To start, I'm a single mom so to me having a mechanic you can actually trust is soooo important. Parents in general, we have our kids and we have to make sure our cars are in good hands. This shop was so amazing, I worked with Ara and Alex and they were both so professional and kind. They assessed the car, did the work quickly and shot straight with me. No big promises and no fear mongering, no heavy upsetting unnecessary things. They didn't use language I didn't understand, they just let me know my options. My car is done for and they assessed it thoroughly, if they had not looked it over, I could have gotten stuck on the road or on a freeway. I can't express how grateful I am, really. If you're in a pinch and need an honest mechanic, you definitely should see the folks at Nick's! I drove through a huge pocket of standing water during tropical storm Hilary's arrival in LA and started having a watery grinding noise for the last 10 minutes of travel I had left. The next day the noise had improved some, but fearing for my engine, found Nick's auto shop as it was close by, well reviewed, and they did not disappoint! A look under the hood, a quick test drive to recreate the noise, a plastic trim and a few stabilizing bolts to the plastic skirt under my wheel well, and my car is running just like it used to! I was in and out in under half an hour at low cost to my wallet, and cannot thank them enough for their expertise, kindness and honesty throughout the process! At another auto shop this small repair could have been blown out of proportion; and being fem-bodied and less informed about common vehicle sounds, snags and fixes, I know I have to be on my toes during a trip to the mechanic. But being at Nick's and getting taken care of by their team was an absolute breath of fresh air. They were so open and easy going about finding out what was wrong, didn't upsell anything at all, and I got to drive out of there feeling confident about the repair and have a newfound sense of trust in a mechanic. Found Nick's on Yelp because my usual mechanic couldn't see me the day I needed to make a visit. I took my car in because I am planning a drive from LA to Austin TX and wanted to make sure my car could make it. When you arrive at the destination, nick's is a shop on the left side of the complex full of other shops. It took me a minute to figure out so I hope that advice serves others well! I had 2 tires replaced, brand new, then a valve in my engine replaced, and a series of checks completed for about $300 total. Fairly priced, they saw me quick, they were honest and friendly. I didn't feel like I was taken advantage of which is why I go to the same mechanic I always do, but now, nick's is my go-to spot that I recommend to all of my friends. I've been fortunate to have some great mechanics over the years, but Nicks Auto Complete Repair is the best experience I've ever had. I found the shop today on Yelp after learning my former mechanic's shop was no longer in business. I dropped my car off at Nicks a little past noon to replace the a/c / alternator belt that broke yesterday and the power steering belt. They have the best prices I've ever encountered and I had my car back in a few short hours, just after 4pm. Nick and his son Ara are so kind and gracious. Nick explained everything clearly and they even knocked $2.00 off the price (which was already unbeatably-low!). Bonus points for the shop being just a half a mile from where I live. The good: 1. Wasn't too far from home. 2. Uhhhhhhh The bad: 1. Terrible communication. Not a single phone call to update us on status, or to let us know when the car was ready to pick up. 2. They didn't find anything. The ugly: 1. The explanation for why my cars battery keeps dying was that with these new cars they have to be driven every day in order to keep the battery charged! 2. After I picked up the car the passenger window control mysteriously wasn't working from the drivers side. Nicks explanation was that it was a coincidence. Oh please. The outcome: 1. When I got home I googled my car model and the window problem. There were YouTube videos on how to fix it. It had to do with the dead battery. we reset it per the instructions online and it works like a charm now. 2. The next day my husband googled about the battery repeatedly dying and found videos on how to remove an electrical component that ran the Bluetooth. My husband disconnected it and no dead battery. Moral of the story? Google and YouTube were more helpful than Nick. read more

Ara (Nicks son) is great. I have a 2001 Toyota Corolla that I am running into the ground. :) It's such a great, reliable car that I'm just fixing the few repairs it needs and trying to get it to 200k miles. I went to Nick's Auto and Electric because I had two issues that 2 other auto repair shops either they didn't know how to fix the problem or they were too expensive. The electric problems were 1) driver's side power window was only working intermittently and 2) the left side of my dashboard had gone dark over time. In addition, my driver's side interior door handle was also busted. Between that and the window not working, I can tell you to it was a blast trying to get out of the car. Ara said he could fix all three for $200 which seemed lower than the other estimates I had received verbally. I didn't do a thorough search to get comparable estimates, but I seem to recall someone telling me that replacing the window motor alone could be up to $200. Even though I didn't bring the car in until after Noon on the day he was going to do it, he still managed to get it done by about 4 pm, which is impressive because he always has a load of cars there for repairs, and only one assistant that I could tell. He had to order the door handle part, but he had it the very next day and did the repair while I waited--only about 15 mins! My door handle, window and dash all work perfectly now. Ara is easy to work with, has very fair prices, is super reliable, and is fast! I wouldn't consider going anywhere else if I have future auto issues. Highly recommend! read more

Do not be fooled by the clutter of cars....this is the best mechanic I have EVER had! Nick is extremely nice and super honest. He is that rare mechanic that you find who simply loves working on cars. Not to mention Nick has the best prices you will ever find. True story, I have a 94 Honda Accord. It's a piece....but it's my piece! haha. I had gone 6 years without a working A/C because 3 different mechanics told me it would cost at least $700+ to fix. Something about replacing the compressor and blah blah blah. I dropped off my car to get an oil change at Nicks and mentioned in passing how my A/C doesn't work. He said, "Well let me just take a look and see what I can do." He called me later saying, "Your compressor works perfectly. Your unit is just extremely dirty and needs to be cleaned out. I will do everything for $100....that ok?" I thought he was messing with me. It's been a year now and my A/C works as if it were brand new!!! I will come back here exclusively from now on! Nick had a personal recommendation from a friend so I went to him instead of the guy I went to a few years ago who I also liked. But the process was so easy, super fast, and efficient. Being a women can be intimidating in car places where it's common to be taken advantage of, but I felt completely at ease. I need 2 new front axles and new front breaks but he was very upfront and honest telling me the axles could wait. I didn't feel like he pressured me to do it again or anything. Which was nice. I decided to just do the breaks to soften the financial blow, but I could have even afforded to do both! It took less than an hour even though he estimated over an hour. They even put a nice foot mat in the car to keep the floor clean. Not that it would matter because my car is like Kansas after the earthquake. read more

I'll start by saying that Nick answered my questions thoroughly and didn't charge me anything -- but he also didn't *really* fix the problem I was having with my check engine light and essentially told me that the issue isn't a big deal, so it's fine to drive with the light on. Well, okay. That's good... but I'm still REALLY uncomfortable having the check engine light on and would rather pay you to fix something. I think our personalities clashed, too. Last May I bought a '93 Ford Ranger for 700 bucks. 69 more easy installments and I'll own it outright. Just kidding. The truck had a bazillion miles on it, but was in pretty good shape, all things considered. The guy I bought it from told me about Nick, said he's used him ever since he got the truck back a few years ago. I have to say, Nick is the reason why this vehicle is still running. Whether you need an oil change, a flush of the radiator, or a new clutch, Nick does does excellent work. And HE'S HONEST. And his prices are more than fair. Nick works on all kinds of automobiles. Someone I know routinely brings his Lexus in. He's a hard worker with old world charm. They've always treated me with the upmost kindness and caring nature, sometimes as customers we can be in a bad mood but that never reflects back on Nicks auto. Nick is a genuinely good guy that fixes any problem quickly and inexpensively. He found replacement parts for a 30 yr old Porsche in a day when the actual Porsche dealer took 6 weeks.
