Ordered lunch for pick up today. Two sandwiches, one being pork and the other a Cuban. Ready when I got there, delicious to eat. We decided it was the best lunch sandwiches and really enjoyed them. Another great job from Vargas Cafe.

So glad to have the original back. Went with the Cuban and Maduro. All very good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The picked up the adjacent store front so there is much more room to eat in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Although it does limit you on making new friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Good restaurant, food and service. Tacos were average, nothing special. Cuban pulled pork sandwich and empanadas are excellent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is a small mom and pop lunch joint.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Cuban sandwich, roasted pork burrito and cortadito.

Been fans of Vargas for several years now. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have expanded their seating area which was definitely needed![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Serving is aways quick and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cleanliness spot-on![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Got ham croquettes (not pictured), roasted pork burrito, Cuban sandwich and cortadito. All of were winners. I keep coming back for my Cuban sandwich though-they are crave-worthy!

A small mom & pop typeCuban/Mexican cafe , not far from a lot of the cruise ship hotels. We walked from the Hampton Inn in about 20 minutes. We had a sándwich Cubano and some croquetes. Both were excellent!! Made to order, fresh and hot. Excellent, friendly service, and very reasonable prices.

Vargas Café, 8010 North Atlantic Avenue, Cape Canaveral, FL -0.5-Star Add the Mexican owners of the Vargas Café to the Ananias Club. I don't want to come out and use the dirty little word "liar," but the sign in their window shouts, "HOME OF FLORIDA'S GREATEST CUBAN SANDWICH," which is quite a mighty boast considering all the authentic Cuban-owned restaurants we have in Florida--especially in Miami and Tampa--and the fact that there are zero Cubans preparing and serving food at this Cape Canaveral tourist trap. I might be a Gringo, but I know that Cuban and Mexican food have "nada que ver" with one another. Truth be told, I cannot personally tell you how the Cuban sandwiches here taste because get this: THEY WERE OUT OF CUBAN SANDWICHES! I mean, come on! To be out of your sole signature dish? There was one sandwich left and I got to see it served. I could say it looked like every other Cuban sandwich, but to be honest it didn't look particularly impressive. I've seen better. You might ask, "Hey, Big Boy, what if the Cuban sandwich at the Vargas Café does taste really good, and you just missed out?" Doubtful. Not if it is anything like what I did order off the menu. Ya tu sabes. Since I couldn't try the Cubano, I chose the Pan Con Chorizo. This sandwich was basic, nothing special. The chorizo itself was frozen reheat and the cheese was junk. I also got the Bistec de Pollo, which was not seasoned correctly. The chicken itself was rubbery and overcooked and the garlic was burned instead of sautéed. No bueno. What was worse than the poorly prepared faux fare was the fact that the place smelled like five-day-no-shower-homeless-guy-armpit. Qué fula. At least I can say that our server, Andrea, was fantastic, although she wasn't from Cuba either. The Big Boy says, "There are a half dozen good to excellent Cuban restaurants in Brevard. Vargas Café is not one of them. Skip it!"

One of my favorite Cuban restaurants ever and by far one of the best restaurants in the Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral area.

There is plenty of seating and three huge bars. The service here is amazing. While the restaurant is very busy the servers are working very hard to keep things moving. You can see them all walking at high speed and even carrying 5 plates at a time. Very impressive. The salsa was really good with the fresh warm chips. For our entrees we had the Taco Tuesday deal. Three tacos for $9!!! I got carnitas and my husband got beef. They are a good size. Our kids got the chicken tenders and fries. Glad they had something different for kids that don't understand how amazing Mexican food is. For our drinks we got the traditional margaritas and the mix was so good. To finish things off we had to try the fried Icecream and it was enough for 4 people. Our kids tapped out because they were full. Really simple but yummy. Overall with the service, food and ambiance the restaurant is 10/10 for us. We can't wait to return.

The service was really good. We ordered and the food came pretty fast. Unfortunately the server asked if we wanted sour cream and guacamole. We said yes. She did not say there would be a charge for these items. I don't mind paying but I would like to know. I ordered the chicken fajitas. It was odd that the chicken was in chunks and not slices. My sizzling plater was so hot that some of the food was black and charred. Other than that that the flavor was good. One of my friends ordered the fish of the day, which was so overcooked it was unpleasant. By far not gourmet, They had a good crowd of regular locals at the bar, where they seemed to be having a great time.

Eventually, a man walked by and said he'd be with us shortly. Five minutes later, he returned we asked if we could be seated outside with a smile he said yes. He was pleasant. We waited outside for about 10 minutes until someone came to take our order. I'm not sure if they were shorthanded or what the deal was, but it was a lot of waiting to not be very busy inside, but we were hungry and wanted to try the food so we gave them a chance. Our waitress was nice. My mother ordered a vegetable burrito. My daughter ordered a cheese quesadilla. My cousin ordered a chicken and beef taco and I ordered vegetable quesadilla. We also had rice, black beans, chips, and salsa, queso, and guacamole . The food came out hot. I had no complaints at all on the food. Everything was delicious. The cheese was a little runny, but it didn't matter because it was so good. I will definitely be back to that location. I might try sitting at the bar. It looked pretty inviting from the front door. We all had a great time.

We arrive at 8 pm (not busy at all). Find out they have NO taco Tuesday special...okay moving on. Service was super slow and inattentive (like got more chips but salsa was empty). I got the veggie quesadillas but added beef. Our food arrives 45 minutes later! So at 8:45 I get my quesadilla with no beef and literally no cheese to speak off. (See photo). I basically paid $15 for two tortilla shells with a bunch of pepper and onions. Honestly, I usually compliment restaurants as I know they work hard but this place was ridiculous. Nothing was done to correct the experience and I left paying for all our meals like I'd have scored better at Taco Bell. I will definitely never go back. Too bad for them too as I now live nearby and tend to eat Mexican food often. Or maybe they don't care. Not one thing about the experience felt like they were happy to have customers. I'd have given it a 1 star but we did eat our food as we were literally starving.
