Review of Coconut Key Lime Tart, Apple Almond Croissant, Iced Cappuccino. Cappuccino tasted like a typical cappuccino; it was good. Apple Almond Croissant was tasty in flavor but subpar in texture for an almond croissant. Coconut Key Lime tart was refreshing and perfectly executed. Total is $22. 16oz cappuccino was reasonable priced or at least matches the average market price. Pastries were very pricey but we felt the coconut Key Lime tart was very well executed and more worth.

Came here after a little walk in the park on a Sunday! Very easy to walk and order a pastry or two. There is a big case inside to see all the yummy options. Very elegant inside. Service was quick and efficient. I ordered a chocolate croissant and a spinach feta pastry. A sweet and a salty went perfect together! The perfect flakiness. Very happy to stop in!

Had about a 2 hour wait for a table at our dinner spot and we found these guys right across the street so naturally we had to check them out. Cute French Patisserie serving up creative and fancy desserts and pastries. They had a nice selection to choose from and it was so hard to decide. I went with the Royal and the Manjari (per recommendation). Both were rich and decadent and I'm glad I gave them both a shot. The cheesecake had a nice balance of sweet and tartness from the fruits. The cheesecake itself wasn't overly dense or airy so that was a plus. They also have a little private room where you can fit a small group as well. I didn't ask but they had something in there that looked like a high tea setup so maybe that's an option. Had we been in town another day I wouldn't be opposed to to going back and trying more stuff.

I'm a big fan of Vanille and usually their baked items are fantastic, however this time I was disappointed by the macaroons. They tasted a bit stale and the flavor wasn't the best. The chocolate cookie on the other hand was great! The interior is beautifully decorated and the staff is very friendly.

Very cute place with tasty desserts. We got the Royal, Sophia and Cheesecake. The service is very friendly and the decor is very inviting and comfortable with light instrumental music playing in the background. Prices weren't bad. The Royal was delicious but very rich, there's no way I can eat that whole thing in one sitting. The Sophia was light and creamy and was my favorite. The cheesecake was delicious as well.

I've had pastries from Vanille a few times, but I recently stopped in and enjoyed sitting for a while with a friend, catching up over pastries and espresso. Super cute decor and design. There are about 5 or 6 small tables for 2, and then there is a small room with a table for about 8. Lots of pastries ranging from brownies to tarts and other delicate creations in between (very yummy macaroons). I very much enjoyed the passion fruit tart. After having several other this summer from french pastry shops in New York and California, Vanille's passion fruit tart was my favorite!

Tiny cafe in Lincoln Park with great pastry and coffee options. The staff is friendly and clarifies every doubt you have. I tried a chocolate and a fruit pastry. The freshness of the fruits were preserved hence my favorite. I did not like the flavored tea so I would suggest get coffee instead.

Such a cute local french bakery! We came across Vanille while on our way to the zoo and were instantly mesmerized by how pretty everything was. The staff were very nice & helpful too. They recommended the tiramisu which was beautiful. It wasn't too sweet, but did come through with good espresso + cream flavor. Their macarons were a bit grainy and not too chewy. Everything was a bit expensive, but considering how you're supporting a local business that clearly puts care into their pastries, it's worth it.

Taste the delicacy of the French patisserie right in the comfort of your own city, without having to travel thousands of miles. Each treat is hand crafted at this beautifully established cafe, and treat yourself or a loved one to truly something special. Ordered a 9" fruit tart for my mother's birthday, 48 hours in advance, absolutely gorgeous. Fresh fruit was used with some extra add ons to give it a glamorous and seductive appeal, and the flavors were absolutely delicious. Pretty to look at but even better to taste!

best well ket secret in Chicago! Buy your frozen croissants for a Romantic Sunday Morning or a family week-end. You are going to be loved!

