The staff at this Vasa are very nice and friendly. It is very spacious and there is lot of different equipment. My issues with this location are the cleanliness and that the equipment is always broken. There has been a blood streak across the wall in one of the changing rooms for weeks which would imply that they don't clean the changing rooms. The bathrooms could use more regular check up too and are often out of toilet paper. There are more broken stairmasters than working ones and they've been out of service for many months. They have a decent amount of equipment but a lot of it is broken and remains broken for a significant period. I have gone to this gym for 6 weeks. Some pieces have been broken since I started at the end of June. At one point, all 4 of their leg extension machines were broken. It is not uncommon to see multiple treadmills and stationary bikes broken for more than a week. A lot of the equipment is old and battered. The facilities are in pretty rough shape as well (dirty and in need of upkeep / maintenance), especially the restrooms. Today I went to the gym only to find out it is closed for 3 days (Aug 3-Aug 5). They left a sign at the front door that informed people if they had a specific membership level, they could use a different Vasa in the area. I don't know if they sent an email because as soon as I joined, I was bombarded by emails & texts from Vasa and I finally opted out of all of their communications. Personally, I think if they are going to close a site for more than 1 day, all members should be allowed to use a different Vasa site until they re-open. read more

My husband who is 76 years old signed up with his Silver Sneakers benefit and wanted to get a couple of training sessions to familiarize himself with the equipment. They signed him up for personal training sessions and didn't tell him he was signing a contract. When he signed their Tablet form he thought he was signing for his credit card payment of one session. They didn't give him a copy of what he was signing nor did they tell him he couldn't cancel. This is highly unethical and probably borders on being illegal. What a scam! He had an initial assessment session that was so extreme for a 76 year old man with congestive heart failure that he could hardly move for 4 days. When he tried to cancel his sessions and membership, they told him couldn't cancel until he paid his contract in full plus paying a $25 fee to cancel. He signed up under the Silver Sneakers program which is free to him. This business operates unethically and really preys on people. DO NOT use this gym. Take your business elsewhere especially if you are a senior. read more

This is the absolute worst gym in SLC, I wish I had listened to what all the reviews said. I spoke with someone at the counter at this gym to cancel and gave my membership number and was told "no problem", 2 months later they're trying to charge me saying "you didn't do it right, you need to cancel in writing" which the desk staff did NOT tell me. This place is simply awful and this particular gym is ghetto af. Broken machines, missing kettle bells, a weird smell in the facility. avoid at all costs. read more

I've tried a bunch of gyms in the Salt Lake area and I go quite a ways out of my way just to go to this VASA location. The main reason? They have a full basketball court and a sauna. The locker rooms and equipment are always clean, and I like how everything is organized. They have group fitness classes, if that's your thing, a pool, jacuzzi, weight room, and so many more amazing amenities in one place! I've had to learn the right time to come workout, since it can be quite a zoo from 5-7PM. It's always nice to workout in a well-maintained gym and the staff here do an excellent job at providing a wonderful environment! read more

Had a terrible experience dealing with the female manager working at the Chandler AZ location the morning of Tuesday 6/24/25. Vasa keeps copying and pasting a response saying someone will be contact with me but I already put a stop payment from anything from the crooks at Vasa and am waiting for the payment to post so I can officially dispute it. Because of this I'm giving every Vasa 1 star and helping steer people to Vasa fitness locations! I don't need to be contacted just train that manager better or tell her to start an OF so she is not so overworked and underpaid please and thank you! If anybody else has problems with Vasa instead of letting them pull multiple payments out before cancelling just go directly through your bank to cancel so they don't want to talk to anybody until it's at this point! The gym is ok, I only went twice in July 2024, and switched to EOS. Could have been a lot cleaner, but it seems to stay pretty busy so plenty of people must like it. And as mentioned it's been 8 months since I was there so it could be in much better shape now. read more

