I had a sliding barn door installed in the primary bedroom to enclose the bathroom. I contacted Vancouver Glass to provide estimate on adding a mirror to both sides. They came and gave the estimate, picked up the door and added a mirror to both sides and in about a week they let me know it was ready. They came and brought the door back and re-installed it. We showed up with an old window frame and glass. The glass had been shattered on the inside sheet of glass and we just needed that replaced. They quickly got to it. The employees measured the needed sheet, cleaned up and taped the broken part so that I could get it back into the frame at home and keep the weather out for a few days until the ordered glass had been ordered and then arrived. At that point they were again quick and professional. The price for all was good and we appreciated their attitude, suggestions and quality work. Two years ago I picked up a piece of debris from a passing vehicle on the hiway. It struck the bubble window on the front of the sleeper on my Class C RV, shattering the molded plexiglas. I pulled off at the first town I came to, found a hardware store, and bought some heavy gage sheet vinyl and some very expensive adhesive, and did my best to provide a reliable temporary patch. For two years it kept out the wind and rain, time I needed to conduct a search for a replacement window. What I found was that no one is currently making a bubble window of the same dimensions. Time get creative and do something! I asked around the RV shops in this area, and finally got a consensus that there is one glass shop the majority of them employ to replace or repair damaged glass or plastic windows in their customers RV's; Vancouver Glass. I drove over and spoke to Chris and Scotty about my dilemma. They took a look at it, and then told me how they would fix it. I decided to trust their experience and in minutes they'd removed my (by now pretty ratting looking) temporary patch, removed the shards of shattered plastic from the original window, cleaned up the glue residue, made their measurements, a put on on a cleaner temporary fix. It was all over then except for the waiting for the new window to arrive. That was on Thursday. On Monday I got a call from Chris letting me know the new glass had arrived, and set me up for the following morning fir installation. I was there on schedule and they had me drive right into the shop and got to work on it. The glass was a specialty tempered automotive safety glass with rounded corners and dimensions sized to the hole in my motorhome, made to order for this particular job. It had also been heavily tinted. Beautiful glass that I'd be happy to have mounted in a wall in my house! In just an hour, it was installed, sealed and ready to go. It looks far too rich for this shoddy 40 year old RV, but eventually I'll get used to it! The great thing is that it came through for much less cost than they had originally estimated, which fit my fixed-budget very nicely. I honestly hope that I never need to call on these guys for their professional skills and experience again, but if I ever need new glass for my car, RV, or house again, I will consider myself lucky to have these guys working with me once more. A logging truck kicked up a rock that shattered my driver side window. When I called Vancouver Glass Co they confirmed they had the correct glass within minutes and fit me in the next morning. They were quick, efficient, and kind and they even vacuumed the broken glass on the floor boards that I didn't have time to vacuum before I brought it in. My car window completely came out of its track and wouldn't roll back up and they're the only place that said I could come in and they would take a look and see if he can at least get it rolled up until it can be fixed. the downtown location sucks! I rather spend twice as much somewhere else! Ive been by there 3 times now only to find a handwritten sign in the door window with inccorrect info! Yesterday it said back at 3 but they weren't! Today it said back at noon so I went back at after 1:00 and guess what. Same sign with no one there! Big suprise!! What a way to run a business. I was really impressed with the service. I called hoping to get in quickly and they told me to come down. I thought I had a new chip but they were honest and said it had already been repaired and in fact even did an extra seal at no cost to ensure water wouldn't get in. We had gone to Vancouver Glass Co. in Orchards and the person we talked to there was so rude and not helpful at all. We showed him a hand mirror that the mirror was broken. He told us they could not work on something like the hand mirror and he couldn't figure out how to get the mirror (was just simple latch) out of the frame. when I asked him if he knew of any other places he responded in a rude voice "no"...also the guy needs to clean his finger nails! If I could give Vancouver Glass zero stars, I would. I'm only glad we took our door in to be repaired a month ahead of when I needed it, because it took them about 3 weeks to get it done, and they were beyond rude through the entire experience. The sales person (and from what it sounds like, he is the owner) was extremely rude on the phone when my husband called to inquire about getting one pane of glass replaced. Brand new customers, we should have just found another place. When he dropped off the door, my husband paid ahead of time, something the owner said he doesn't usually see. He was told it'd be a week to repair it. When 10 days went by, we called and the same rude person picked up and first could not find the order, then said they'd forgotten to order the glass. Another week went by and still no call. We call and they say they've left a ton of messages. Then find out they wrote down my husband's number as a phone number that starts with a 1, not a 7... and that wasn't any indicator to them that it was their error. Or that dialing a number that starts with a 1 isn't going to lead to a voicemail. When my husband picked up the door, the owner was his usual delightful self "oh you're the guy who doesn't pick things up promptly..." as if it were his fault they forgot to fill the PREPAID order, wrote down a phone number that doesn't make sense, and didn't even complete the order in a reasonable amount of time. I need to replace 7 windows in my new house and will learn to cut glass myself to avoid this place. We work hard for our money and want to support local businesses, but this is one I decidedly cannot support. If you want your job done correctly, promptly, and without anyone being a complete douchecanoe about performing an advertised service for your hard-earned money, avoid this place. read more

