I walked in with guaranteed financing from an outside lender. I found the vehicle I wanted, did a test drive, negotiated a price. Price was agreed to. The problems began to arise when I asked for the buyer's statement for my lender. He requires it in order to begin the loan paperwork. They would not provide it. Also, multiple employees repeatedly pushed in-house financing, even though I said from the beginning that I was absolutely not interested in switching. The second person who brought it up to me made sure to say several times, "I've never seen someone so willing to walk away from money." As if he was questioning my intelligence for turning down their offer so many times. I'm not sure what else to say to someone except NO, and they didn't take NO for an answer multiple times. But whatever. I was still absolutely willing to purchase the vehicle and my lender was ready to move forward with the purchase, but he still needed that one specific document first. Please note that other dealerships are willing to provide this document. Van Subaru was not. Before they would give me the paper, I was directed to sign quite a few forms, including one that guaranteed I would purchase the car, even though I said specifically I didn't want to sign the form because I needed the okay from my lender first, who again needed that one specific form that Van Subaru refused to provide up front. But whatever. Again I just went with it. I really wanted to purchase that car. The last straw came when they wanted some information about my lender that I did not have - so I gave them the phone number to call and get the information. The salesman came back and told me he'd called my lender and gotten the information. Later on during the interaction, when my lender still hadn't gotten the document he was asking for, he called me directly to ask what was holding it up. During the call, he told me that nobody had called him. Both the salesman and the business manager that I was working with lied to me about it. When I got upset and questioned them about it, they declined to continue with the purchase and asked me to leave. Parting blow? The salesman followed me out as if I was going to do something nefarious to the car or property. I have never, NEVER, been treated that way at a car dealership. I took my 2017 Cadillac to get a diagnostic on the AC system. They stated that my vehicle needed an AC discharge hose and the cost for the part with labor would be $2,100.00. I questioned why it would cost so much when that is the part I just had done a month ago at my regular mechanic. I was told the cost was due to 7.2 hours of labor. I informed them that my mechanic installed the part in 2 hours and that I felt they are inflating the number of hours for the labor. I also disputed the cost of $355.00 charge for the diagnosis cost which they did charge me less. I requested to speak with the manager which he was not in but was able to talk to him the next day. I informed him that AC discharge hose was already installed a month ago by my mechanic which only took him 2 hours, and the internet states that it takes 1.5 to 3 hours for a professional mechanic to install the part. I questioned the manager if they don't hire professional mechanics. He said that they charge what the General Motors book shows to charge which is 7.2 hours. Van Cadillac quoted $2,157.98 for part and labor and my mechanic charge $487.00 for part and labor. I took my car back to my mechanic and replaced the part at no cost as it was under warranty. I contacted another Cadillac dealership in Missouri that is 20 miles from Van to get a quote for the part and labor. Their quote for part and 3 hours of labor is $1,002.00. I assumed they would have also used a GM book to determine the amount of time of labor. I feel that Van Chevrole Cadillac is gouging their customers. Customer service in the service department is flawed and needs severe process improvement. Im not here to bash but state facts. Each time I have had my car in for an oil pump replacement and later an oil change. Im calling in to check on my vehicle no one has called back I had to go to the place to get answer. As a customer if I call an establishment checking on my vehicle and speak to the receptionist and they inform someone is calling back and dont its flawed. Had an appointment at 1pm and after 2 calls no one called me back. The place closed at 6 and had to go there the next dayjust to get resolution. Kim and Jon very helpful and appreciative. Let me start by saying, I've worked in car sales as a salesperson in the past. I completely understand someone buying a car from under you and things ending up disappointing. However I do not understand lack of communication. I was ready to buy the Porsche Macan without a single ounce of negotiation. I called on 8/4/26 at 9 am to set up an appointment to test drive the car. We arrive to test drive the