I took my car to Juan for analysis on my transmission. I had read online that some of the Nissan Muranos have had CVD transmission issues. I make sure I have all preventative maintenance on my car. I left my car for Juan to take it for a test drive expecting the usual diagnostic tool but instead he left with a TouchPad device. The TouchPad device detected issues & showed the error codes with my transmission. Juan updated me that the transmission would need to be replaced with a transmission from Nissan dealer. Juan then called the extended warranty company, faxed them the computer diagnostic findings & had everything authorized in record time. There was a 2 - 3 week back order on the transmission, I took the car back home & as soon as the transmission came in Juan called me to bring the car in. Juan explained the process & timeline which he met as discussed. Juan had me bring my car back in a week later to check everything. I am happy to say that my car drives like when I bought her & I am so relieved that I found Juan at J & J Auto in Union City! I've been driving Audis for over 30 years. I used to fix my own Audis until I get older and Audis are more complex, I bring them to dealers. Never used any independent Service Shop. My Audi A8L had a defective design with the water pump that failed after 80k miles. Audi did not do it for free so the cost at dealership was $4200 for the complete job. I was fed up and found this place by google. I got a quote from Daniel and he seemed to know what's needed to be replaced for this problem. The estimate came with all the parts listed although he missed an important part that cause CEL came right after the job was done and I was charged 1 hr labor of $210 which should be included in the main job. Anyhow, the place is small, only a few lift bays for cars, the shop needs to park excess cars at some parking lot, at least mine was parked in the shop the whole time. Aturo is the person who's actually did the work, he seems to be knowledgable about cars and know how to use all the diagnostic equipments to find faults and the skill to replace parts for the car. Everyone seems to be nice and pleasant. Did it save me much from the dealer I had it at, not really, I finally paid close to $4000 for the job. The labor cost here is $210/hr and dealer is $310/hr but for some reasons parts here seems to be more expensive hence the cost came out almost the same. BTW, they automatically charge extra 3% onto the bill which you can save this 3% by using debit card instead of credit card. It's nice that they have all the parts saved for you to look at or take them home. The turbo solenoid failed with a new part, had to bring it back to get a different one, at least I didn't get charged for it LOL. At least with the dealer, they would check to make sure it works and have another one ready so I don't have to come back again. It's farther for me to drive here than Audi of Fremont, so if the price is not much different, I would just bring the car to Audi of Fremont and get free car wash instead. Yes, they did do a good job for fixing the water pump. Yes, I would bring it again for maintenance or something easy. Next time they should put the turbo solenoid in the package so they don't have to charge labor again because looking at the part, I could replace it in 10 minutes and not $210/hr.

I got a call from my insurance company the other day and he is refusing to cooperate, he doesn't want to file a claim with his insurance company, he told the insurance company he would reach out to me on his own and I still have not heard from him. He also did something that I would say is trying to deflect the situation to someone else's fault, he filed a claim with KIA on my behalf. The way I figured he could've told me about when I went to see him and then say hey you can do this with KIA.

I asked if I can come in ASAP and the guy I was talking to, I believe his name is Hasib, said to drop by anytime. I came by after work, Friday 4:30PM. I settled on getting one of their already-rebuilt transmissions installed, as long as I give them the current beat-up one that was already on my car, I said yes of course because what will I do with a bad transmission sitting in my garage lol My car was ready Sunday afternoon, ready to go to work for Monday. I've only driven it today, and there is a night and day difference, it feels like a new car! No more slipping accompanied with the screeching grinding...thank god. I've already recommended these to the people at work who have heard how my car used to sound, downside is they only work on Honda's currently, but they did mention once they start growing they will expand into other brands of cars. I called a few places and the estimate given to me is costing more than the value of my car. I found Pristine Transmission on Craigslist. I spoke to the owner over the phone twice and I visited the shop twice. I was able to meet the owner on my second visit. His name is Rasul. Every review that I read has his name wrong. Rasul explained to me why Honda/Acura transmission would fail after certain mileage. He actually had a few transmissions sitting on the work bench and he explained to me how he rebuilds transmission. I am 100% sold at that time. When I picked up my car, Rasul told me that he replaced one of the engine mount because he noticed the one near the back was crack. He also attempt to rotate the tires but found out all four tires where the inner edge is peeling and advised me to take them back to the tire shop. There is no cost to me for the extra work. I waited two weeks before writing this review. Just want to say - thank you.
