My daughter bought her first car there. We had so many problems with the car from the start. First the license plate bracket was broken. That took my daughter several trips out there to get fixed, then the sunroof broke that was another trip out there. There was also a chip in the windshield that had to fix that was another trip out there. The salesman Rodney was very rude did not even offer my daughter gas for having to make so many trips out there. I spoke with the manager he was very rude. In over all this was a very bad experience. unfortunately, we have a bad experience to buying a car at this dealership. we bought a car a few months ago that had a clean carfax , but I recently noticed that the car had a front end accident, I emailed to Vandergriff Acura several times and they said to take the car in for inspection, but they just wasted my time. we had trust them business but the seller was not reliable, because the car had an accident and they did not tell this fact. unfortunately , they are not even willing to compensate for their mistakes. I took my 2020 Acura ILX for servicing and detailing today. After spending almost $600 when I went to pay for the service using my credit card, I was told there would be a 3% charge to use my credit card. I have purchased 4 Acuras from Vandergriff and have used their service department for servicing my vehicles over the years. I have never been charged a 3% credit card fee. I was told this was something the started doing "about 3 years ago." This is the last time I purchase from or take my vehicle for servicing. I called Hiley Acura and was told they do not charge a 3% fee if you pay for your service with a credit card. In today's economic climate and the already extreme fees they charge for service and labor, 3% is an outrageous fee. I don't know that many people that have an extra $600 laying around to pay cash for this kind of service. Thank goodness I declined all the other services they wanted to do on my car today. That would have totaled about $1000 and an extra $30 to use my credit card. If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. Never again. Vandergriff, you have lost a loyal customer. read more

Took my car in to have radar aimed. Topped off my brake fluid before I went in and it was completely clean. They recommend I flush my brake fluid for $169 because it was dirty. And when I checked it, now it was black. I don't know how it completely changed while they had the car, but doesn't take a detective to figure out the scam. read more

I would not recommend this Acura dealership for service and I am looking forward to trying Fort Worth in hopes of better service. I've had my Acura for 7 years and have had my fair amount of Acura service. This place is disappointing. The service staff are pushy and don't feel trustworthy at all. I had to tell my agent several times that I was not interested in the additional services he was suggesting. Several times. He continued trying to convince me and even suggested I use their financing. It made me second-guess ANY service this place is recommending. This is the second time I've had this type of experience at this location. They take a long time, even if you have an appointment. BAIT AND SWITCH. I would give 0 stars if I could. The prices this dealer advertises online and on apps like Autotrader are not the actual prices for their cars. We came to in to look at a car and when they put an offer sheet in front of us they added $3000 in fees to the total that didn't include any tax, title, or licensing fees. It appears they add these fees on all of their cars. This is a typical bait and switch tactic where they know that the fees make the true prices of the cars they sell thousands of dollars higher than the prices advertised, but they advertise a lower price to get people in the door. I read another review that indicated this dealer tried to add $5000 in fees to their total. Buyers should probably expect this dealer to try to tack on thousands of dollars in extra fees to the advertised prices of their cars in addition to any tax, title, and licensing fees. read more

I bought a RDX here and it was about what I expected. With that said, DO YOUR HOMEWORK before going to any dealership. The only thing I will deduct them on is their paperwork. The dealership never did provide me with a fully executed and signed copy of my sales contract. But this was more my fault for letting them get away with it. It could have really bit me had things soured, but in this case there were no problems. I asked for and received a copy of the executed contract from Honda Financial Services about a month afterwards. My lesson learned is to never sign a contract until the dealer has already signed. So the one star ding is for sloppy paperwork which had the potential to screw me over in the right circumstances. But like I said earlier, do your homework. Pick your car out, preferably not at any dealerships. Read reviews, research the brand and model, look at reliability history -- Google is your friend! A good place to go are owner forums for the brand. There are four or five different ones for Acura. Talk to real owners. Good, got your car picked. Go to the company website now and build the exact model you want. This is easier for some brands than others. Print out the configuration making note of the list price and any special financing offers available. Check the new car inventory at all your local dealers and determine how close you will get to your build configuration. I had to compromise on my desired color and curse Acura for having such a limited pallet of color choices. Next go to Credit Karma and get your credit score. If you got about a 720 or better you can usually take advantage of manufacturer financing offers like from Honda Financial. Less than 700 you will be better off trying your local Credit Union. Last desperation choice is to take Bank financing offered by the dealership. You got your brand, model, options, list price, and credit score. Last step BEFORE you EVER step into the dealership is to go to the Credit Union Auto Smart site (www.cudlautosmart.com). Here you figure out what your trade-in is worth. The Auto Smart site provides access to Kelly Blue, NADA, and Black Book dealer used car values. Get all three and take the best. The dealer will offer the lowest or worse. Go to the new car section and figure out the dealer cost and average price paid. Now write your deal down. In my case I wanted an Acura RDX AWD Tech for $____.