SERVICE -- I walked in and was greeted with a "hello" by a woman at the front desk. She was friendly so was Jeff Broestl, the owner. WATCH BATTERY REPAIR -- The whole process took about 5 minutes. Service was quick and efficient. I got a new battery placed in my watch and it costs $10 before tax. They also can adjust your watch band which I should have asked them to do for me. This is a local business in Lakewood that makes custom jewellery. If you are looking for an engagement ring, wedding ring, and other fine jewellery then stop by here. I came back about a month later to have it re-adjusted, and it was taken care of, again, as a complimentary service. I came back again several months later for a re-adjustment , and a different sales rep. was present. When I asked to have the adjustment, He looked at me almost like I was an intruder, and then my watch, and then said in a blunt and somewhat intimidating way "twenty dollars". I said it was taken care of free of charge last time, and he said " No. We don't do that. We don't even carry that brand . It's twenty dollars". I was quite surprised at the attitude of this person, and asked to talk to management. He said " OK, but he'll just tell you the same thing". So, a fella with grey hair came out from the back room with the meanest and nastiest look on his face, and a glare in his eyes that made me wonder if he was all right. He also told me, in an extremely angry and intimidating way ,"We don't do that!". I told him that it was already adjusted two times this year, complimentary, and he said, "No it wasn't!", and then I said, calmly, "Yes, it was." He asked when, and I told him , and again , he said "No it wasn't!". Then he asked who the sales rep. was, and when I described the person , he said angrily, " That's my NEPHEW!". WOW!! OK, well, I didn't come here to argue, so I wished him well, and stopped in to a local competitor, where they happily adjusted the band free of charge. It really helps to be courteous to people. Now, I have a new jeweler to give my business to. Geez. If only I could give a -0 rating. 1 star is just to generous. I live in the same neighborhood. There's a good reason his parking lot is usually empty. Thoughts of retirement should definitely be given high priority here.

The Ring: The ring is rose gold with a modified, diamond lined infinity band. The 1.0 karat round diamond sits elevated on top. Folks, this is the most attractive ring anyone of our peers have ever seen. it is NOT a 20,000$ ring, yet Veronica's ring gets compliments more than those who have far more expensive rings. Why? it is because Rivchun and Sons know what they are doing. It is the woman whose finger the ring is on... It is the custom work... and lets face it, the high grade diamonds make a huge difference. First experience... I came out from Los Angeles, as my brother and relatives in the past have used Rivchun. The Rivchuns are now the Soukeniks, and Joe Soukenik is the master jeweler and owner. Been there for most of his life, smiling with thanksgiving. His staff is friendly, all of them are into what they do. Without exaggeration, Joe Soukenik has probably brought hundreds of individuals in to his windowed office and has spent the great expense of time with them explaining Diamonds (gradations, shapes, ratings, and all the rest). He took Veronica and I into his office and spent an hour and a half with us. He is so excited about his work, and you can tell that it isn't a rouse. He would've spent 5 hours with us if we had that many questions. We left with greater understanding. Joe is a disarming, attentive person. He also has that great Cleveland work ethic that few folks know about. We live in LA, grew up in Cleveland. i'll tell you, I don't know one Clevelander that doesn't consider a work week to be less than 50+ hours. The best, and they pride themselves on their work, which is why Clevelanders set a high bar for the businesses they patronize. In LA, we give thanks if an employee says hello. Joe, thank you for your endless patience. At no point did your tail feathers get ruffled, as I know I delayed and kept changing ideas. Anyways, we are so happy to be established with you all. Joe has recently been blessed (and he knows it) to have his son Jack join the team. Jack is a younger version of Joe and emits the same high vibes. Rare. While it may exist, I know of no other jeweler that will treat each customer with the same respect and same price point. I am not the most trusting when it comes to jewelers. I checked out everything claimed here, and voiced skepticism. Rivchun holds up and they are smart because they do what they love and beleive in great service. The Parking is simple, for being in a historic downtown Cleveland building. you simply park on the 3rd or 4th floor in the parking garage next door, and there is a skywalk to the City Club building. Fun. Bonus: For our wedding, they loaned Veronica these jaw dropping barcelona diamond earrings (potato chip shaped). It is these things that make a big difference.
