I used to love coming to this nail place, but the last few months they've been total rip offs. I went in today wanting a fill-in and I also bought a picture of a design I wanted something really basic. It was basically pink and white ombre nails. Remind you, I was asking for a fill-in, which means I already had on Nails. She ended up charging me a full set gel coffin for $52 and top ombre color $15 plus $1.67 convenient fee making my total $68.67. I asked her why am I getting charged for full set and she informed me that she had to reshape my nails. That makes no sense if she knew that she had to do all that she should have told me that from the beginning and she could've soaked off the nails I had and started it from scratch since she was going to charge me for a brand new set price anyways. Since when did reshaping Nails turn into charging people the price of a full new set of nails I am so pissed off. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because I see this is becoming a trend with this company. All i did was push the recliner leg back in with my foot and my small toe nail popped off! I no longer get my nails done frequently, but I had a special event coming up, so wanted to treat myself. I requested a full set of acrylic nails, and was told OK and seated at one of the tables. I repeated to the nail tech what I was there for: a regular acrylic full set. After checking around, I knew their prices were a bit more ($2-5) than other locations but it was convenient and close to my home so figured it was worth it. Again, I haven't done it too often recently, but as the tech began working it seemed that all was the way I have had it done before. When it came time for applying color, I repeated that I wanted just a "regular" color, not gel. I was assured I was receiving a regular color over my "acrylic nails." The process was painful, and I even bled but I stuck with it because I wanted a nice result. Imagine my surprise when I went to the register and I was charged nearly $50 for a gel full set. When I protested and repeated that that was not the service I had requested and was expecting, I was told it was too bad...I had already received the service. I paid and left in total frustration. I rarely write reviews unless to give praise but I say this a warning to others. The people in this establishment are deceitful and dishonest. And once they have done the service with all their extra unrequested add-ons, you have no recourse. Stay away from this place. I certainly will and plan to tell all my friends. I just moved to the area and was looking for a new nail place. This place has mixed reviews and I wanted to give it a chance. It's VERY crowded and busy - which is a good sign but very over stimulating if you're looking for a relaxing time. Girl at the front desk wasn't exactly friendly. I got a basic pedicure ($38) and to add gel is $20! Which is INSANE! Massage chair was great though. Pedicure was alright but nothing to write home about. My fill cost a total of 57$ ( 40$ for fill, 15$ for my design and $3 for a cut down ) They ONLY accept cash for tips OR Venmo/cash app if the technician has it. They do have an ATM If needed. High overprice on the nails low quality and really spensive ...not all of them know how to do the designs

I've come here a few times a few years ago and was in the area. I came back bc I wanted to get a full set. Someone was available immediately which is nice but as soon as she started doing my nails I could tell they don't do a good job. To preface, I work at a nail salon as a receptionist so I see lots of sets and know for the most part how things should go. Here are some of the things I disliked: 1. Nail techs use the same towel for each customer. I'm not too picky but I thought it was kind of dirty and unsanitary. 2. When I got my nails cut down, the tech didn't file them to the same length. Only roughly cut each one and moved quickly to the tips. 3. When adding tips, she did it way too quickly. I looked over and another tech was taking her time, carefully adding the glue and picking out the correctly sizes too. My nail tech added them so quickly, often looking up at the front desk and barely paying attention. 4. I asked for a thin nails and the acrylic was way too thick and uneven. Some of it also got underneath my nails. 5. The person who painted my nails (it was a different tech) didn't do a good job either. Some of the acrylic is still without paint and the matte top coat is barely matte. Overall I am extremely disappointed. I paid $40 including tip which is less expensive than the salon I work at, but I'd rather pay more and have it done correctly. read more