__ with the Acura special financing offer, with $___.__ additional down payment, and this $____.__ amount for my trade-in. E-mail that deal to all the local dealers. Talk to the first one that says they can work with that deal. Expect some minor quibbling when you get to the dealer but stick to your guns and WALK OUT if they try to monkey significantly with the deal. This dealership will want you to buy a vehicle anti-theft beacon. It's like Lo-Jack but a different brand. It actually is what the dealer will use to repossess the car if you don't make your payments and hell ya, let's get the customer to pay for it! I told them that I was a Libertarian and would walk out if they didn't outright remove that NSA spying device from the car. Hey, it's Texas so I didn't have to explain or even wear a tin foil hat! They said they took it out but they probably didn't, but I'm not paying for it! I suspect your success in getting it removed will depend upon your credit score among other things, but I'm a cynic in general. Your biggest issue invariably will be trade-in value but remember that no used car trade-in is priced at "Excellent" no matter if it really is in perfect condition. Use the Average condition value. Also remember that you need to give a fair profit to the dealer. You do not work for free and you shouldn't expect honest businesses to work for free either. If you walk into a dealer without doing your homework, you deserve to be ripped off. None of that BS that you do not know much about cars or you are a woman or whatever. The dealer will respect that you did your homework and will usually keep the double talk to a minimum. read more

Welcome I walked in with the sole intention of viewing the newly redesigned 2019 Acura RDX. I was immediately approached by Mr. Wade West. I told him the purpose of my visit and he asked me if I wanted a test drive. He was thorough as he explained all of the vehicle's features and engaged in a casual conversation. In the end, I was allowed to take the vehicle home with no hassle. Needless to say, I fell in love with it and only had to bring my husband back the next day to finalize details. Financing As long-term Honda and Acura owners, we were pleased with how smoothly the process went. As expected, there was a little back and forth, but nothing extreme or worthy of a complaint. In the end, and as requested, most of the details were worked out prior to our arrival at the dealership. Cons I did not like the process of signing the paperwork. I felt that it went on longer than it should have. Most of this can be attributed to the gentleman trying to get us to purchase extra protections, all of which we declined. In my experience, these cars are built to last and most of the problems come from normal wear and tear, which are not covered. Even saying this, the gentleman still kept us there while he attempted to convince us why we were being stupid (my words, not his) for declining. I was like, my TL has 120+ miles and is still going strong, so I'll take my chances. Summary Overall this was a pleasurable experience. Vandergriff Acura sold me an MDX that accelerates on it's own. I've brought this car back to the location several times to have it looked at and still no explanation. They have tweaked things like fluids but the problem persists. Today was the last straw when it accelerated without me on the gas and I had to break. Very scary experience especially since I had my kids in the car and kids live in the house right in front of where it happened. I immediately called the dealership and brought the car in. The sales team then tried to sell me a car with paint splattered across the back seat, a hole in the front seat, and two other subpar vehicles in addition to increasing my payment over $200. The GM was there but took a sharp turn when he saw me. What they should have done was offer to buy the car back for what it's worth instead of just paying off the existing amount and trying to make additional money off of my traumatic situation. BTW the car had done tiny accelerations before sitting in my driveway and I followed the same routine those times of having it setviced. The service department offered no fix or explanation citing they needed to experience the issue. I'm no mechanic, but safety should be the primary concern and it has not been. It's a boys club with absolute unprofessionalism and making a buck at the expense of someone's safety has been the precedent they've set. Do not buy from this place. I must also share that one of the sales people called asking me about the keys to a vehicle that they loaned to me maybe a week prior. I said I left them with the service department. Found out the vehicle had been stolen and they call me about the keys! The sales floor and service department talk badly of one another but they both lack communication and professionalism. There is no accountability and they waste customer's time by having you sit waiting on simple information as they fist bump, curse, drink sodas, and laugh together. I took my RLX in for an oil change and when it was complete they recommended several additional things like they always do. I declined and when I went to check the recommended items I found a couple of screws missing from my air cleaner box. This is the second time this has happened. When I called to complain about it surprisingly there are no managers to take your phone call (3 times during the day). So I emailed them and told them there were some parts left off my car from my service earlier today and got a response from Wade West "Sorry for the mishap". No other communication, no questions asking what was missing, no offer to make it right, no response to my follow up email. I was also told the price (stated on the invoice) and when they rang me up they charged my credit card more than the amount due. Terrible service. read more

