I called Pierce County Handyman for reinstalling 4 outside corner sections of baseboard and adjusting 2 transition pieces that had been installed improperly previously. They scheduled me for a visit about a week later so an estimate could be provided. Then a day before the scheduled visit, they asked to reschedule it due to a personal reason. I agreed to reschedule. They showed up on the second appointment and provided me with a service quote and a proposed service date. I got back to them 2 days later confirming the service and was informed the previously proposed date was no longer available. They then proposed a new date in the morning which I agreed to it. 1 day before their schedule service date, they call asking to reschedule from morning to afternoon, which I also agreed to. Then on the date of service, they texted me 2 hours before their scheduled start time to attempt to reschedule for a different date. I let them know that I had made plans for the work to be done that day and that if not possible, then to cancel the whole thing. They weren't able to come out and the service was canceled at my request. A total of 3 weeks and a half went by with multiple service days agreed to and subsequently rescheduled on Pierce County Handyman's request. In the end, no work was done...

Also, as women, I can't tell you how many times we've both had contractors talk down to us, and that was never the case with Matt. He was always friendly, professional, and respectful. And he even brought treats for our dog, who adores him! We hired Matt to help renovate part of our detached garage into a home gym. When he initially came out to see the space so he could give an accurate quote, he took about an hour so that we could talk through ideas and what he thought was feasible. His quote for the work was incredibly reasonable, and the quality of the work is stellar. He also kept the space clean as he worked, so we never needed to worry about there being random screws or sharp objects left around that we or our dog might step on. He removed a garage door, partially reframed one of the garage walls that was out of whack, installed several windows and a new door (and even picked them all up from Lowe's so that we didn't have to figure out how to fit them into our car!), and replaced the insulation in the space as needed. We opted to paint the space and install the vinyl plank flooring ourselves, but once we finished that up, Matt returned to install all of the trim, and even special ordered a piece of flooring for near the door, so that it matched. We already have a few more upcoming projects in mind for the house, and will definitely reach out to Matt first!

I got bids, and was the most impressed with Danny L at Signature Windows. We had a tight deadline because the home was going on the market and access to the window, especially in the rain, was really challenging. Meeting the deadline, and the safety of the installers, were non-negotiable. Danny came out the very next day to measure the Window From Hell and, not only did he give me the best price, but his company was the only one that had all the scaffolding equipment readily available at no extra charge. The window arrived sooner than expected, and installation was quickly scheduled to meet the deadline. Then we hit a snag: some epic rain made the cedar roof too slippery for safe conditions. Brent and his crew of expert (and very brave) installers rigged up a safe way to haul this brand-new Mother of ALL Windows up to the second floor and install it using very long ladders, secure scaffolding, and harnesses. I think we had 4 or 5 installers for this job. It took all day to get the old Window From Hell out and the new Mother of All Windows installed. But what a job! Perfect caulk lines, perfect cleaning of the glass, perfect clean-up of the job site, indoors and out. Job done ON TIME, SAFELY, and at an excellent price. If Signature can handle my Window From Hell, I am very confident they can install ordinary double-hung windows that exceed your expectations for quality, price, timeliness, and workmanship. This has been the most god awful experience dealing with a company in my life. I bought a $14k door…read morethat was installed entirely wrong and the door was damaged in the process. They also cut open an entire wall without even sealing off the dust. The company then tried to convince me to just leave the door as is for a discount or that they could trim it out. I opted for a proper install. They sent the "A" team this time and reinstalled it after weeks of waiting for the new door. During this process I had been noticing bugs in my house as well. I couldn't figure out why it was happening after the door was installed. After the second install, I continued seeing bugs. I contacted the company and they weren't sure how they were getting in. There was no site inspection to figure it out though. I started looking at the door myself and realized that they screwed up the install AGAIN! There are missing weather strips on the door and it's literally an express lane into our house for bugs. This was brought to the company's attention in August with the original door, and early September for the second door. It is September 25th, I have been getting ghosted when inquiring about the ETA on the weatherstripping. Meanwhile, my house is a bug trap and I'm constantly having to vacuum dead bugs and set out bug trap lights to keep my wife from freaking out. I would stay far away from this company if you are looking for a reputable installer and vendor. I actually had a couple contractors show up for other jobs/quotes and immediately comment on the terrible install of the 1st door. If zero stars were a rating on this site they'd have gotten a zero. You've been warned!
