to try, now I have to go back! The service was awesome. I got to meet one of the owners and have a chitchat about the business. I really truly think this is a great product. It was so good and a lot less calories then your typical cheesecake or other type of dessert. It's not quite ice cream and not quite shaved ice. It's something in between and so good. This family owned business is serving up delicious Shaved Snow desserts and Dirty Sodas. Snow Thaiger: The Thai tea flavor is infused into the snow and tastes like an authentic Thai tea. Wasn't sure about the Oreo crumbles at first, but it wasn't bad. 10/10 Atomic Apple Dirty Sodas: Reminds me of the Sour Apple Slush from back-in-the-day TGI Fridays drink menu. IYKYK. I replaced the Mountain Dew with Sprite. The candy apple rings on top were a cute addition. I would have liked more cream (dirty), but overall it was really good. 8/10 Definitely will be back to try other flavors. They do have a strawberry lemonade snow on the menu but when I got to the register to order, I was told that the flavor wasn't available yet. Not sure why it was on the menu already and not covered. Also, it wasn't on the sold out flavor board neither, so that was kinda weird.
My husband and I saw this place while driving by and holy smokes. Absolutely amazing! I don't even know where to begin! First bite review: 10/10 I got the chocolate covered banana snow(kids size) and it was not at all what I was expecting in the best way! It was so soft, the flavor of the banana snow with the chocolate and candy exploded in my mouth for a nice cool yummy flavor! They have so much to offer and the best customer service ever! Wow! What a pleasant visit I had at Vampire Penguin on this hot summer day. The staff were so friendly and the vibes were immaculate. We ordered the Kids 8oz Mexican Candy Snow and 8oz Horchata Snow. Both were refreshing, sweet, and rich in flavor. The snow was so light so I don't feel guilty while eating it. Next time I will get a bigger size! We also ordered the Razzle Dazzle Dirty Soda. I will definitely be back!
I've had Vampire Penguin bookmarked for a while and was patiently waiting for them to open. They're in the same plaza as Scramblers right next to Kulturas and by the Starbucks. They finally opened on June 12th. If you're familiar with the area, this spot used to be Cream previously. They have various locations but this is the first one in Southern California! They're known for their shaved snow and dirty sodas and is exactly what we ordered. It's so cute inside and they have a couple chairs set up where you can take photos. Last Sunday, my husband got the Very Berry and I got the Mocha Latte. The snow is literally so soft. They use their OWN syrups for the shaved snow and the more common syrups like Torani and DaVinci for the drinks. We both loved it and then we got a couple dirty sodas, peach and raspberry. It's family run and owned which is awesome. Definitely worth it for a nice treat. My husband literally could not stop talking about it so on Thursday after work we came again. This time we shared the Peach Cobbler. Wow I really liked that one!! Will order it again for sure.

This place came up on my social media and we wanted to come and support a new local business. We called in advance to ask about Summer hours because online indicated that it closed at eight 8 PM. However, when I called, they said they were open until 10 PM. We arrived close to 9:15 PM and were greeted immediately as we walked in by a friendly young lady. They have one main sign that list a few options and the other two screens have specials cycling every few seconds. So, it does require patience and attention. Here's what we ordered. Horchata: 9/10 delicious and loved the crunch factor of the toast cereal. Melon: 8/10 my husband liked it but it tasted artificial to me. A pineapple blueberry (I forget the name): 8/10 this was on the sweet end for me. Prices are a little on the high end as we paid $33 dollars for the three and mine was a kid size and the other two were the medium size. They do offer a rewards program and is refreshing. They do offer dirty sodas and boba drinks. After ordering, we sat outside where they offer corn hole and a Jenga set. There are a few tables to sit outside and have a couple inside. Even after they dropped off our order, they came back to ask us about our experience and asked for honest feedback. Loved the mere fact that they wanted to make sure our experience was exceptional. Overall, we will definitely be back! Giving 4/5 starts due to price point.

Ordered Horchata Snow - it comes with Horchata Snow, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Graham Cracker Crumbs, Condense Milk with Caramel Drizzle. Mmmm! It was so delightful. It was light and airy, too. I love it how it just melts in your mouth. Service was awesome. Ambiance is cute with Vampire spooky theme. They have tables outside and inside. Plenty of parking space in the lot. I will definitely come back.

