Every slice.
Myk F.

Made us sit wait outside after their opening hours while others were served inside. Zero pleasantries or even kindness. "What do you want?" "Here you go". And then pretty poor pizza. Had the Pako and the basil was the only flavor you could pick out on every third slice. Then it was just plain soggy in the middle. Couldn't pick it up without the toppings sliding off. I've had pizza in Naples and they would be disappointed with this.

This is the best pizza. Ingredients are so fresh, the crust. The meatball appetizer is also delicious. Enjoyed a glass of wine on the patio and it was very peaceful and relaxing. Once of my favorite spots in Atlanta and have to stop everytime I am in town.

Barely cooked pizza, ick.

Despite being disappointed with our pies in the last six months, we decided to give Varuni's one more chance, since it is super close. We specifically told the server that we had problems with a soggy middle of pies and we wanted our pie cooked well done, extra crunchy. Their first delivery, we did not get off the tray, it was a soupy mess. My friend explained our request and they made another pie. Even more of a soup soggy mess. Disgusted, I wanted to leave, but my friend got a box. When we got it home, I had my air fryer on 450 and cooked that pie more than 10 minutes before the crust was cook through. I know they've had a great reputation, but this was unacceptable.

First and last time ordering from here. I ordered a pizza to go. I have blonde curly hair. It pulled out a black split end piece of Hair from my mouth mid bite. I threw up afterwards. Traumatized.

We had another great meal here. This time we had the Paku and a margarita add cherry tomato, carmelized onion and mushroom. We had tiramisu (of course) and a pistachio cake thingy with a bottle of Vicus Irpinia "Falanghina"

Arugula Salad

I was craving Neapolitan style pizza so I hopped on UberEats as well as consulted Yelp, and started looking for a place. Immediately, I was drawn to a pizza that ordinarily may not have caught my eye, in comparison to others I usually am drawn to like a Margherita or something with mushrooms and/or truffle. It sounded delicious though, and the reviews were promising. I ordered the Bastardo--Mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes, pepperoni, Nduja (spicy spreadable pork sausage in ragu sauce), Pecorino romano, and basil. For my appetizer, I went with the Arugula Salad--Wild arugula, shaved Pecorino, lemon infused olive oil from Sorrento and fresh lemon juice. For an almost $30 pizza, the portion is very small. It seems like they cut small slices to try to disguise the fact that you're not getting much product. Regardless, it tasted delicious. While not very spicy, it was flavorful and satisfying. I warmed it up in my air fryer, which maintained the integrity of the pizza! Onto the Arugula salad--it is $12. This makes sense with Varuni Napoli's price range, but when you think about the fact that you're essentially just getting a bunch of arugula with shaved cheese, a lemon wedge, and lemon infused olive oil, it seems pricier than what it's worth. To be fair, I must also take into account that I ordered takeout. If I had dined in with an ambiance and service to enjoy, I'm sure I would've seen the price as fair enough. With that said, I would love to try more of Varuni's dishes! Most likely, I will choose to dine in instead to make the cost more worth it. I look forward to bringing my boyfriend with me and sharing wine and several pizzas!

Still after almost 10 years Varuni is hands down our favorite pizza in Atlanta...both Midtown and KSM locations. Our visit this weekend was to the original Midtown location and it was tops. Wasn't too crowded when we got there but it was pretty packed when we departed. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and it arrived hanging over the plate and chock full of perfectly cooked cup pepperonis. One would think they were in Naples when eating this pie. Nothing like US pizzas. Totally fresh and made to order and cooked in a wood oven. It had the great char around the edges. We scarfed it up and left happy Service as always was great. Highly recommend.

Loved the pizza here. The crust had a nice crunch while still being soft inside. The sauce was flavorful, not too sweet or too acidic. The toppings were fresh, and everything was cooked perfectly. Service was quick, and the atmosphere was great for a casual meal.

This place was great! After an experience next door we crashed here and was NOT disappointed. We were greeted and reviewed the menu. Ordered the eggplant parmesan, meatballs, pizza and wine. We sat at the bar in front of the wood fire ovens. Got to watch our meals being prepared and had the most pleasant conversation with the pizza makers. The meatballs were FIRE! They were amazing, wonderful combo of meats and hand made...AMAZING. The pizza was also just the best pizza I have had in a long time. They finish with actual Italian olive oil which took the experience to another level. Then oh whoa almost forgot about their dessert. We ordered the pistachio cake and tiramisu. WOW, the dessert was simply beautiful and perfect amount of sweetness. Everything was fresh and amazing. All the employees there were wonderful welcoming and kind. Such a great place! Will be back for sure!!

