was completely misled and taken advantage of by a finance manager at this dealership regarding the extended warranty for my vehicle. Despite my explicit request for a warranty that would run the full length of my 6 years of ownership, I was sold a warranty that started from the date of purchase and ended a year after the manufacturer's warranty would end. Given that I purchased a brand new vehicle with a factory warranty, it makes no financial sense for me to have purchased an extended warranty, and I would never have agreed to it if I had been told the truth. I feel completely betrayed and taken advantage of by this dealership. When I attempted to address the issue, I was met with dismissiveness and hostility from the finance manager. He refused to let me speak with higher management and tried to brush off the situation as if it was too late to do anything about it. This dealership needs to understand that their actions are unacceptable and have consequences. Under Texas law, the statute of limitations for fraud is 7 years, and they are still legally responsible for the fraudulent behavior of one of their employees. The fact that the finance manager who committed the fraud is no longer employed at the dealership does not absolve them of their responsibility. I demand that this dealership take responsibility for their actions and rectify this situation immediately. If they refuse to do so, I will take the necessary steps to escalate the matter and seek justice, including contacting General Motors, the Better Business Bureau, and the State Attorney General's Office. read more

Absolutely disgusted. I talked to Vandergriff for almost 2 weeks trying to make plan to come look at a vehicle. Keep in mind I'm coming from southeast texas. We discussed my car trade in and what I was expecting. The sales guy even said possibly more than what I was asking! This was after details, pictures and videos shared of my vehicle, Only to get there and them offer me 'Kelly Blue book'. AFTER I HAD IT IN WRITING THE AMOUNT DISCUSSED!!!! Once I told them I had in writing about trade in, an African American manager (forgot his name) kept going to the back to talk to 'appraiser'. Only for him to bring me back a Kelly Blue book print out. Which I am totally aware what KBB says! When I said what about the sales guy and y'all's appraiser telling me a completely different price ($12,000 more to be exact) before I drove here!!!! Only for y'all to offer me not even pay off!!! He said 'there was an error'. Error?! $12,000 off of the promised price and driving 500 miles is not an error!!! When I told them no I'm not okay with this. If you read the negative reviews and still make an appointment to test drive and negotiate a sale you best do all your homework. They will twist your head off one way and put it back on a different direction. The first phone contact explained to me there were no add-ons buying over the internet. When I sat down I was immediately told about the $3190 worth of add-ons that were NOT included in the advertised price. When I explained I was told there were no add-ons, immediately, the sales person says I need to go to my sales manager because I don't want you to have a bad experience. Okay, you can have them for $595. They didn't want to give me the $3000 in discounts the internet worksheet gave me and said one was a duplicate. NO, look at the drop-down menu, it's for the Turbomax engine. A call to GM confirmed I was right, $3k in discounts. The sales manager comes back, says my bad, with a very confusing worksheet that starts with an inflated number for the MSRP, minuses the $3k discounts. Tax was more, the document fee was more, and added the $595. Being able to add and subtract, I went over the numbers on the worksheet. $900 missing in the numbers.The taxes and document fee was an additional $184 between the two, and the $595 paint protection (eye roll here) charges. A total of $1679 increase. When I confronted him he says I can't give you that price with discounts. THEN tells me they are losing money because I have no trade so they needed to increase my finance rate another point from 5.9 to 6.99. Heck we hadn't even got that far yet. He was definitely not counting the 3% dealer holdback GM pays the dealers at the end of the year. Those dealer incentives and cash bonuses? GM pays those. That's money from GM, not the dealership. The real kicker in this scenario is the fact the sales manager scrambled the numbers instead of being upfront and straight forward about the fact he wasn't willing or able to do the deal. Got a letter in the mail for my steering wheel, called and told to bring my 2022 Tahoe in so they can verify the part needed. Did so, they ordered the part. Waited about a week for part to come in. I was called and told it came in and I had an appointment for Thursday August 31 at 11am. Today (August 30) I called to confirm the appointment and there is no record of it. I left 3 voicemails for my service advisor, Charlie Lewis, and still no one has contacted me( I called him 7 times throughout the day and automatically went to voicemail each time) They don't even have a record of the part being ordered or me coming in when I spoke to service office. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because their service dept is great, unlike sales didn't lie to me and always shot straight with me. 2 months ago I bought a used "certified"vehicle. I was only allowed to test drive it in the parking lot, as the sunroof didn't work properly. My fault for believing that was the reason. The vehicle was delivered to me at work, being told it was late because it was being detailed. When I took possession of the vehicle it had 13 miles to go until empty, salesman apologizes, and at this point I need to get back to work, and he leaves. About an hour later I head home, once I get it past the 20 mph mark it starts shuddering violently every 10 mile mark till about 50 mph. Being as they drove it from Arlington to Irving, there is no way they didn't know this was a problem!!! They straight up let me drive an hour home with it like this. I emailed the salesman as soon as I get home, explaining the problem and that I'll need a loaner car. "No problem, we'll get it all fixed".......3 days later "we're having problems getting a loaner for you.....it might help if you call the sales manager yourself". Called him and apparently what I'm asking for is unheard of, but he might have a solution. Waited a week never heard back from him, so I call again, make arrangements to be there first thing in the morning, so they can "see what's wrong". I get to service and after talking to 4 people, no one knows what I'm talking about, but if I come back a different day they can have it done in a day, oh and they don't even have a loaner program!!! But if I put my own credit card down, they'll pay for a rental. After a week and a half of borrowing a friends car the torque converter was replaced, but sunroof still isn't in so I have to take it back at a later date. Also I was having a problem getting it picked up, left a message for the sales manager, and was like "hey, let's make this right, can y'all deliver it to me, so that I'm not driving for 3 hours straight to get my car". Never heard back from him. 2 months later the car is completely fixed, and today I get a chance to really clean and detail (because even tho they said it was, believe me when I say it WASN'T) the middle console, imagine my surprise when I found marijuana residue. Went there specifically to get a truck that could pull my food trailer.Traded in my for sure hauler for a brand new truck that drags the ground now. Had the 2023 3 days and the check engine light came on. Took it in only to be told to come back. I come back a week later they were talking about keeping the truck 3 or 4 days. They seemed so concerned about my satisfaction of the vehicle once I let them know I wasn't satisfied and I needed a different truck the calls stopped. When at the shop I asked about what could be done because the truck sags to the ground. They were like oh go down the street they can help you. They sent me to an aftermarket place that voids the warranty of whatever parts I would have to put on the truck. But they don't even have an anything for my truck because it's new. They asked why didn't they sell you a 2500? I said the salesman assured me that the 1500 would pull it because it has a towing capacity of 11,000 lbs. My trailer is 8600lbs I'm new to this never owned a brand new car and my dream experience has turned into a nightmare. Double check everything if you decide to shop here. I can't really even work because I can't get my trailer out of my driveway without scraping the ground badly because of the sag. Not to mention I'm going to have to spend extra money to get the brand new truck up high enough to pull the trailer. Highly unsatisfied SO HERE IS AN UPDATE 10/11/23 Was called by the new car director, got asked a couple questions. He said he would look into it and get back with me. No follow up. I also find out the truck I have has no trailer brakes feature only the feature for the trailer lights. So this truck only has a 4 pin and 7 pin plug for lights. THATS IT. So now I have to add an electric trailer brake switch and suspension parts so that the truck and trailer doesn't bottom out. The only options I have with the truck being so new is a 1000 airbag kit which if I would have had the z71 or trailboss package I wouldn't need none of this stuff. I been doing research on YouTube. VANDERGRIFF CHEVROLET ARLINGTON (VCA) - "Res ipsa loquitur" - Learn From My Experience - Earlier this year I purchased a used automobile from VCA. I'd been watching the ads and the internet for a specific, hard-to-find vehicle and VCA listed one on the internet! I ordered the CarFax and the car was clean. So, the next day I made an appointment to see and drive the vehicle at 10am - I'm excited to find this one! I was at the showroom on time at 10am and met the salesman - a nice young fellow who I'd spoken with earlier to make my appointment. He looked outside and the vehicle was nowhere to be seen? (I thought it would be right front-ready to go, but no.) Initially, he was unable to locate the car. This seemed strange since I had called ahead, but never mind, the car was found in the back shop still being detailed. 