Legacy Glass installed several windows in our home a few years ago. A 6' x 6' picture window in the living room was installed with several chips. Legacy insisted we get a manufacturer's rep to determine blame. When manufacturer said the damage was caused by Legacy, Legacy installed a clear glass window which does not match the adjoining tinted windows. So this past Tuesday, my friend opened and dropped a very old residential window (without ropes) in my home, causing it to break. The next day, I called about 10+ different window replacement businesses including Home Depot for quotes. Half of them never called me back, a couple said they wouldn't come out to only do one window, and the others were just very short with me on the phone. All the quotes I was able to obtain were within the $325-400 range since I didn't feel comfortable removing the window myself after watching a bunch of tutorials on Youtube. Legacy Glass was the first business I actually called. I worked with Julia who was very knowledgable and friendly over the phone. She asked me for pertinent information on the phone and to also text her photos of the window along with some dimensions in order to provide me a quote of $350-400 (10% discount from the website already included). This was the only business that asked for photos and dimensions which made me feel like they actually know what they were doing. Julie reached out to me the next day to see if I had decided on which direction I was going to go, and since they were the only ones who actually followed up with me and seemed pleasant to work with, I decided to go with Legacy Glass. She was able to confirm that the work would not exceed $400 and sent out a tech within hours of me confirming I was ready to replace the window. The tech, Dean, called me when he was on the way to my house, about 10-15 mins out. He was also very friendly, knowledgable and got along with my dog! He explained to me what he had to do before he did it, handled the old wood frame and window with care, and all the work was done within an hour and a half. Dean did a fantastic job! I am so thankful I decided to work with Legacy Glass. I felt very comfortable with them, and now I know exactly who to go to for any glass work including anything needed on my car. We came home on a Saturday to find one of the windows surrounding our front door broken. A rock hit my windshield on the highway on a Sunday morning and I called my insurance. They referred me to the Glass Doctor and since my car is new, they asked me to stop by their shop so they can check it out and make sure they order the correct parts. Legacy Glass made a very unfortunate event feel a little more okay! I woke up to find someone had shattered my rear door window probably in hopes of finding something to steal. Nothing ended up being taken as there was nothing of value, but I was still left with a huge mess. I called multiple shops in Portland and no one could fix it for 4 days! I went to work with a taped up garbage bag window, not feeling good about leaving my car like that on the street for the next few days. I gave Legacy Glass a call because they weren't far from my work. They were incredibly sweet and helpful and were able to fix my window the same day. The front desk ladies and the workers were both kind and professional. They vacuumed my entire car and ended up being able to replace the window for $30 cheaper than other places had quoted! Awesome customer service!!! I can't say enough about their followup and professionalism. We delayed our project to contact other project people as we are needing LOTS of different types of repairs around the house. Anyways, Legacy Glass kept calling to see where we were in the decision process and if we had any questions they could help us with. They were polite and very professional and patient every time they called us. We ended up choosing a different company only because the other company offers more of what we were looking for (We have lots of very large special order size windows due to the odd shapes and sizes). But if we needed a smaller window project or auto repair glass project this is the company we would choose. Their prices were in the ball park with the other companies. We just feel the other company might have more experience fitting our personal needs. I can't say anything about the working crew as we didn't hire them but the customer service is what customer service should be.