No flavor, basic, white pizza ... yuck!

Visited as a family to try a new pizza place in Atlanta. Kids got OVERPRICED calzones We had an OVERPRICED pizza The calzones were not good! ... we were told "no substitutions, we could omit items and not add items - sounds premade, taste pre-made. The pizza, ordered the white pizza, was flavorless. You would expect a buttery garlic base for traditional white pizza ... nope! The pizza had no flavor. Overall, will not return. Feel we wasted $60 on tasteless food and a rude staff. The pizza "freshly cooked" was put in 7 minutes ... seemed reheated. The calzone had toppings on top? ... definitely not traditional or tasty. The location is nice, but the staff a d overpriced food will keep us away Stay Away. !!!!!

Pretty and yummy pizza for the holidays!!

Great pizza, service and atmosphere; but mostly, Scott at the bar! He always hooks us up with amazing service and great pizza with a smile!

In my quest for pizza in Atlanta, this was my next stop. I tried the oro bianco, mozzarella sticks, and the pistachio cheesecake. Everything was great but not extraordinary. As a cheesecake hater, theirs did not have a lot of the traditional cheesecake texture/taste which I appreciated. I'll have to try a red pie the next time.

Pizza is great. I just think for the size you get it's overpriced. Flavor and crust is outstanding though.

The only available slot was from 6:30-8:00, and as long as we arrived on time, they'd seat us. We got there around 6:45 and had already looked over the menu on the way, so as soon as we sat down, we placed our entire order. The ambiance and decor were very nice and chill. It was a little loud, but we could still hear each other comfortably. We started with the sangria flight -- fruity and delicious. Our first appetizer was the papas bravas, crispy with just the right amount of spice. We also had the beef empanadas with chimichurri sauce, which were excellent. Next were the steak skewers, seasoned to perfection (though I do wish they offered a choice of cooking temperature). The octopus was my favorite -- char-grilled, tender, and full of flavor. We also tried the mac and cheese. It came out a little loose at first, but after sitting for a bit, it had a nice bite, especially with the chorizo. We finished with the shrimp in garlic butter and crostinis -- flavorful, garlicky, and one of our favorites of the night. Overall, this is one of the best tapas spots we've had in or around Atlanta. It's definitely our new favorite -- even over some of the local favorites in Decatur.

We had a reservation for dinner and the young lady who initially met us, did not even ask us this. She greeted us with, "we have an event going on, so seating is tight." OK - Well I have reservation. That seemed to help her find us a table. When she sat us, she handed us one menu for my wife and I. No wine list, (at a wine market) and no introduction. After 5-6 minutes, our server came out and said hello, but did not bring water or the wine list still. But, she did inform us again about the event going on. WE know restaurants are busy on weekends and even more so in the holiday season, but the constant reminders of "The event" does two things, one the servers are creating an excuse to say, you are going to receive slow service, and two, it felt like, how dare we show up during an event night. Finally on our servers 2nd visit, we were able to receive a second menu and the wine list. We ordered the 6 piece charcuterie and two glasses of wine. The server who made the charcuterie board, was very pleasant and proud of her creation, and rightfully so, the board was beautiful and delicious. We enjoyed our wine choice and decided to buy a bottle, our server, had zero wine experience. She did not present the bottle to me, (I have the wrong bottles brought out on a few occasions, and this is just a common courtesy) she uncorked the bottle, did not present the cork, she poured from the bottle into glasses that already had wine, granted we ordered the same wine, but at a wine market with a big event, maybe two new glasses should have been brought out, just in case. Then after she poured our glasses, she DROPPED the cork on the floor, picks it up and sticks in our bottle. Do your servers do that with silverware? Then she began to walk away with our bottle, I asked her to please leave the bottle on the table. She was seemed like that was an odd request. Overall, if we could give half stars, I would say 3.5 for the review, it was saved by your charcuterie server, as well as the taste and quality of the meats and cheeses, as well as the wonderful selection of wines. We will be back and hopefully, you take these comments constructively, and have your servers trained up a little more to be assets to your establishment.