car and are told that it is not there. We leave. I attempt to text the salesperson over and over with no response. I, then, call and ask to talk to a sales manager. The sales manager puts me on hold for 10+ minutes and doesn't pick up. I hang up. I call again and finally reach a sales manager. He said that the car was at the dealership getting a PPI done. That's fine. I said, okay, I want to buy today regardless. I'll put a deposit down right now. He says to give him a few minutes and he'll contact me with the documents. Hours pass by and nothing is sent. I call back and ask to speak to a sales manager. This time it's another sales manager. He says that the car isn't here and that I need to talk to my salesperson but he's with customers. I stated that I have not spoken to my salesperson about the car at all and that he wasn't available for a test drive. He says, to wait 15 minutes and talk to my salesperson. That regardless of how much I've spoken to this stranger, he's my sales guy. Hours pass by again without a call. At 8:25 pm he contacts me to say that he's sorry and that he was busy all day. 8/5/26 he tells me at 10:30am that the car has not had a deposit down yet and I can buy the car. I said send me the numbers and I'll send my deposit. They send the numbers, it looks great. I say, send me the documents and I'll Docusign and put the deposit down now. He says great. 11 AM rolls by and he calls and says the car sold. From my experience in car sales, if you don't contact your people within an hour and you don't show up to your own appointment, then it is transferred to another sales person. (There were several on the floor ready for a deal when we arrived). But this dealership plays by the rules of dibs and will screw you over because they couldn't get their butts in gear within 20 hours. (Yesterday at 4 to today at 11) I asked multiple times for the numbers to three different salesmen, and two different sales managers, and not one person could deliver me the numbers. I am beyond disappointed and disgusted with the service department at this Chevy dealership. What should have been a straightforward diagnostic and repair turned into one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I brought my car in because it was stalling and shaking under acceleration. It took 24 hours just to diagnose the issue. When they called, I agreed to the recommended repair. A few hours later, I received another call informing me that while attempting the repair, they broke another part -- and I would be charged for both the part they broke and the labor to fix it. That part then had to be ordered, which delayed everything an additional two days. In total, I missed three days of work. On Friday afternoon, I was told my car was fixed and running perfectly. I picked it up and paid $200 for the diagnostic fee plus labor and parts, totaling $550. The moment I drove off the lot, the car was still shaking under acceleration -- the exact same issue I brought it in for. When I called to bring it back, I wanted confirmation that I would not be charged another $200 diagnostic fee since the original problem was never resolved. Scott very rudely informed me that yes, I would be charged again. I escalated the issue to Kim Kloth, who identified herself as the Customer Relations Manager. She initially assured me there would NOT be a second diagnostic fee and told me to bring the vehicle back in. When I arrived, Scott asked me to go on a test drive with him to point out the issue. After feeling the shaking, he stated he now believed it was a CV axle issue and said they would need to perform a second diagnostic -- for another $200. I explained that Kim had already confirmed there would be no additional diagnostic fee. His response was, "Kim was wrong. I talked to Malik, my manager, and he agreed there would be a second diagnostic charge." I requested to speak with Kim directly. When she came out, her position had completely changed. She stated that because the issue was not related to the evap purge valve they replaced, there would indeed be another diagnostic fee. Let me be clear: the vehicle came in for shaking under acceleration. The vehicle left still shaking under acceleration. Charging a second diagnostic fee when the original complaint was never resolved is unacceptable. Additionally, I was charged for a part they broke and the labor to fix their own mistake. They also claimed to perform a multipoint inspection, yet my antifreeze was completely empty. This entire situation occurred within one week. I am a reasonable person and fully understand paying for services rendered. However, I will not pay repeatedly for incomplete diagnostics and shifting explanations. The lack of accountability, poor communication, and refusal to stand behind their own work is alarming. I purchased my vehicle at a Chevy dealership because I believed in the brand's reputation. totally