My husband and I went in for pedicures and our nail techs were amazing, but when we went to check out, they had a sign saying you can only tip in cash or cannot/cashapp. At the time I had no cash, I have Venmo but my techs don't use it, and they offered up an ATM that has fees attached. I had to leave, go to Target, get cash back, then drive back after a relaxing pedicure, which was such unnecessary stress. Well, I've been going to Van Spa for 4 years now. I get my mani/pedi every time. With all the chaos going on right now, they closed their doors today at 5:00 and aren't opening until further notice. I always see Vi but when she's on vacation I see Amy. All the employees there are great. The place is very clean, the owner is very nice and is always there to welcome people. It's a very busy place and the employees are always professional, dedicated, and very nice. I would never go anywhere else to get my nails. If you are looking for the best nail salon to go to or just want to try a new place, go to Van Spa Nails. It was my first time going to this salon. I apparently came at a busy time. I'd recommend making an appointment if you plan on going in around 3-4 on a weekday. It took about 20 minutes of waiting, and then Tom took me to his table. It was $30 for a full set with a coffin shape. He was nice, and he did a great job! Very nice nail salon and ran like and well oiled machine even though it's packed at 9:30 am as soon as they are open!! Lots of tvs, well venilated, and pumping AC. They have at least 20 nail tables and 10 pedicure chairs. Spa like music plays. Plently of parking. No water or tea offered. Walk ins welcomed - they have a bunch of people on staff on Saturdays to prevent total failure. Arylic fill-in $18 (which is semi suspect since pink and white fill is $15 and gel fill is $20) French $5, acrylic full-set $25, and they have dip powder! I was going there for a few months and each time it was a little off, nothing major just kept waiting for an appt, not polishing a whole nail, etc. This past Tues I had Mindy do my pedicure and she ripped my little toe nail, wanted to clip it (I didn't let her) and had to practically beg for a band aid. I'm going to be honest as a 3 year-ish customer. This place is hit or miss. They have a lot of different products. They're usually up to date when it comes to the "new thing" of nails but not all technicians have the training to back it up. They don't necessarily separate anyone into their strengths and weaknesses to ensure a great experience, it's kinda just a "who's the most available" kind of deal every time. Most of them talk on the phone, watch videos, or have headphones in regardless of if they have customers or not so having a conversation and finding someone truly likable is nearly impossible. I usually go for a full set and pedicure but I never do them at the same time. Every time I do, they rush through one of them and I don't have the time to continue to correct someone just because they don't "have the time" to do their job right the first time. Brow services are okay and honestly I'll go back because they follow the natural shape, they make sure they're even, they do well enough, but they always burn my eyes. I tell them every time I have sensitive skin and need cooler wax and they never listen. Overall, everything is "okay" about this salon. They don't do anything phenomenal. Their pricing is so iffy and always changing. Definitely only go back because it's convenient in my area. read more

Update, 4 months later: would most definitely give this place -5 stars if I could. My nails haven't finished healing from the worst set I've ever gotten. It took over 2 hours to try and get them off. Soaked in pure acetone for 30 minutes, and no budging. Eventually got them off, but now my nails are left with a weird ridge. Almost gone, but where the ridge gets closer to my fingertips, they're incredibly sensitive, painful, and weak. Any sort of pressure will cause them to bend & break a little more. I had a poor experience. I'd been going to another salon owned by the same family for a while, but Vans is closer to home. I tried them out and wanted to get the "seashell" glitter on my nails. I asked if it would cover evenly on my whole nail. I was told yes by two different techs. That was not the case. Half of the really nice glitter was sanded and filed off so that there were few scattered pieces left. Not what I wanted. My tech tried to ignore my faces and continued talking to the tech next to her so that I had to chance to tell her I was unhappy. I finally did when my wife came over and agreed that it was subpar. We had to use glitter paint to cover the mess she made. You cannot see any of the seashell stuff... I was still charged for it, plus for the gel polish. In addition to that, she did a horrible job shaping my nails. I always get rounded square, but the nails were crooked and had so much acrylic left under my nails. I'm not usually upset to get charges for services rendered, but I do not get to have the design I wanted. Why not take the extra charge off to get me to come back? I've been here twice now and enjoyed both experiences. They've expanded the salon a ton, so I haven't had to wait for a pedicure either time! I get the basic pedicure with an extra 10 minute massage (which is $10 extra). I think the prices are great and the service is awesome. My nails have looked good both times and the leg & foot massage was amazing. As a mom, getting a pedicure by myself at this place was so relaxing. I had a different guy both times and they were both funny, friendly, and good at their job. The last time I went, I also got my lip waxed. It was my first time getting waxed, and it was really quick and easy. Plus it's only $6 to get your lip waxed. But the little room where they waxed me was kind of dirty and a little sketchy.