30 minutes later we're ready to go. I drove the car for 15-30 minutes on the streets of Arlington as I was not allowed to enter the Interstate (20, I think), the dealership did not permit it. The car drove like a dream, and it was just what I would have ordered if I had ordered it new. The salesman asked if I was interested in proceeding with a look at the numbers - I said Yes! I sat in the cubicle for a few minutes waiting for the numbers guy who turned out to be the used car service manager - i.e., Cotton (C). C gets out the numbers sheet from the internet advertisement and first thing, adds $2000+ to the listed internet price! Oh no you don't, that's VCA's expense, not mine! C says, no it's for the make ready they had to do to get the car ready to sell. Like what? Well, had to change the oil and filter (mandatory per TX law?), it was steering to the left so VCA had to realign it, and the brake rotors needed turning - so it's $2000+. I wanted the car, so I swallowed hard (it was just what I wanted, and it was priced a bit below what I had seen on other cars on the internet), and we proceeded. C offered a service contract for ~$6500 extra which he said I could purchase from the finance manager. The finance manager processed the documents expeditiously and offered the service contract for $5000 which I accepted. Salesman reappears, we shake hands and I'm ready to pay and pickup the car tomorrow. I requested a copy of the make-ready service invoice so I can see what brand of oil is used for future additions - salesman says ok. I go to VCA the next day and pick up the car - only one set of keys - they say that's all they received from the owner? Driving home is a dream. I began to review all of the documents that I'd been given including the service invoice. The service invoice (SI) says they changed the oil and put in GM Dex-?. The car manufacturer specifies Mobil 1. VCA says it's just as good as - they use it on all new GM products - so it's ok. Next, I'm looking for the alignment - but there is nothing on the SI about the alignment. (VCA did not do one.) OK, an oversight. Next, I look for the brake-rotor-turning entry. No rotor turning on the SI. The rotors are polished tungsten carbide coated - not to be turned, and so hard as to be impossible to turn! So, basically, I got a $2000+ oil change! Weeks pass and I'm trying to figure out how to adjust the seats and radio buttons. The Owner's Manual explains this - only there is no Owner's Manual, they did not get one. I ended up buying a second key and an Owner's Manual for an additional ~$900 - but the car is just what I wanted. This has been quite an eye-opening experience dealing with VCA! H. S. Oops! I forgot to mention. A few weeks later, I located the prior owner and asked him about the car, etc. He told me that he provided VCA with two keys and an Owner's Manual. Oh, and by-the-way, the car had more than $20,000 in undisclosed front end damage repairs performed by the local manufacturer's dealer. The End! read more

She did her homework and had the web page saved, the truck's stock number, and ... then it begins. The "it" I am referring to it the degrading posturing and strange sleazy dance the all car dealerships do. I am not sure why car dealerships have to have such sucky whiny humiliating cultures. Worst business atmospheres in the great USA with maybe only American Airlines competing for the loudest unhappy sucking noise in the room. The salesman starts this unbecoming speech about how the first offer is to be ignored. I counter with skip the bullshit and go right to the advertised price. I made it clear I detest game playing and that we ARE WILLING TO PAY THE ADVERTISED PRICE! So, here my blood pressure starts rising. He also carefully instructs us on how he is paid, which is $50 total for this sale. Not sure why he felt the need to share that with us. Awkward and unnecessary. The deal was designed to move a specific vehicle for a set price, a Colorado truck for $21,166. That was their advertised price. Their first 'offer' was for almost $26k, the MSRP. ?? Why have a large full internet page showing the price you are selling a specific vehicle for, the price we are willing to pay, and then start "negotiating" with us? Makes zero sense and my blood starts boiling! So I clearly state for the second time that I abhor the back and forth nature of this. Just sell me the dang car for the advertised price and I will be happy. *sigh* The second offer comes back for $23k. Let's see, advertised price is $21k, two "offers" now well over their own listed price. What am I missing people!!!! I told the salesman to not come back unless he is going to sell us the freaking truck for the freaking listed price! I was clearly hot. So on the third offer, he says this is their final offer:$21,166! OH MY FREAKING GOSH, they are going to stop with their "final offer" of THEIR OWN ADVERTISED PRICE! Scum. Slime. The salesman instructs us that anything less than a perfect rating on the pending survey will result in him not receiving the $50 payment. He shares how he is a family man with kids and a wife to feed and one rating less than perfect, even a comment like the bathrooms being dirty, will cause him to loose the money on the sale. I came in and just wanted to ask for a starting point on an issue with my braking system. Service advisor Cody and Sam both told me it's 168.00. I asked if maybe there was a tech bulletin or a tech that could confirm that it was an issue. They told me it was 168.00 and they would not help without me paying the diag fee. I normally get my vehicle serviced with the dealer, but my experience so far with this dealership is quite unique. I have never experienced being charged twice for a diagnosis on any vehicle, at any dealership. Further, this is the first experience having my car dealer serviced without being provided a loaner. Moreover, while the dealer is diagnosing the vehicle I was told the battery on the car was no longer good and had to be replaced prior to any further diagnosis being completed. This happened right after I did my due diligence checking the battery myself. And so, I really feel like I just paid for a battery that did not need to be replaced. All to which gives me a bad feeling. I can't quite put my finger on identifying the issue, but I do not get the feeling as though I'm being taken care of at all! And for me that's what it's all about. This is certainly a lesson learned. I will be finding a different Chevy dealer to take care of my vehicles needs. And after reading other reviews, I see I am not alone in this experience. And this is disheartening having this organization wear the Name Chevy. It's unfortunate I'd seen a Lincoln at the dealership. When I called I stated that I was approved for $19k from my credit union and wanted to make sure it's possible to get the price $1200 less then advertised price. I had walked in to buy a brand new car 4 yrs ago and didn't know that this was the same dealership tried to charge me wrong price then advertised price. Plus three in additional $6800 on top of that. I ended up walking out of the dealership for thinking customers are studio and basically scamming and the used car pre oen manages name was Ben. Today Reggie after driving 48 miles after confirming stating we do not move from internet prices. After speaking to different associates and confirming where I'm coming from, then stating you will have more power when you're in the dealership then why would a sales manger tell me we do not lower or change prices. Reggie tells me, I didn't but I did speak to his staff and feather them playing games and dragging customers to the dealership with multiple disabilities be upfront and honest with me. This is the second time, this has happened to me. This is the mail reason why Pre-own cars have a bad reputation. I'm surprised they have 4.6 stars when these folks are selfish and play games with someone with disabilities. Terrible Reggie and your prideful attitude. read more

Bought a Ram 1500. Decent truck and pleasant sales experience. Drove off and stopped for a snack. Realized there was no key fob. Let salesperson know. Went to a local dealer Monday to get a fob. Quote to get one was $372. When I asked for help with cost (I only asked for half as I didn't catch it), I was told sold as is. Explains why they kept the key in the ignition the whole time. Shady people. Also found buffed out scratches after car wash. Do not recommend trusting their used car department. Also should be noted they advertise one price and charge another for "reconditioning fees". Totally shady practice. read more