dissatisfied with services. I my brakes replaced Service Representative lied after replacing my front brakes paid over $1300 for front end work. For Scott to tell me after loud whistling sound from. A week later after the front brakes was replaced. That the noise was coming from the I bought brakes and had those noise coming from the front. Overall, I had a good experience at this dealership. I bought a used truck and so far so good. Only thing I wish was different is that I wish they would have replaced the tires on the truck before putting it on the lot. They said there is 50% tire tread. But there is no way. Now I'm going to have to pay another $1000 for new tires. After buying a car from them this is not a welcomed expense. But it's my fault because I didn't say anything when purchasing the truck. My mother and I are in the market to purchase a new vehicle. I contacted this dealership at 9 AM. I was told that I would get a call back. I waited a couple hours and no one called me back so I called a few times and even requested to speak to a manager. The manager was really really rude and didn't wanna help me out and all I wanted to do was purchase a vehicle. At that point, I felt like I was being discriminated and it discouraged me from making a vehicle purchase. So we went to a different dealer and we were treated with respect and we made a deal and we are happy with a new purchase. The facts are that my mother lives in Illinois. And I offered to place a deposit so she could have time to come in, but they just told me they don't wanna do business with me. I believe that anyone has the right to make a purchase anywhere they choose frankly it seems like dealers could do whatever they want, but for some reason, they always flipped the script and make the customers look bad. I've have damage on my 2022 Escalade that hasn't been addressed since 2024! I brought my truck in for hail damage. I've received the run around for weeks why parts haven't arrived, "hood" "glass" side moldings 9k in overall damages "claimed" nothing is done. I called to arrange pick up my truck to get a quote elsewhere. Then one person Joe allegedly says" everything is alright to pick up", because we haven't started. Not 10 mins later a liar Mark Miller calls me and says no Joe doesn't work here who's Joe. Lying Rude unprofessional Mark Miller says that's not true we have started you can't come pick your truck it's in the bay!! Allegedly So which one lied I'm not sure. Paperwork had the wrong address on it, the gas tank was on empty, paperwork took 5 weeks to be sent (even though Missouri has to be titled within 30 days), management couldn't care less that I'm an unhappy customer. Every time I called to try to straighten things out, I get transferred to multiple people because each one blame someone else. They even changed my finance company AFTER I signed the paperwork at a slightly higher interest rate. They absolutely could not care less if you're just buying a used car. Two stars for our vehicle. Zero stars for the detailing and service and customer support. 1. We were pre-qualified for financing at hundreds of dollars less than what they financed us with. They ignored the pre-qualification and pushed us to GM Financial. 2. With GM Financial, we still have not received a welcome letter with our account number, so we have no real way to pay for the vehicle. 3. We told them we would only purchase the vehicle if the windows were tinted. I was told we would receive a call within a week. Week goes by. No call. Two weeks approach. I have to reach out to them to remind them to reach out to me for scheduling. 4. We drop off the vehicle for tinting. Were told it would take a day. It takes two. It's a 60 min drive and we only have one vehicle. They call us to say it's ready towards the end of the day. 5. Traffic means we barely arrive before the service dept closes. We find that our passenger side door will not lock. It is stuck in the unlocked position. We turn around and go back. We are assured they did not remove the door panel for the tinting procedure and we have to leave it with them again. Well, we need a vehicle for our employment, so we have to try another day. The 60 minute drive for issues caused by the service team is not worth it. 6. We decided to take it to a trusted shop 5 minutes away. In less than half a day, we are told the lock actuator was reattached incorrectly at Van Chevrolet. The cost of labor should be reimbursed by Van Chevrolet, but I would bet they have no interest in doing that. 7. The vehicle has some paint touchups that were done so incredibly poorly. Color match is all off. Texture is off. We were told "that's the best our service team can do." Once you purchase your vehicle, they do not seem to care about it once it's off the lot. Terrible customer service. Promises of calls ignored. Emails to them go ignored. The issues are not caused by