Food is good and service is very fast. Went in to order a take out and wait time was very minimal.

This place was amazing on our visit. The Vietnamese coffee was so delicious, and the chili oil with our pho was enough to bring us back

Delicious and reasonably priced. We ordered the Beef sate egg noodle soup, beef vermicelli, and pho combination. We all thought it was tasty. Their homemade chili oil is out of this world. Great service and bright clean ambiance.

Ive eaten quite a few pho on Oahu, and this place in Hilo is top notch! I got super happy with the quantity and quality of the chicken pho I ordered. It was savory, with large pieces of chicken and was accompanied by a good amount of fresh basil and bean sprouts. My boyfriend ordered the kalbi beef plate and said it was really tasty. It's a hole in the wall location, but very clean and bright. It's quite affordable for what you get. I'm definitely coming back to try out the other dishes on menu. I hope they stick around forever, highly recommend!!

My partner and I were running errands in Hilo this weekend and it was a cold & rainy day. We were both in the mood for Pho. Yelp reviews led us to Van's! Since I primarily live in Honolulu, where there are many Vietnamese restaurants around, I was looking forward to seeing how the food would be. It did not disappoint. This is a family run, very clean and bright restaurant with very good food. Service is welcoming and appreciative. We both had the Chicken Pho and shared a Banh Mi sandwich. The Banh Mi was IMO excellent! We both could not finish our Pho and had leftovers to enjoy later. Highly Recommend!

Almost gone! Vietnamese ice coffee.

The restaurant is clean and the service efficient. The food was very tasty, especially the grilled pork and grilled beef in the sandwich. The food is well presented - though for the rice plate the portion is relatively small. Having said that the reasonable pricing is probably reflective of the portions. As Americans we just eat too much! These portions are probably more correct! We enjoyed the Grilled Pork Rice Plate, the Grilled Beef sandwich, Spring Rolls and a Vietnamese ice coffee. All really tasty. In any case, this was a good stop with the best selection of Vietnamese favorites. The menu is not extensive but focused on the most popular items. We will definitely we back.

My friend and I have been trying a bunch of different places for Pho lately. I think this might be…read morethe best so far! The broth was deeply flavored, the perfect mix of all the flavors. Not only is the food great but the service was as well. We waited a little bit because it was packed and as we're waiting we got to talking story with an auntie that was also waiting. Long story short she ended up joining us and we had an awesome time! Pho Viet is an awesome place in Hilo. It feels warm and inviting. Everyone was very friendly.

First off, any place my wife wants to go to several times means it must be at the top of the food chain! Pho Viet is located in back of Garden Exchange. Apparently there are two pho places so look for Pho Viet - on the right side. Be careful when walking from Haili street as there are sketchy people hanging out on both sides of the road. (What happened Hilo??). Unfortunately there is hardly any parking so you probably have to walk to the restaurant from away. When you go inside the place is pretty small like 6-8 tables but it's constantly filled with people. They all look like they are enjoying their meal. The lady that runs the place is super nice and lets my wife bring her own "additions" to the pho. The pho is really good and you can choose from the usual choices - flank, beef round, tendon, meatball. The broth is delicious and you can order extra noodles which I did. The chili pepper sauce is really really good but make sure you taste and taste. I made mine a little too spicy and had to add more broth - which they made and gave to me. Excellent!!!!!! After eating the bowl, I felt good. I was stuffed but in a good way. The feeling lasted all night and I never had to eat again for the rest of the day and I slept great ! There was a constant flow of people. I guess everyone knows how good this place is. My brother in law says this place is the best in Hilo. I believe it.

I'm unsure of how she couldn't see the shoyu stains nor the chili sauce on the napkins. It felt very unsanitary. We then placed our orders knowing what we wanted and the food came out surprisingly fast for oxtail PHO. The pho barely had any vegetables inside and when I bit into the oxtail it tasted frozen. The meat was hot but it almost tasted as if it was in the freezer too long. Not to mention the price ($23) for a bowl the size of my two hands! We also tried their rice cake and it wasn't fresh at all! The lady who took our order grabbed it from the refrigerator and hopped it in the microwave for a few seconds and served it to us. I don't think I would ever come back here again, I don't care how nice the waitress was, as a person who loves PHO, I was severely disappointed.

I really loved the fried taro, best part of the dish. On the house they gave us a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream for my birthday, a hat, and a candle! Super sweet of them. We showed up right when they opened at 5:30 p.m. without reservations on a Wednesday evening and was luckily able to get seated at the bar. Between the two of us, we ordered a bunch of items off the "small" section of the menu, including the smokey sashimi, sizzling tetsuyaki poke, smoked tonnato caesar, crispy rice, and their special of the day -- agedashi wontons. Of the items we ordered, the crispy rice and the agedashi wontons were my favorite items. The crispy rice is priced per piece, and you'll certainly want to order at least two per person, because one is simply not enough. The rice block is fried a beautiful golden brown -- similar to a hash brown. The crispy rice pairs perfectly with the ono mixture on top of it. With the agedashi wontons, I initially thought the filling was a bit under-seasoned at first, but when enjoyed with the broth, the wonton comes out tasting perfectly seasoned. The broth had so much umami to it and the wonton had the perfect crunch to it I always love a good Caesar salad and the one here is spectacular. With anchovy croutons, shaved cured egg yolk, and smoked ahi dressing, you're getting some creative, premium ingredients in this salad and everything works so well together. Even if you're not a salad person, I would definitely recommend giving this dish a try. On top of delicious food, the service at Moon & Turtle was spectacular. Food was promptly brought out after we placed our order, pacing didn't ever feel rushed, our water cups were never empty, and our server checked on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. I would definitely stop by Moon & Turtle again if I'm in Hilo.

The servers were running around all night, and it seemed that they were a little bit understaffed. However, they still did their best to attend to us, and food came out promptly. As most other pho shops, they provide plenty of bean sprouts, mint, lemons, and sauces (oyster sauce/Sriracha) to enjoy. Pho Rare Beef (6.5/10) - the broth was good, flavorful, rich and salty as expected from Vietnamese pho. As this spot is kind of a Viet/Chinese fusion, don't go in expecting the best pho of your life. However, the broth is definitely delicious and will fix your pho cravings - only comment is regarding the beef itself. Some of the pieces were definitely a little thicker, tougher, and at points difficult to chew. The beef was not then these sliced into the brisket that I'm used to finding, but that's OK Overall, pretty good pho spot on the Big Island with quite tasty broth. Only wish that the beef was either thinner and easier to chew, or more tender.
