Lovely decor, tasty food, great service, and adorable deserts! I would totally recommend !

vanilla cafe is a beautiful and unique spot in northeast philly for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. it's casual but upscale enough that it can be a really nice date or fun/nice brunch with friends. the food here is delicious, the wait staff is very courteous, and the pastries are some of the best i've ever had not to mention the most beautiful. a highlight of tonight's dinner was the mango passionfruit tea, which was amazing. my only complaint is that it is a bit pricey here, but for the quality, it is to be expected.

We decided to try somewhere new (for two out of three of us) and were happy we did. A cute place with very nice and friendly staff. I decided on the steak sandwich and can see why they give you gloves - very juicy and hot. It was tasty and a unique twist on a steak sandwich in the steak sandwich capital of the world :0) My sister enjoyed her beef stroganoff, as well. My niece liked her turkey panini, but we all agreed it was more of a sandwich than a panini - it wasn't pressed nor heated. My sister also enjoyed her mushroom soup. Although, it would be nice if a smaller version would be offered. The truffle fries were tasty but could include a larger portion for the price, but tasty nonetheless. We shared a pot of strawberry whipped cream tea - very tasty and loved the presentation. My niece had a latte that she enjoyed, as well. I look forward to going back in the future to try their brunch menu. In the area, Check Them Out!

Our second time back in a short amount of time because we were in the area and another restaurant and decided to come here for coffee and dessert and glad we did. It's great when the staff remembers you and knows what you like. We were totally blown away by the Customerservice this evening. Our coffees were terrific as was the tiramisu.

Came here for breakfast with a friend and it was fantastic! We came right around when they opened and it was the perfect time. We started seeing more people fill in around 10-10:30. Our waitress was so attentive and sweet. The decor is very charming. The food came relatively fast. We got the vanilla breakfast and Benedict to share and both enjoyed the meals. It was light but filling. The smoked salmon was so good. I also got a matcha drink that was yummy. The desserts and the pastries was delicious!! We both got a mango pastry that was beautifully made! Hands down would come back!

We absolutely loved our lunch today! What a pretty little place with every table filled throughout our stay. The owner introduced herself to us, and we had a nice chat. She also owns Ginger, a nearby restaurant, which we will definitely try. We chose to drink water served in a lovely bottle with fresh mint and poured into footed glasses. We decided on the avocado salad and a veggie omelet to share. It was the perfect combination! Fresh arugula with smoked salmon, tomatoes, and avocado plated with the avocado shell as if the salad was tumbling from the shell. It was so fresh and delicious! The veggie omelet was absolutely delicious, but I can't describe why and how this was different than most omelets. It just was! Desserts are fabulous, and the owner helped us choose. I had a Mikado cake and my friend had a vanilla mouse filled with mango. Delicious! She took home an entire box of desserts for her family. Vanilla isn't cheap, but the love and care that goes into every dish were apparent & I'm fine with the price when things are made so well. The staff and customers are predominately Ukranian or Russian speakers as was the clientele, but everyone spoke English very well...no problem. Hats off to Vanilla and to Anna, one of the pastry chefs. Job well done!

Found this place by accident just yelping for coffee in the area of the Philadelphia mills shopping center. So glad we found it. Delicious aesthetically pleasing desserts in a slightly fancy but still casual environment. They have regular food too which I didn't try but it smelled and looked good. Will definitely be back if I am in the area.

I already highly recommend breakfast/brunch at Vanilla Cafe but my oh my was I surprised at dinner yesterday. My husband and I started by sharing an avocado salad that was absolutely divine. An absolute must try. I ordered the Shrimp Orzo and my husband had the Beef Stroganoff - and both were so well made. It tasted very fresh and just yummy. Finally I ordered a fruit tart and my husband a cheesecake for dessert. The cheesecake was a little bit better in my opinion. The fruit tart was good but the crust was too thick which made it hard to break and eat, other than that it was still good but I probably wouldn't order it again. Everything else I highly recommend. The service as typical was very good and helpful. The ambiance at Vanilla Cafe is impeccable. They really do take details into account and it makes all the difference. Such a gem of a place.