the employees themselves, but simply the organization of the business. Lack of communication. Lack of professionalism and empathy from people in power positions. I will not be back. I will advise friends and family to take their business elsewhere. Stay away. Zero stars. I bought a 2021 Chrysler Voyager from Taylor at Van Chevrolet. When I test drove it, there was a light on the dash. I asked him what it was and he said "oh that's just the tire sensor- we'll make sure it gets fixed before you drive it off the lot." This was on a Wednesday- I signed paperwork and then my husband met me there on Friday to finish it all up. We were there with all three kids for three hours finishing everything. When we finally drove away, I realized the light was still on. I called and the salesman said to bring it into the service department and they'd get it taken care of. So I did that the following week- only to realize it wasn't the tire sensor, it was the automatic Start/Stop system, and the service department said that had to be fixed at a certified Chrysler dealership. I went to the sales side & talked to Taylor and Mike (finance guy) and they said absolutely get this fixed, since it was promised before even buying the car, but asked if I'd be willing to wait 30 days until the warranty kicked in. I (very stupidly, and regretfully) agreed. They said they'd set me up with a loaner while it got fixed & I reiterated many times that I had three children so a loaner needed to be accommodating to a car seat and two boosters. A month m later, I called and made an appointment. A few days before the appointment the check engine light came on. In addition, the drivers side visor broke and is not usable. I brought the car in. I shared with the salesman, financial guy, + a service guy the three things that were wrong. Taylor set me up with a loaner and while I struggled for 10 minutes to get my car seat out, I asked him for help, he said he'd get someone. No one ever helped. It took me over 20 minutes to get it out of the car. I get a call two weeks later from Taylor saying, my car isn't ready, they need me to bring the loaner back because that's a car for sale and it's not good for them to not have it on the lot. I said-no. If they needed it back, they needed to bring me a new loaner and take it back themselves. For a week, he would call & text telling me to bring it back. Each time I said you need to come get it- it was Christmas time, I have three kids, and I work. I then got a call from the sales manager (Shaun) asking me to bring it back. I explained to him that I'd told them they needed to come to me to do this. He said he'd have the salesman bring me a different loaner the next day. Two days later, I get a call, text, & video message, from Taylor telling me I absolutely had to bring the loaner back today. I said- no, your manager said you'd be bringing me a different loaner. His response "why don't you tell me what your schedule is because I'm going to have to take time out of my day to help you out." I said "no- you're not helping me out- you're managing the mistakes THAT YOU MADE" --- he hung up on me. A few hours later he brought me a new loaner. During the exchange he says "hey I tried to advocate for you on this, I told them you had three kids and it would be hard for you to bring the car back"-he then proceeds to say that this wasn't his mistake but his managers and that the managers done communicate. I said "I don't care if it was your mistake or your managers, but it was the DEALERSHIPS mistake and you're treating me as if you're doing me a favor." A week later.... I get a call that day then from the Dodge dealership saying THE START STOP ISSUE IS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY and it'll be $500. Shortly after that get a call from the manager (Shaun) again. They need me to bring the second loaner back. That one's for sale and needs to be on the lot. "At this point you're going to have to call the warranty and get them to pay for a rental. We were doing this as a courtesy to you." I started from the beginning with him-the whole story. He did end up giving me another loaner, & they paid the $500 to fix it. (I brought the loaner back) There was one person- Kim- who was very kind & helpful & understanding- Kim should be in charge. God bless Kim. read more