I called asking if they would be able to provide me with a quote if I emailed them a diagram of the glass that I would like installed. After receiving their email address, I waited for confirmation that they had received the email and would get back once they had a chance to review the diagram. After two days and figuring that they were busy, I quickly shot them a call to ask about timeline for receiving the quote whether it be a day or a week - I'm in no rush - just wanted to have a frame of reference so I could plan accordingly. So I get them on the phone and upon inquiring whether they had received my email requesting a quote, the man who answered the phone simply replied, "Yeah." Surprised that they had received it and not confirmed receiving it, I asked if they had also had a chance to prepare the quote, to which he replied, "Probably not." I then asked if there was an estimate of how long it might take to prepare an estimate and he responded, "You'll have it when we do it." I knew at that point that working with this company would be a nightmare and told them not to bother with the quote. I can't imagine what a pain it would be to actually hire these guys after my first thirty seconds of interaction with them. I am willing to pay more to work with any other company based solely on the inability of Vancouver Glass to clearly communicate. read more

He told me to wait while he called his tech. While he was talking to his tech I heard the entire conversation. "This chris Guy is calling and says you are supposed to be there at 8 and we don't even start until 8." The conversation went on how I was at fault. Over the past year, I had purchased two pieces of furniture that needed a glass surface to be custom made - one oval (imperfect oval) and one circle. I brought in the pieces of furniture, within a few hours, they created the surfaces and exceeded my expectations on the quality of the workmanship and the prices were awesome! They made the custom oval shaped glass to perfection - I was pleasantly stunned :) In fact, the glass was so perfect for the imperfect oval furniture, that it could only fit one way into the oval surface, making a perfect surface and perfectly level. This place wasted my time!! I called at 3:15 and explained my situation which the guy told me to come on in and they would check it out for free and we can go from there. I explained i was going to hit some traffic and wouldn't make it until a little after 4, seeing they close at 5 I asked him if that would be a problem and he said no. I came in a little after 4 and the manager (forget his name, only guy there tho) seemed rushed and busy and told me "I need to install this window in and blah blah, could you come back in 30 minutes" I told him yeah sounds great, I need to run an errand real quick anyways. I come back in 30 minutes and ask how everything is going and the guy seems even more rushed and was like "I still have to put this window in and blah blah and if you wanted me to help you ... FOR FREE ... (making me feel like the victim even though he blatantly told me on the phone it would be free and I definitely wasn't trying to swindle my way into free help, just going with what he offered) That I would have to wait until like 10 or 11pm... and frankly I cant help you today!" I told him that I was very disappointed that I wasted my time rushing in traffic across town to get to his establishment only to be shut down ... twice! I feel they completely wasted my time!! I went down there, then came back, and then was shut down completely! I will NEVER go back to this place, and feel I was extremely respectful during the whole process only to my night jumbled around and end up with nothing! The guy seemed very nice on the phone obviously trying to get business in there, but once potential business was in there he did not treat it very well. Save yourself time and go to someone more honest and who will actually work on your car / window / glass when they say they will! read more

