This place is a sleeper and not to be missed. It is so good! We've come here at least 6 times since first discovering it. You can tell it's a local favorite when you dine here because of how busy the restaurant gets and all the foot traffic for takeout. There's not a bad thing on the menu. Our favorite is the pad Thai. It's the best pad Thai I've had anywhere. I'm not sure how "authentic" it is for those crazy Yelpers, but in terms of taste, presentation and the plentifulness of green onions it's the best in my book. Here's what we've tried: Pad Thai 5/5 Pad see ew 4/5 Pumpkin curry 5/5 Tom Kha 4/5 Tom yum 4/5 Garlic prawns 5/5 Mango curry 4/5 Larb salad 5/5 Eggplant basil with tofu 5/5 Lime tea 4/5 Thai tea 5/5

Food was very filling and great flavors! Gladly able to come back again to the other items they have to offer!

lunch combo: YELLOW CURRY and PAD THAI

we came on a friday shortly after opening and was seated immediately. interior was clean, sunny, and nicely decorated, with nice photos on the walls. service was okay, server was nice but i felt my requests (to-go box/restroom location) felt like i was inconvencing them. i really liked how unique their lunch combo was, as i've never seen pad thai or satay available at any other restaurant before. salad dressing was refreshing and tart. the yellow curry had the perfect amount of spice (for someone who has a very low spice tolerance). the pad thai had much thinner noodles from what i'm used to, but had such good flavor. the shrimps were large and were an extra $2 ON TOP of the provided tofu. for $17 i think it was an excellent deal, with a good amount of food that left me at a good level of fullness.

This spot is so cute and I love the authentic Thai flavors. My favorite go to dishes are the Tom ka, the yellow chicken curry and the fried yams. The fried yams have a thick tempura style batter and are served with the most delicious peanut sauce. I also love the pad Thai and the green curry when I'm feeling spicy. The service is always great and welcoming. This is the best place to get Thai in the sunset!

Another delicious meal at our local treasure I just had a rough day with medical appointed was in a bad mood Fortunately, it occurred to me Vanida Thai is open Mondays and I treated myself to dinner ( take out so I could eat in my pjs!) Tom kha with tofu, pumpkin curry and Thai iced tea. So good!! Instant happiness while I waited in their comfortable dining room ( far too empty) with photos on the wall and clean tables ready to serve A family run establishment with great service Please go support our neighborhood restaurant and enjoy their yummy food

Stumbled on this Thai restaurant 9 years ago and I'm glad they're still in business. We love their lunch specials at Vanida Thai and they're even available on the weekends. D2 chose the chicken satay and the garlic pork. I had the eggplant with pork and pad thai. Not shown the option for salad or small soup. I had the soup and she had the salad. Very attentive and wildly popular spot for locals. The restaurant itself isn't very big. I honestly should come more often.

I would think that by now this restaurant is successful enough that they could finally offer takeout or open up an additional larger location given their brands success.

I was in SF one afternoon and decided to kill an hour by waiting in their line. I showed up at 3.10 PM and there was no line, I stood anyway and later the line built up behind me. Place is not the safest, I saw some folks trying to open the parked cars on that street hoping to find one that was unlocked . Not all folks who made it before their 4 PM opening managed to get a table in the first round. The place only seats around 20 people or so and they have a mandatory requirement that each person has to order a bowl of ramen. We got the following *enoki chips: 3/5: salty, limp, greasy to the point of floating in a pool of oil. *vegan tantanmen-2.5/5- disappointed by this one. Had better vegan ramen at several other establishments. The version here has two dominant flavors- extremely smoky and bitter. The kale didn't help as well. The enoki chashu was interesting though, had the texture of meat. *classic toripaitan-4.5/5- this was good and I can see why it got the awards. Had a rich and deep taste of chicken. All the elements helped elevate the bowl. *spicy lamb miso cumin-4/5- the flavors of cumin and lamb just shone through here. If you enjoy the flavor of lamb get this. The fried eggplant was epic in this dish. Overall, not worth the wait, the vegan ramen can be avoided unless you are a vegan. Get the classic toripaitan as that was the best.

I've been to plenty of Japanese/Ramen spots and I've been running into the issue where I say I have a soy allegry and there is an assumption that I have a gluten issue (I do not have a gluten issue). I noticed yelp said they have soy-free options and thus called on Friday thinking it might be a bad idea as they're usually busy.. It was defintely hard for the person to hear a bit when they picked up. The staff did relay something about gluten free noodles.. It was just so good and flavorful. The soup dumplings were amazing. So much perfect flavor. They held together until the bite. So good. The hot and sour soup was plenty tasty. Not the best I've ever had but certainly among the best. The only thing I will say is that one of my companions can't have seaweed. The wonton soup was amazing but full of seaweed. It wasn't listed on the menu and we have never had seaweed in any other wonton soup so didn't know to ask if it could be left out. That was sad. Once we got seated, they were pretty prompt to give us utensils, napkins, cups, and water. The two of us shared the Braise Beef Galbi Stew. It's more than enough for 2 people to go home in food comas (with some food remaining) and for 3 to be sufficiently full. If you have big eaters, order an app alongside if you have 3 people. The Galbi stew was exceptional. I liked that they had various levels of spiciness. We went with spicy and it had a nice kick that elevated the dish for me. The beef was very tender and flavorful and the veggies and rice cakes soaked up all the juices. And the cheese was so stretchy! I'd actually rank this place slightly above Daeho given the shorter wait, the quality, and the price. I'll be back for sure.