ALL BUYERS WHO HAVE BOUGHT NEW 2022 VEHICLES OR IF YOURE THINKING ANOUT GETTING A NEE CAR HERE DONT. we bought our 2022 blazer rs here and loved the car. Here is where things took a turn. The car has heated and ventilated seats that is what we bought right? NOPE. We wanted to use the seat warmers during the winter storm and to our surprise they don't turn on. I proceed to text my sales person who failed to tell us that due to the chip shortage the car doesn't have those chips. This is a month after the fact we bought the car. Not once we're we reached out to to be made aware of this. She proceeds to tell me that we will be reached out to when the chips come in. Months pass no one has contacted us nor do I have a response from my sales person. We then decide to call the dealership today just to be told the same thing but now they are making customers aware that due to the chip shortage WAIVERS HAVE TO BE SIGNED. Not once did anyone reach out to use to make us aware that there was chips missing in the new car we bought. Lisha Park the sales manager was no help and decided to argue with me over the phone. Some manager named Reggie Carter answered the phone very rude and denied me corporates number. Long story short this place is a scam the managers don't have a resolution other than you have to wait. read more

Do not trust any of the sales or service employees! Please read all the way through! On jun 4th of this year, I purchased a used( $ 72,000 ) GMC 2500 from Vandergriff. The salesman was my best friend from high school. Who ended up quitting a couple of months later. Because this dealership does not care about the customer!!!! When I showed up to the dealership and test drive the truck I fell in love with it. The only thing wrong with the truck was that the electric running step bracket(only 250 bucks) was broken from the previous owner. The salesman, service managers promised me that they would get the step fixed for me. I did the worst thing possible and didn't get it in writing. One month went by and nobody called me to inform me that the parts were in. (Not body even knew there was a problem) 2months went buy, I had enough and went up to the dealership. A kind service lady got the ball rolling. 3 months go buy and the part they ordered came in. So I got the head sales manager involved. (Edwin Rivera) . After a phone conversation with him I knew that I was in for it. He talked down to me, offering to put crappy running boards on my truck that they had in there shop. And Told me I would have to pay for the new part. So I drove up there to confront this "sales manager." He showed me the running boards he was offering to put on my new truck and it was the most degrading I've ever felt. Then proved to say that if I can do better at finding this part then I should go buy it and they'll put it on for free. I walked off grabbed the part they ordered, and showed them that the SKU NUMBERS THEY ORDERED DIDNT MATCH. But hey they gave me a free oil change (by the way I bought the most expensive vehicle service contract, so oil changes are free.)was 2 months ago. This is now month going on month 5 since I was promised this simple fix. Now they are not doing anything to help at all. The manager isn't even capeable enough to send a picture of the part they ordered to me. I'm a 25yr old that got taken full advantage of on a very expensive truck. And I wish I could give it back. From start to finish they have screwed me over. I put no money down and gave them a trade in and. They even added 2,000 to the sticker price of the truck just so I'd be able to afford the monthly payments with a crazy interest rate. The least they could do is fix what they promise. If I could do a minus star I would. This dealership is very dishonest and does a bait and switch by not honoring their online price when you get there in person. I would not recommend shopping here Just to update my review. I'm sad to say I did email the person who responded to this review however I am still waiting to hear back from him. Service department is so bad I will never buy another car here. I had a diagnostic issue appear on my dash and called to schedule an appt for them to fix it. The service manager told me that he can't schedule any appts - I would have to leave my car there from anywhere from 7-10 days until they could get to it! My car is drivable So why would I leave my car to just sit on their lot for over a week when it's not getting worked on? I asked if they could put me on a list and call me when they get a few customers ahead of me. NOPE. I'm going to a mechanic that cares about their customers which certainly IS NOT VANDERGRIFF CHEVROLET. They only care about making the sale, not about taking care of customers afterwards. read more

