Food: Authentic, nothing overly done, very simple menu. Generally overall just decently priced and good. Pho (7/10) a lot of broth, nice and light, good portions of meat. Banh Mi (8/10) options are good, even offering Philly cheese steaks haha! I think they use Hellmans mayo but add in a little extra seasonings/aromatics in it just to help accentuate the flavor of it but I could be wrong, still good. Service: Quick! They waste no time to get the food out as soon as it's ready. Then again, they aren't as busy as I wish they were (hope their business stays afloat) but no complaints whatsoever. If you are southeast asian, you kind of get the gist of how their demeanor is (no offense intended) but it's just how it is (they aren't rude, if that's what you're getting from this review). New restaurant that opened in September. It's super clean, and the tables are well-spaced out. The menu is limited, but everything is very affordable. We ordered a grilled shrimp salad and 2 Pho Tai specials. The grilled shrimp salad was amazing and pretty large portions. Basically a papaya salad with grilled shrimp. They have two soups- Sate beef soup- our reccomendation, sooooooo delicious and seems to be similar to tan tan ramen broth with spicy flare, but bold flavor. I ordered a pork Banh Mi sandwich. The bread was so old and hard it shredded my gums like eating broken glass. There was so little pork. The one thing it should've had, shredded daikon in abundance, I saw mayve three hair like slivers, almost none, nor any carrots, and one piece of Romaine stuffed on top like they don't care. So i came in and got the grilled pork vermicelli and i have to say that the flavors were heavenly. First, the portion is actually good for it, no complaints Second, the flavors. The grilled pork was very tender and had that sweet, bbq taste to it. Mix the noodles and bbq pork with the sauce they provide to you (a fish sauce blend?) and u get a hearty and flavorful bowl of yummy noodles. they also have sriracha chili, oyster sauce, and a container of chili blend thats mildly sweet and smokey in flavor. Mix those in to ur bowl and the flavors all just work together to leave an impact in ur mouth (u can do without the extra condiments--but if u love flavors and chili, i definitely recommend to mix ur food with the container of the chili blend) Wish the restaurant the best! We were staying in and a beautiful country inn near Hilo (I think south) and we wanted something on the lighter side. We now live in an area that does not have any options in the way of Asian food so decided on Vietnamese. It was getting dark and I was having a hard time finding parking for Pho Viet so looked on Yelp and found this place. The pork bun was so good that I ate the whole meal. I had ordered my husband two orders of spring rolls - the standard ones, but also the grilled pork spring rolls - something we haven't tried. They were good sized also. Pho broth was on point!!! Limited menu, two staff restaurant (1 cook , 1 host/server/runner). I was sad when I learned they ran out of banh mi sandwiches, but the waiter told me I could always call in and reserve a sandwich before it sells out for the day! You won't get as many extra veggies as other pho places, but once I tasted the broth and learned they are a two team operation, I let it go. Be patient when you come here or order ahead! Hands down the best place for Pho. The broth has a deep rich flavor, that only can be achieved by cooking the bones & seasoning together for a very long time. You really don't need to add the hoisin sauce. I would recommend just adding the chili oil, especially if you like your pho spicy like I do. Their Grilled beef sandwich is another winner here. It has this nice crunch when you bite into it, but yet the inside bread is still soft. Which makes the sandwich so much enjoyable to eat. We stopped by around 7:00 pm on a Friday night, for take-out. The order came out right away, there was hardly any wait time. We ordered the sate-beef noodle soup, spring rolls and the house special noodle soup. The soup base of the sate-beef looks spicy, but it wasn't and it was full of flavor, very delicious. The tomatoes and peanuts added to the flavor. The house special has a clear broth. Other reviews mentioned it has a clean taste and they were right. Worth mentioning again, clear broth, clean taste, not salty. They use egg noodles, so my blood sugars didn't spike too high. I appreciated that the soup was packed separately from the noodles, so the noodles had a good texture and wasn't soggy by the time we got home. I ordered a grilled pork Banh Mi and it was so good 5 Stars, 2nd time I ordered a Char Shu Banh Mi and it was horrible 1 Star, the third time and my last time I ordered another grilled pork..it was very spicy and they put the cilantro on with the stem... I love this new restaurant. It's a small menu; basically they have pork, beef and shrimp and you can get it in a banh sandwich, glass noodles, or rice plate. They also have a few soups and appetizers. My favorite was the papaya salad--the dressing was incredible. Everything was really fresh, tasty and affordable. And the space was really clean.