12 years ago I had a bad windshield install job from a sheister place in Portland that left my windshield leaking and the trim bent. I went into Vancouver Glass and they showed me the problem, then fixed it. Since that time I have been a loyal customer, and have had at least half a dozen windshields replaced, twice side door auto glass replaced, a difficult classic car done, a screen door fixed, and multiple pieces of custom glass cut. Every time I get a fair price, and good work. In 2006 I needed a difficult to find windshield and the manager spent a long time hunting it down, finally finding it in a warehouse in Virginia! This is the only place I will go for all my auto glass, and other glass. The same manager has been there since the first time I walked in, and he is still doing a great job. These days, such continuity and expertise is nice to find. read more

I came in to get a small chip repaired and Nolan put a large crack across my windshield. He lied to me and said it appeared before he started working on it, despite not moving my car and the chip had occurred over a month ago and had never grown. He fixed the chip for free (likely so my car wasn't on record of being serviced there) but left this huge crack significantly worse than the barely visible chip i brought my car in to fix. I called the manager saying I was uncomfortable with the situation and he basically told me to f*** off. He said I could buy a new windshield from them at my expense or we were done. read more

I would NOT recommend Vancouver Glass to anyone. The manager complained constantly about not getting the right fit for my windows and matching the grids. It took them 3 months to get it right. The manager would complain constantly: "I'm loosing money on your windows. I'm working too many hours to come out to your house. I don't get paid much. etc." The worst part is when he put the glass in the windows, he scraped the window casings and sash. I saw him put the window on the concrete, but thought he would not work on it there. But, now I have a white window with black scratches all over it and they (manager and owner) REFUSE to fix it ! Over a period of about 3 years I used Vancouver glass for 3 separate projects. I was thrilled with each of them. First, a custom glass top for a dining room table - I was looking for the clearest quality glass so I got the rating of the glass I wanted and went looking for product and quote. From enquiry to telephone service, to quote and measure, to install, staff were courteous and professional. With that, a couple of years later I called for a quote on a glass pony wall. I described the hardware I wanted to the guys who came out to do the quote, they got me exactly what I wanted, and again delivered and installed with courtesy and professionalism. The last project was for a shower stall, again I got what I wanted, and again delivered and installed with courtesy and professionalism. Prices were as quoted, and excellent value for quality. I would note that a neighbour liked what I did with the pony wall so much that she had it done, except she used her own glass company. The run around she got, the terrible hardware they insisted she use, as well as insisting on drilling though her hardwood floor (which damaged her dryer electrical below...- it was so different then the seamless design and quality I got from Vancouver glass. Vancouver Glass walked me through the process of ordering a large piece of glass for a custom table, from selection of material to thickness to edging. I can't imagine how the process could have been made simpler or faster, and the turn-around on the order was also very simple and fast. I'm not going to say where they agreed to deliver the thing, because I'm sure it was a hassle and I don't want too sign them up for doing that too often, *but* they gracefully put up with the hassle. The piece was also a good 15-20% cheaper than other estimates I'd gotten. I'd definitely work with these guys again. Great company. read more

I have a large double pane window that the seal is broken on and I called Vancouver Glass for an estimate. We agreed on a price and made an appointment for them to come to my home for measurements. They stated they would call in the AM on the set date to advise when the technician would arrive. On the day of the appointment I received no call so around 2:00pm I gave them a call. They advised they were too busy to handle our business and would not be following through with the appointment. No excuses just a bad attitude. please read all reviews of vancouver glass. they are all true--i wish i would have read them before i got involved. the only sane one at vancouver glass is the guy who comes out to measure for your shower door. i paid $1k on 9/3 and was promised the door would be ready 10/7 for guests i was having. they never called me - i called them twice and blaze, colin and owner dale are all rude, condescending and don't care if they have your work or not. after i went in yesterday to pick out a different glass to get it done timely, blaze the manager told me 'i'm not the shower dept'---he was horrible. he called his tech who was just as bad. i called dale owner and he didn't seem to care--they called me today to tell me they don't want to do my project!!! i have never been treated so rude in all my 75 years!!! read more