This brings me to the next day shen it was dry the car had all kinds of scratches,scuffs and even crack in the tail light. I thought Missouri had a 3 day rule go take cars back but I was wrong. They said they could have it buffed and that would fix some of the problems but it was a mess and I was told by the finance guy not even getting a lawyer would help me. He also kind of also threatened me by saying that Dint bad mouth the dealership in the Cadillac room we could have called the police. I did know such a thing. I was humiliated that the finance guy is also the fixer. I am a repeat customer but never again!!!!! oh and they said the state of Missouri did the inspection like I did this just take ownership and say it could have happened in transit. The car is not in perfect condition, but the repairs that would be needed would not equal the difference of what we were offered. Van Chevrolet has been a nightmare. They picked up my friend's car, then a salesman immediately pushed her to buy a new one without diagnosing the issue. When she declined, a supervisor claimed there was extensive, unspecified damage, pressuring her again to get a new car. She insisted on a proper diagnosis and warranty check, but they did unauthorized repairs costing $4500 and threatened a mechanic's lien if she didn't pay. Shockingly, they emailed her to confirm repairs hours at 4:30 pm THAT DAY, after THEY HAD ALREADY COMPLETED THEM. We don't even know if they checked with the warranty to see if anything was covered. This level of dishonesty and high-pressure tactics is unacceptable. Avoid them for both purchases and repairs, they are shady and dishonest. read more

I am highly disappointed in my service from Van. After calling to just talk to someone about my check engine light being on I was transferred to 6 different people. Once I got my car in I learned it was going to cost $149.50 just to look at my car- I should have walked out then. Fast forward 3 hours, I get a call telling me multiple things wrong including an electrical problem their own sensors couldn't detect that would now cost me over $1k. Total repairs were going to cost me $3950! After a few attempts to call back and talk to a rep I decided to go pick up my car and take it to a mechanic. Here we found a small crack in a part that would be $125 + labor. Needless to say for less than $300 (minus the $150 I paid Van for a small panic attack) I am back on the road and all is well. I have been a Van customer for over 30 years service has always been great until now. I took my 2021 Equinox in to see why the check engine light keeps coming on then off, then on, and so on. I was told to run diagnostic on the car would take 24 to 48 hours or more and if it was over twenty four hours they would get me a loaner or rental car. My car is under warranty and my wife has dementia. So being without a car is not a good option. So after 24 hours with no communication from Van my daughter called and was told they were going to call me around 10 or 11 to tell me they would need the car for another 24 hours or longer to get it in to run diagnosti ( a one hour job any where else in the city). They told my daughter they had no loaner or help with renting a car. Basically they really did not care we were with out a car. So we got the car and I will pay ( was going to pay $100 to Van for some unknown charge) to have the diagnostic test run to find out what is going on with my one and only car ( mileage on the car is 27555 so within the warranty). I can't even give one star for the repair department or for the people that answer the phone. They have caused problems between myself and my grandson. He took his car to Van's for repairs 3 months ago. I am a co-signer on my grandson's car which means I have the right to know what repairs they're doing on it. Everytime I call to ask why it's taking so long get it fixed the mechanic and the girls that work there call my grandson and tell him I called. They make him upset because I call. I told them I'm the co-signer in the beginning but they continue to call him everything I call. They're hateful to me when I ask questions and tell me they don't have to tell me anything. I finally told them I was going to call one of the news stations about how they're treating me. They called my grandson and told him he was going to have to leave work because they needed to talk to him about me. They're blaming the warranty company about taking so long to get his car repaired. I let my grandson use my car while his is getting repaired but had no idea it was going to take 3 months! I'm 73 years old and have no car to drive. I have health conditions and have had to cancel doctor's appointments because I have no car. I was kind enough to let my grandson use my car so he wouldn't lose his job. They wouldn't give him a loaner to drive. The employees are very rude and now they won't answer my phone calls unless I call on someone else's phone. This is very bad service! read more

