Well I banged said rock so hard against a shelf at Ikea that the stone loosened in the setting. Darn. I actually said a whole lot worse than darn...but I won't go there. I was so upset I cried all the way home. I actually stopped for a minute around Youngstown, but that was only because I had to go into a gas station to use the restroom. The tears resumed when I was back in the car. I just didn't know what to do. My fiancee bought the ring in his hometown of Atlanta, and when he called his jeweler they told him to just send the ring to them and they will fix it. Um, yeah right. There was no way I was sending my ring anywhere in the mail. Luckily my wonderful uncle offered to take me to his jeweler, Jim Vandemark, to have him look at the ring. And am I sure glad he did. Jim was very kind and professional. I was instantly at ease and knew my ring was in the best hands. He explained my options on how to have my ring fixed and promised me it would look like new once they were done with it. And he kept that promise. When I picked up the ring I almost cried with relief...it looks AMAZING! And I was surprised at how reasonable the repair charge was. I cannot say enough things about Vandemark. An engagement ring is the most important piece of jewelry a woman can own, and they understand that. They way they treated me earned them a customer for life. My fiance was impressed as well and we both said we will most likely return to purchase our wedding bands.

I went back into his shop on Monday and he explained what the coins were worth (at market rate). He was also very upfront and transparent on his fees (which ended up being around 10%). Everything seemed reasonable so I proceeded forward. He wrote me a check and kept the silver and the transaction was complete. It couldn't have been any easier. His shop was modern, clean and well organized. He was professional and polite through the entire process. In all a very positive experience and I recommend his service. Service was quick and efficient. I got a new battery placed in my watch and it costs $10 before tax. They also can adjust your watch band which I should have asked them to do for me.
