Sam is great! An awesome and honest mechanic l. I'm glad I met him. First he changed the AC compressor in my 2105 Mazda 6 Touring and after that it's arctic cold even during hot days in the AV! He also did a thorough check on my 2013 Certified User 4Runner Lmtd before I bought it and now I had him changed the brakes(squeaked) now it's great again. was looking for a quality mechanic to help me out with some maintenance on my vehicles and was driving by and decided to come into VAS for 2 separate jobs, i met Sam and explained to him the first thing i needed done was a synthetic oil change on a 2016 Toyota Prius, they set me up and got me ready to go within an hour. came back a few hours later for a major brake job needed on my 2016 Lexus NX, all brakes were shot and the car was not able to be on the road, i didn't realize that the brakes in the Lexus were electric so the repair process would take longer but Sam did his best to finish all pads in almost under 2 HOURS! I took my 2016 VW Jetta here a year ago for an oil change. Vas Auto Repair gave me the best price I've ever seen for a full synthetic oil change. I took my car back for another oil change the other day and they alerted me to the fact that my rear brakes were shot (but that my front brakes had 60% left in them). They gave me a perfectly reasonable price for the brakes as well, and when I came back to the shop they personally showed me how to look at the brakes to tell for myself when they need to be replaced. I came here to get my car checked out because my check engine light turned on. I went to someone else before I came here and the guy seemed like he did not know what he was doing and wanted to straight rip me off. Thank god for V.A.S auto. I brought in my car and the guy checked my car with their car scanning device and he advised me that its only a small fix somewhere around 80 bucks. The other guy wanted to charge me $800 to fix my issue. This is my go to place from now on. You need to be very careful these days especially when it comes to a mechanic. Topped off my fluids and was brought over to see that two of my belts were getting a little worn- not once did I feel pressure to have them replaced on the spot. This whole strip has a bunch of hole-in-the-wall car repair shops. Which one do you choose? Well, taking to Yelp, I have just came back from getting an oil change. Nobody put prices on here - $32 after it's all said and done. The yelp deal (as you probably know) will not work if you only get an oil change. This shouldn't surprise anyone though, as most places aren't making money off a $30 oil change anyway. I probably waited 30-45 minutes, and that was even with somebody in front of me. The guy at the desk where you pay was personable and didn't come across as the typical "I AM MECHANIC YOU KNOW NOTHING" sort. Some of the other places I saw $50 for an oil change. Really? I felt compelled to write a RAVE REVIEW for this awesome place because they REALLY deserve it!! I was referred to this shop from a coworker whose family have entrusted all their cars with Sam over the years. I had initially visited American Tire Depot due to a check engine light that had come on. My truck is a 2003 but has been very well maintained. American Tire Depot did a diagnostic test (which I later learned was just a scan and not a complete inspection). After only about 10-15 minutes I was given a long laundry list of things to replace and was given the shocking total of a whopping $1,047.00 in labor and repairs!! I felt something was amiss and by my friend's recommendation came by to see Sam at VAS. Sam ran a REAL diagnostic test and inspected my truck thoroughly for a couple hours. His findings were FAR less expensive and he even found one thing American Tire Depot missed. The result cost me less than HALF the cost i was quoted from American Tire Depot. In addition, Sam gave me some good advice about what type of gas and oil I should use going forward. As a woman in a auto repair shop, I always have a sense I am being taken advantage of due to my ignorance, however, Sam explained everything to me in a way I could understand. I found this place on Yelp and decided to give them a try. Mike was super friendly and honest. Since I don't know cars, I asked Mike to do an overall inspection. I am very glad he did. My oil change was due and of course I completely forgot about it. My A/C filer had never been changed nor was my air intake filter. Which would explain why my car was guzzling so much gas. The ride is smoother and when I turn on my A/C the car does not slow down anymore, plus I breathe in filtered air.