We originally came to this dealership wanting to look at a different car but he (Jimmy) CALLED US ON HIS PERSONAL PHONE stating "No, the second gear is going out, so you do not want that car" so we believed him and he showed us a different car. We are thinking we can trust this man since he gave us the heads up on the original car we wanted. We had this car (Grey Ford Escape) for 6 days (picked it up 09-06-2024) and it started to have transmissions problem, delay start and a jump when you come to a complete stop and go. We took this car to ford (per Alex - service team at this dealership) and ford did a scan & said there is a transmission issue and if you drive this car any more it will lock on you. After going into THIS the dealership and having a terrible experience the sixth day, crying and stressed. They denied us a loaner AND said the warranty would take 30 days to kick in, while trying to figure out what was the problem with the car. Finally, the GM Ryan decided to give us a loaner after we were told multiple times there was nothing they can do. Now, the car is sitting in a ford dealership, this dealership (VAN CHEVY) is claiming there is nothing they can do and want the loaner back. Leaving us with no vehicle for who knows how many days and how many months, now we have to figure out life all over again after dealing with a total loss that was not our fault. I would not recommend dealing with this dealership, once they sell to you, they do not care about you. RUN AWAY if you do NOT want to be treated badly. read more

If there was minus stars this dealership would get them. I saw a 2013 blue f150 4 wheel dive on carfax . It was marked down from 12,800 to 9990. We went and looked at it. And liked it. I called up too see if was still on the lot. It was I said we will be in the city on Saturday for my grand niece and wife birthday party. Well Saturday came around we left for the early . We got the dealership and I told my wife that looks like the truck we were going to buy driving off. We got inside and met at the door by Dakota the person who I talked to and many times before that. He asked if we had an appointment. I proceed to tell him I told him we were coming over the day before. We went to his desk he was very uncomfortable. He handed us off to African American guy. Was getting a little fresh with my wife. He said the truck maybe sold. But hang on. He pretend to look to see if they had another close to our price range. Nope. Still told us to hang on. We already spent more time than we wanted to and my wife was getting mad. Wanted to leave. This salesperson we were talking kept telling us to hold on. He came back and told us the people that was looking at it had poor credit and did not get it. Well by this time my wife was outside and the salesperson said my wife was causing problems she did not want to come aboard. We took it for a test drive my wife love it. This salesperson started pushing paperwork in front of us. He knew we were in a hurry. He did not explain nothing to well. He took as back to the guy who the loans. He was pushing papers in front us . He said there was 2 banks fighting over us. We went with cheaper rate. It was wake lake finance. . He said he made the loan for 9990. This was 2013 f-159 but we got some hidden chargers we got paper work by email on Monday and it read we paid the original price of 12500. We when it orbit. Called them up and said what the hell. Talk to the dealership sales manager. His name was Shawn. He said a big lie. They the price of the can go and down by depending on the market . I said do not give me that.bullshit. I said you guys just lowered the price on the truck. Well after going around and around with him he said he would give us 500 back which we had to wait on for nearly 3 weeks. He keep coming up with an excuse why the check was not in our hands. Or he would not answer his phone even if the other salespeople would rat him out. On he showed us a run down of what they do to their cars and truck showed us 8 by 10 card with all the maintenance extras then proceed to tell us were told about it no we were not. Said they were in plain site on all the salesperson desk and in the cars and trucks. I looked around did see any cards. As we were leaving about 3 weeks after we bought the truck and no check in hand cause said the computer system was down. As I was leaving I said we are going to keep badgering him until we got our check which is about 1000 short. Cause we were told a bunch of stuff. . They added in. Including hiking the price on the truck up with not knowing. I could write lots more about what to us. We got screw. This place has a rating of only 2 stars . They really give car dealerships a bad name. People told us stay away from Van. They will put charges in you do not about. I am still considering calling the Missouri attorney general office. And the better business bureau . And my wife talking to a friend she too work with and she knew all about Van. She worked at a Gm dealer near us. She gave a place to write that deals with dealerships like this. And we are going to call them too. So hold on Van tell them your lies. I Will be waiting on their generic message they get called out. If you read their reply's they basically say the same thing. We are sorry blah , blah , blah. Like I said I could on and on. I agree with what Gary from Kearney wrote go a honest dealer.