The owner of all three of Vandergriff dealerships approached us and interrupted our test drive in a rude way and treated us like we new nothing and blamed us for the salesman not being present during that time. Here goes, I had bought my first Acura TSX at this location...loved it never had a problem only maintenance I ever need was an oil change and maybe one flush.... so of course I go in for a routine oil change and they sucker me in to get the luxury RLX w custom rims.... I was in love especially with the rims... And here we go, I purchased the 2014 RLX vehicle April 19, 2016... previous owner was a manager at Vandergriff slightly used... 3 months later my ac fan goes out... they said if it was wear and tare from the weather and not factory I would have to pay.... I just bought the car NO WAY I was coming out of pocket! Even w warranty!!! They fixed it... but I was Stern on not paying.... so a year later I need new tires and in between that have gotten my oil changed there.... so me and my guy dropped it off then picked it up before close... while still under the cover port at Vandergriff Acura, my guy said man they did a crappy job cleaning the rims I said don't care want to get out of here have lots to do.... we had gone out of town for a week when we got back my boyfriend dropped me off at work called me later said he went to whip one of the rims and the grim streaks wasn't coming off... I wasn't worried about it i was goin to call Vandergriff Acura the next day.... and I did! And they put it all on me that I had done this to my rims..... that I might have run through sprinkler system w chemicals.... how stupid is that.... I told the manager Peter that look at the surveillance cameras they show me pulling in and show me pulling out of the facility.... he said the video doesn't go back two weeks I find that hard to believe..... so I settled to pay at coast to get them fixed.... but was factory color not custom.... they were not up to my standards Especially that's what caught my eye in the first place where the rims!!!! I've never experienced anything but great service here. When I took my 2016 Acura in for service I was never upsold on anything. Obviously, if you are going to spend the money on a nice, premium vehicle you should expect the maintenance to be pricier than your average dealer. We bought a GMC Denali told us we can come here if anything was wrong with our vehicle it's supposed to have extended warranty I have spent more than $500 if only check engine light checks and they always said it's not cover by warranty to go to Chevrolet dealership. After 1/2 day on phone, they finally agreed to sell the car as advertised. We flew from Louisiana to Dallas to pick up the car to drive it back and the car presented for sale was not the car advertised. It did not have to correct accessory package and was not an all wheel drive (which was needed for snow driving). They abandoned us at the dealership with no way to get home. I brought in my RDX for a maintenance issue (the second time I brought it in for the same issue) and ended up being charged for the rental vehicle, after I was told by the manager that I would not be. Then, when I asked for a refund I was told I would only get half my money back. I kept calling and leaving unreturned messages and I still have not gotten any money back. I feel like this dealership took advantage of me because i'm a young woman, and that shouldn't happen when you buy a luxury car. When I called them again their response was they were unwilling to help. Not the type of people I will ever do business with again. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!! 6 months ago I bought a used car and it has been back in forth in their shop since. I've driven their loaner vehicle more than my own car. First problem was they let me buy it knowing it wouldn't even pass a state inspection!! There was an issue in the steering column, making it extremely dangerous to drive. I didn't notice when test driving, since they only let me go around on the side streets and not onto the highway or any busy roads. the horn didn't work, cruise control didn't work, nor did any other buttons on the steering wheel work. this is only just the beginning of all the issues that accumulated. eventually the entire engine needed to be replaced, which I was told was a brand new engine. I find out that it was a used engine with multiple spark plugs misfiring. Multiple issues arise including wires being fried, wires not being connected, oil leaking throughout the engine, causing pieces of metal to fly off and lock up the engine. I don't know much about cars, which is why I decided to purchase from a "reputable dealership" that I figured would have their customers best interest in mind. Clearly that is not the case. I feel 100% been scammed in this whole situation. I even tried to talk to the sales manager, not once but twice to trade out the vehicle. He was extremely condescending, rude and sexist not once but both times we spoke. he told me that I just needed to smile more. I highly doubt that a statement like that is something he would say if a man was sitting in front of him and not a young woman. this dealership is shady and sketchy, and I absolutely wouldn't recommend anyone ever doing business or purchasing a vehicle from Vandergriff Acura Arlington. I tried to trade in my vehicle for a another that cost less than the original one that I was having issues with and they still couldn't get my payments down to the same payment without making me upside down on my loan. I was told if I would have traded it in within 30 days it would've been an even fair trade, which I was also never informed about. I didn't even have the vehicle in my possession at the time because it had already been in their service department after having it for 2 weeks. They had it for almost 2 months the first time they tried to fix it. I've never written a bad review, but after 6 months, I have given the company plenty of time to make this right. they have proven profit is more important than their customers and their reputation. read more