I should check this Yelp page with full of truth similar experiences before buy car from you guys. Totally dissatisfied with the whole car buying accept the finance department. We came to buy a used car. It was the right model we wanted but it had a dent on the side of the passenger front door. First, the seller lied to us by saying the dent on the side of our car will be not even noticed once it got touched up! He tried sooooo hard to sell and promised that once we buy and pay some extra fee for them to fix: "You wouldn't even noticed it is there", that was his promise. We bought the car because it was the one we wanted and because of his promise. They kept the car 2-3 days to touch up the dent. I came back later pick up and the first thing I saw was THE DENT WAS STILL VISIBLE! Loosing trust big time!!!!! However, he was not there that day. The manager said there was NO WAY to make the dent become normal if we don't replace that front part. We were like WTH your employee promised us this and it was a lie. We couldn't do anything. He could not do anything. Next, I came back some days later because the paint needed time to dry for free interior car wash. I left the car there for them to wash. They called me 3 hours later said the car was ready. I came inside it was still dirty, nothing was done!!!!! WTH why you called me then!!! Not even responsible to double check before calling customer. Then I had to wait for another 45 minutes. I was so done with you guys!!!! Today, my key fob did not work. Not battery reason! I did not want to come back ever to your dealership. I came to the different Subaru dealership and had a second opinion. I found out the second key we paid from your guys was not authentic Subaru. FIY we paid to make a second copy of the key. Like WTH is that!!! If you guys don't value people buying used cars then don't even try to sell used cars. Losing trust big time. I never recommend any of my friends go here for used cars. read more

Update: I got everything taken care of. Johnathan and Mr. Pace ensured that I got exactly what I needed this time. I'm not going to remove the previous review because it's important to know that we can come back from things like this. My car was completely serviced, which is what is most important. All of the beautiful ladies in the customer service area were awesome as always!! I would return, for sure. It's always good to go in for scheduled maintenance and leave with only an oil change. Especially after you spoke with Dusty, who is the Service Drive Manager, and ensures you that, "If you need ANYTHING," don't hesitate to let me know. The patriarchy of it all is REAL.... I called this service dept on Wednesday to schedule maintenance for 9am on Thursday. The call with Johnathan went well, so I expected the same for my experience. Unfortunately this was NOT the case. I sat in my car a good 5 minutes before even being addressed. Once I was addressed, I was blown off when I SHOWED the young man the NAMES of the individual that I spoke to as well as the name of the person who would take care of me. So I sat.....and sat...... I decide to get out of the car and look for the person who I was supposed to speak to. I'm in a BRIGHT, YELLOW hoodie. This person WALKS RIGHT BY ME. Not even a, "be with you in a minute." I walk to his space, open the door, and let him know that I'll wait inside for him "not to be so busy," to speak with me. I waited....and waited..... OHHHH!!!! What a feeling to have SEVERAL employees look YOU RIGHT IN THE EYE, and look away!!!! OHHHHH!!!!! The employees appear to be angry at one another. The tension is THICK, and they make sure you SEE, HEAR, and FEEL it..... So, after waiting, I decide to get up and go BACK OUTSIDE IN MY YELLOW HOODIE, to possibly EVEN GET ASKED WHAT I NEED!!! WHILE MY CAR IS PARKED ALL THE WAY INSIDE IN FRONT OF THE SERVICE PROVIDERS' WINDOWS!!!! IM LITERALLY STANDING THERE LOOKING AT PEOPLE WALK PAST MY CAR, asking each other who it belongs to, while looking at ME AND LOOKING AWAY!!! So I walk to Johnathan's office to inform him of what has transpired, as he took my appointment for a SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE appointment, that's important. I didn't ask for a manager, but of course they sent Dusty, Service Drive Manager, to make sure I get the best service possible.....I'm fine with it, just get the car done, and manage your dept, Sir, because it's awful. SO WHY DID I LEAVE WITH ONLY A FRE OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION???????? I DID NOT ASK FOR ANYTHING FREE!!! I ASKED FOR MY CAR TO RECEIVE SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE...... So....I call Friday and explain this to the person who answers. She was not pleasant and I did not receive a call al art from anyone. I call just now, and Dusty, "We can get you taken care of!" He's really chipper!!! SIR, I TOOK OFF OF MY JOB TO COME IN. I WILL HAVE TO TAKE OFF AGAIN. YOU GET TO BE CHIPPER BECAUSE YOU ARE AT WORK.... I saw ONE woman in the service dept. Any other woman I saw was answering phones. I do not believe that if I went with a man, or had a man actually take my car that this would have been the case. It's disappointing. My car wasn't important. The lack of professionalism provided to me was not important. My time isn't important, it appears. Do better. Women drive their own cars these days, Sir(s). read more