The desserts are by far the best around! I got the crunchy fruit pastries and they were delicious!!!! I always tell everyone about this place and how good it is. I got the pastries from A la mousse in center city and they were terrible! Vanilla cafe has the best!! 10/10 recommendat

A friend told me this was a charming place for breakfast and she was right!! I adore this place. Such nice staff really welcoming vibe. My brekkie was dainty and the decor was so instagram worthy. All the pastries looked like artwork! We took cues from Gerald and got the sausage link set and I took the waitresses recommended waffle. Lovely to support a MoM & Pop business! (^^) Good food!

Food: The tea was presented in a beautiful glass tea pot on a matching tray with tea candle to keep it warm. The veggie omelette with mushroom sauce was fresh and delicious. A bit overpriced. Service: it's a very small cafe. There's one server who was very pleasant and happy. Ambience: If you're Eastern European or Russian you probably won't get the strange looks I received from patrons soon as I walked in. The decor is going for affluent garden cafe. The seats are comfy, the flatware was gold colored and heavy. A YouTube playlist of Enrique Iglesias and current rnb videos streamed on a large tv.

The inside is really modern and aesthetic, while still giving off a cozy cafe feel. Service was nothing crazy, but nothing bad either. The Yemenite Latte was a 4/10 for me. The flavor was spot on and tasted like milk with Yemeni spices and just a hint of espresso. I really wish the espresso came through more because I think that would've made it perfect. The Pistachio Sticky Bun was an 8/10 and definitely worth the hype. It was served warm and had the soft, pillowy texture of a cinnamon roll, but with a syrupy pistachio flavor. It practically melts in your mouth. The Grilled Cheese Jerusalem Bagel was basically a grilled cheese, but I loved the thin, slightly crisp shell and all the sesame seeds on the bagel. The cheese had almost a pimento cheese flavor, which I really liked. 9/10.

Our server Rachel was lovely and gave us a rundown of their specials and the menu's top hits. Our drink selections ranged from as boring as a Diet Coke to as fun as a seasonal lemonade. We were all content with our choices, though we puttered around making suggestions from their large drink menu. I typically go for a savory breakfast, but the stuffed brioche French toast was speaking to me. I can never turn down banana! The rest of our table ordered avocado toast (x2) and fried eggs with bacon. Everyone was really happy with their choices and an added bonus was that our food came out quickly. I insisted everyone at our table try a bite of my massive stuffed brioche French toast and the consensus was that it was ridiculously good. Though this spot is tiny, it is not to be missed.

Luckily, we found street parking right next to the restaurant, which was a nice surprise. When we arrived, the wait for a table of three was about 45 minutes. That's somewhat expected for a popular brunch spot on a weekend. Once seated, the service was prompt. Our waiter stopped by quickly with waters and took good care of us throughout the meal. I ordered the House Angus Burger with sweet potato fries. It was solid, flavorful, and definitely filling. My friend got the Bella Vista Omelet with home fries, and we both agreed that while the food was good, it felt like standard brunch fare rather than anything particularly memorable. Based on the long wait and the hype surrounding Sabrina's, I think we were expecting the food to really stand out. In my opinion, the dishes we tried were comparable to what you'd find at a quality chain brunch spot like First Watch. That's not necessarily a bad thing, the food was satisfying, but it didn't quite justify the lengthy wait. That said, the menu has plenty of more unique and creative options that we didn't try. I'd be open to coming back and ordering one of those specialty dishes next time. Overall, I left satisfied with the meal and service.

I made a reservation online on OpenTable. We arrived earlier than our reservation slot so we were able to walk around and take pics. Unfortunately on the night we went it was super cloudy and had been raining so the views weren't nearly as good as they could have been. There's a grand staircase that walks down into an even bigger and more open area. Up first, was a $9 hot chocolate and a $23 Bluecoat (Dirty Martini with blue cheese olives). The martini was perfect, exactly how I like it with tiny slivers of ice shards. Second, I had a $30 Gold Espresso Martini with vodka. It was also perfect. Probably the prettiest espresso martini I've ever been served. The leaf design in your drink is pretty sweet. Tons of dates here, anniversaries, vacationers, and people super dressed up. Most certainly look your best if you decide to come. Next time I'm in Philly, I'll certainly be back!