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THEM!!! Incompetent Finance Department. Once you swipe your credit card, they will no longer help you. I was sadly duped into buying the after market maintenance programs with MPP for additional $1000+ on my TLX Lease, but when I would have my car serviced no one was able to find my agreement so I had to pay out of pocket. A year and half later, the Vandergriff Finance Director (whose writing skills were that of an 8th grader) realizes that they never got my signature and registered me for the service. I asked for a FULL refund for a service I was never able to use and they said I would be getting a credit on my final Acura Financial Statement once I turned in the car. They canceled my account that day and guess what, when I got my final buy from Acura Financial Service, there was no reimbursement or credit from MPP. I've tried reaching out to their finance department several times since then, even left the GM a message and they said because the Finance Director I originally worked with was no longer with Vandergriff, they would not be able to help me. I have emails to prove the incompetency of the entire Finance Department. OH - but they gave me the personal number of the previous Finance Director - like he would be able to do something after leaving. WHAT A JOKE!!! I'll be filing a complaint with the BBB. Our salesman is Dan - very nice guy. I started my search online, called Dan to have him approve our credit and headed to the store. Dan worked hard in getting what we wanted and I would probably give all five stars, but Ashley (in finance) became not so nice when we declined their special packages of different coverages (gap). One minute she was smiling and laughing at little jokes, the next minute there was zero eye contact and any small joke was completely ignored making the final process "awkward". I have purchased and serviced numerous cars in my lifetime and dealt with some pretty shady dealers and sales people. Vandergriff Acura is probably the second worst dealer I have ever tried to do business with. Do business with them at your own peril. Sometime ago after doing my research, I went there to purchase my new car. The salesman took us for a test drive. When we got back I had trouble backing the car I had never driven before into the narrow space between the other two brand new cars. The salesman ridiculed me for being so careful and insisted on parking it himself. (He could have just noted I was having some trouble and politely offered to help if I was taking too long for him.) After he made me write down my initial offer and looked at it, he literally laughed in my face. He said he would take it to his manager, but that there was no way he would take it. When he came back he did not give me a counter offer and told me that the manager had also laughed at my offer. Then in a very condescending tone he lectured me about car buying. (Again please realize that I had looked up pricing before I went in and knew how much my car was going for.) After being lectured by him for several minutes in a condescending tone, finally I told him that I was paying cash and that I had made a reasonable offer. His response? "Mr. Vandergriff doesn't need your money." Well, Mr. Vandergriff didn't get my money and he never ever will. We walked out and will never return. If Vandergriff hires such poor sales people, then it places serious doubt on the credibility of the rest of his business. I came into this place because I saw an ad online that showed only this dealership had almost a thousand dollars off on a vehicle I was looking at. I called inquiring and was transferred to some guy named Kenny... I drove there​ and when I got there it was obvious that they advertised the lower price from their competitors in an effort to be misleading just to get people into the door. Bottom line, he ended up trying to sell me an overinflated Acura RDX, with several hidden costs, and then when we talked about pricing I told him that their price was off, and he became agitated and rude with me. I went over to take pictures of the vehicle which when I got there the base price itself was almost $1k more than advertised. As I was taking pics, a guy named Patrick walked by and asked me what I was doing. I Told him that I was comparing the car with what they advertised and how it was a little misleading to a consumer, he then started arguing with me, "how is that misleading? I'm an educated consumer and I know that. I guess that's what being an educated consumer means." Kenny then told me that this Patrick was a "manager." Vandergriff Acura: Debating and insulting a customer is a surefire or getting them to never come back. For the record, I have a Doctorate and two Masters. I don't think I'm uneducated. However, I do value trust and integrity, which Vandergriff does not have and when I caught you on it you react by insulting me. I did end up buying an Acura at another dealership (Hiley) and it was a fabulous experience. They were friendly, respectful and courteous and did not haggle me one bit. And guess what? They got my business this time and will get me as a repeat customer several times over and I would highly recommend them any time over Vandergriff. A couple of people have already ridden​ in my car because they love my RDX. One lives in Arlington and the other in HEB, I told them both to skip Vandergriff and go to Hiley. Avoid this place because they are rude, lack customer service and more than anything, they are dishonest. read more