From the moment your fork glides through its caramel glaze, Vanille Patisserie's Ambre cake promises a symphony of sophisticated flavors and textures. Each bite is a multi-layered gem, an edible poem of caramel and hazelnut. A mesmerizing exterior, a treasure within Its surface, a mirror-like sheet of glistening amber, hints at the treasure concealed inside. A delicate caramel mousseline lies beneath, a light and ethereal cloud that melts on the tongue, its sweetness balanced perfectly. A delicate crunch, a vibrant burst. The sensual experience is tantalizing. The luxurious, velvety texture is interrupted by a satisfying unexpected surprise: a crunchy layer of milk chocolate hazelnut praline. Its delicate, satisfying snap awakens the senses before dissolving into the rich nuttiness of toasted hazelnuts and smooth chocolate. A buttery finale, a touch of citrus. soo complex like a great handcrafted wine. Adding a final, artful twist, a whisper of lemon-scented madeleine offers a bright, citrusy counterpoint, preventing the dessert from becoming too rich. The entire creation rests upon a base of crisp coconut streusel, providing a final, buttery crunch and a subtle tropical note. With each bite, Vanille Patisserie's Ambre cake offers a tantalizing experience: a graceful dance between smooth and crunchy, sweet and tart, all in one stunning package. Even my friends who do not like desert were amazed. This is my favorite desert in the world. A very gourmande & gourmet French Lady that knows about this pastry since its inception.

The green and white color palette immediately reminded me of Ralph's Coffee. It felt classic and polished but still charming. Everyone working there had a smile on their face, and the warmth felt so genuine and comforting, especially first thing in the morning. They had such a huge selection of pastries and cakes that it was honestly hard to choose. I ended up getting the cake shaped like a cherry because it looked so interesting. It was a black cherry cake and I paired it with a cappuccino. It was the perfect combination. The cake was beautiful and tasted just as good as it looked. We also ordered the breakfast burrito, which came with a small side salad. It was fine, but not the standout for me. If I came back, which I would, I would probably stick to the pastries and coffee and try more of their baked goods instead. Service was amazing. The ambience was adorable. I loved how all the silverware, plating, and dinnerware matched that perfect green tone. Every detail felt intentional. It was just perfect.

The food was really excellent, as was the service. But it was ridiculously priced. The reuben sandwich was $28. It was a great sandwich, very lean, but you could get a sandwich as good for half the cost elsewhere. They only have a couple of kid's items, but my friend requested buttered noodles for her kid rather than the cheesy noodles. I got the hibiscus drink and lavender lemonade, both non-alcoholic, and they were very good. My little one especially liked the hibiscus. And we ordered the appetizer of whipped ricotta and honey; my daughter liked this more than anything else we ordered. We didn't have dessert at the restaurant, but ordered to go. The pot of gold was really good. There were little "gold nuggets" on it and that was my daughter's favorite part; good thing since I didn't realize it had a layer with Bailey's in it. It was very rich, and the cauldron was really thick chocolate (and actually was a struggle to get into, a bit!). The restaurant is small but it didn't feel crowded. We never felt rushed or unwelcome, and we were there for a couple hours (longer than I realized; it took an unusually long time to make two reuben sandwiches). Their pastries are really nice but somewhat expensive, like the rest of the menu. It was a nice, sophisticated experience.

However, for a neighborhood dessert shop, these were as close to macaron perfection as can reasonably be expected. What I'm referring to is the crust/shell. If I'm correct, a textbook-perfect macaron shell is firm yet as delicate as a frozen soap bubble, with a much softer dough underneath. With these, I felt as though a hair (and I'm not exaggerating) of the firmness transferred from the shell to the dough. Again, I grant grace due to the inherent difficulty of perfecting this delicate pastry. Where these macarons truly shine, and do so more than any I've had previously, is their filling. I was able to try a salted caramel and a coffee. Both of these had very distinct flavors, not simply a generic sweetness with hints of something. I could have immediately identified these flavors, even if you hadn't told me what they were. While it was later in the evening and not busy, I still want to give points to the friendly and personable individual working behind the counter. Thus, while perhaps not a cross-town destination, Andersonville's Macaron Bar delivers products that can perfectly satisfy a sweet craving.