8/4/26 Vampire Penguin Ontario CA... came here today as it's been really hot lately and I was in the area! The place was very clean inside and outside. They have a tent area where you can eat outside if you dare, but it's so hot. I enjoyed my treat inside. I got the green tea Matcha shaved snow. This excellent light tasting treat has green tea snow, strawberries, condensed milk, Matcha powder, and it's topped with whipped cream. So good! The service here was excellent! You gotta come and try this wonderful treat! read more
We saw this place on social media and decided to give it a try. We were very impressed! The location was very easy to find, ALL of the employees were very friendly and helpful. Upon entering the cute little spot it was quite busy but every customer was handled quickly and promptly with a smile. Let's start off by saying Vampire Penguin, where have you been!?? This place is amazing! From the flavors of yummy shaved ice and tons of flavors, great customer service, to the toons that are being played (destiny's child, Nelly Furtado, Christina Aguilera and more), YOU yes YOU need to go! It's small but the shaved snow (not ice), is packed with delicious flavor! I went with my family where we tried 4 different flavors: Strawberry cheesecake, banana pudding, horchata, and bubble gum...all hands down amazing! They were also giving samples out while we waited because the heat right now is no joke! The ambiance is welcoming, and I'm sure vampire penguin will be here for years to come! It's tucked away behind hero's, and the Ontario mills right across in a little strip mall but this place gets packed! Wish I could try all their flavors! Friendly staff I ordered the pina colada and wife ordered the melon bomb. Both were amazing. It's more of a shaved snow fluff style rather than a snow cone. Price was reasonable but the quality was good! Perfect flavor balance! Sorry no pictures. Was Sooo good we ate everything! read more
We had an amazing experience at Vampire Penguin! The customer service was above and beyond. The staff was so friendly and even came back to check on us after we finished our desserts to make sure everything was perfect, which really showed how much they care. The shop was spotless with plenty of seating inside and outside, there were so many great menu options to choose from, and the shaved snow, desserts, and drinks were all top notch. I'm so happy a shaved snow place is finally here in Ontario!! The first and only time I tried shaved snow was far, all way in in Yucaipa, so I'm glad I can eat shaved snow again since it's such a delicious dessert and mouth-feel sensation. This place is a true gem during the summer, the shaved snow is cold and comes in a wide variety of flavors and toppings. The employees are kind and hard-workers, making sure the inside and outside seating areas are clean and that customers get their order in time. I appreciated that the owner walked around giving complimentary samples of pineapple shaved snow to customers, asking if everyone enjoyed their order. It's a good sign to me if the owner of a business is present and cares. I ordered the S'mores and I loved the crunchy graham cracker bits and chocolate snow flavor. My mom ordered the Pineapple Upside Down, she enjoyed the sweetness and tangy-ness. My dad ordered the Strawberry Cheesecake and was mind-blown with the flavor and texture because he never had shaved snow before. He initially didn't want anything, but changed his mind. He cleaned his plate, saying he'd come here anytime all summer! read more

This was the first time stopping by here. I saw a tik tok video and it look so good. We came by after eating dinner. They have have a great selection, they all look so good. The place looked very nice and inviting. The people working were all so nice and friendly. We got the Mexican Candy and the Smoreos. The staff was super nice! Explaining everything as soon as we walked in, the different sizes, types and the dirty sodas too. The portions are definitely bigger than I thought so a smaller size would be advised if you don't want a ton of dessert. They weren't too sweet that kills your teeth, the flavors were subtle and light. There's plenty of seating too, more outside than inside. Definitely will wanna come back read more

Me and a friend both stopped in to check out this place. Heard about it from other local foodie influencers and wanted to try something good! We both walked in and was greeted by both Marcus and Allison, mother and son duo that runs the place. Very very nice people! Love the hospitality there. They have a wide variety of Shaved snow flavors to choose from and also other desserts as well like milkshakes and even bubble waffles. Follow their IG pages to see all the goodies they offer! Take a picture and hang on the customers wall! The matcha green tea flavor i got was very delicious and i highly recommend for all you matcha lovers. Comes with strawberries and whipped cream. I came to Vampire Penguin for dessert and left genuinely confused--in the best way possible. I ordered the banana pudding shaved snow, and wow... it was unreal. The shaved snow literally melts on your tongue like fresh powder--light, fluffy, and smoother than ice cream. The banana slices, creamy topping, cookie crumble, and pudding flavor all came together perfectly. It tasted indulgent and nostalgic all at once. What really blew my mind was how satisfying it felt without the usual heavy sugar crash afterward. I'm not exaggerating when I say I walked out feeling like I could go straight to the gym and crush a workout. On top of that, I really enjoyed meeting the owners, Suzanne and Marcus. They were incredibly warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about creating a great experience. You can feel the care they put into both the product and the atmosphere. How does something taste this decadent but feel this light? Pure sorcery. Vampire Penguin isn't serving shaved ice--they're serving edible clouds. Highly recommend. read more

The service is very welcoming, and the deserts are amazingly delicious I loved the professionalism and the environment. The art work on the wall was hard to miss , who ever painted the inside did a great job . I had an horchata shaved ice and my wife had the Mexican candy with mango and watermelon. Vampire Penguin has a cute atmosphere with plenty of outdoor seating, making it a great spot to hang out and enjoy a treat. I ordered the Horchata shaved ice, and it was absolutely delicious!! Flavorful refreshing, and definitely something I'd order again. Plenty of menu suggestions and customizable options. The only reason I'm giving 3.5 instead of 5 stars is the wait time plus confusion of orders. (+15min) The dessert was worth trying, but the service was much slower than expected. The staff was kind and friendly however if they can improve the speed of service. One suggestion would be to add customer names to orders. The staff seemed to have difficulty matching completed orders with the correct customers, which appeared to contribute to the delays and confusion during pickup. This would easily be a 5-star experience. read more

I ordered a small banana pudding and my boyfriend ordered a medium mocha latte snow. Mine was so good I had to order another small to go . Lol. I guess you can say I LIKED IT. We came to try it out since my husband has been eyeballing this place since it opened. Immediately upon entering we were greeted in a way that made us feel extremely welcomed. She went over the menu and explained the different flavors and options. We choose the sunrise. It comes with pineapple and peaches. We loved it. My husband wanted to try all the flavors now. We sat outside which was nice because they have enough tables to sit comfortably. Definitely will be coming back soon. I attached a picture but I was too slow. They already started to eat it.