Thanks for your prompt response. I learned that VASA uses Pandora for their playlist, but they ony have five channels available. I'm told that four of the five are hip hop, the only other one is called "Old School" something, which doesn't suck. But there are tons of other stations, I find it hard to believe that four of five members would choose rap as their favorite workout playlist. read more

The movie theater was down for about a month and that was my favorite part of this gym. Aside from lady vasa which is an awesome exclusive part of Vasa which makes it my favorite gym. Classes weekly as early as 5:30am to 9am for cycle class which I do and I appreciate and the teaches are always energetic and bring a lot of energy to the classes and make sure everyone is engaged. read more

I had my monthly payment dues returned by Vasa and charged a fee, when I had the money in my account t for payment. I called this gym location to resolve the problem, but they told me that they couldn't help me that I needed to call customer service. I call customer service about my payment, and I was on hold for over an hour since I was doing something else and waiting for someone live to come on the phone, nobody came. I sent an email to resolve the problem and I was totally bushed off after I explained the reason why I was being charged in error. The rep send me finally an email two days later saying nothing they can do, and if it was something else they can help". Issued not resolved. Careful with them. They will charged you late fees and cannot explained why it was returned, with an answer "is nothing we can do". read more

Wall clocks have been removed. Lot of members have need of knowing the time for work, school & commitments. The cost is minimal and would be nice to know the reason why a low cost clock would be a burden to the company. I have been a member since the facility opened and seen many changes good and some very bad. Clock seems a minor item to add that could make many members appreciative of the Vasa efforts to be customer minded. The showers are very dirty but the employees try to keep clean. VASA = MEDIOCRE AT BEST BROKEN EQUIPMENT AND MANAGEMENT DOESN'T CARE I joined VASA 2 months ago and workout at least 4-5 days a week. This location is run down. On average, 4-5 of their 12 treadmills have been "OUT OF SERVICE". I'm tired of waiting 30-40 minutes for a treadmill. I filled out a support ticket on the VASA App and called Member Loyalty. As of last night, 4 treadmills are still broken. You will never find any staff walking around the club to assist or answer questions. They are all huddled at the front desk or sales desk signing up new members. It's very disappointing that they are so eager to sign you up and get your money and do nothing in return to ensure all equipment is working and the staff is engaging the members. I have asked for a manager on 3 separate visits and she was never available. Crazy that a gym this size doesn't have a manager on duty at all times. Time to change gyms. P.S. Don't waste your time posting a Support Ticket on the VASA App. All responses are auto-generated. Even after management replied to my review and said they were passing my concerns along, NO ONE has ever reached out to me. read more

This is the worst gym in the Salt Lake Valley. I've been a member of VASA since they bought out Golds Gym and this location is the reason I ended my membership. Most machines are broken and stay broken for months at a time. The gym itself is dirty, grimy, and covered in dust. Sanitizing wipes are rarely stocked. Weights are never where they are supposed to be (if they have any at all--simple dumbbells are hard to come by). Management has no care for the safety of its customers, or care for customers in general. They allow cars and lockers to be broken into daily and do not comply with local law enforcement in these cases. This is a horribly managed gym and unless you want a subpar workout and to feel unsafe, save yourself the headache and find a different gym. read more

The condition of the men's locker room / bathroom is the most unsanitary I've ever seen at a gym, maybe anywhere. You'll see toilets clogged and full of excrement for weeks before they're cleaned. The floor of the locker room looks like it's never been mopped. It's always covered in a layer of dirt and sticky. In the 2 years I've gone to this gym I have never seen a staff member cleaning the locker room or bathroom. It's a miracle the health department hasn't stepped in. It's a shame because they have good equipment and lots of room in the gym. But the horrible locker room condition is beyond anything I've ever seen at a business. read more

The facilities are large and there are lots of machines and free weights. Even when it's busy, I can usually work out without waiting (much) for particular machines. That's the good part. The bad part: the facilities aren't clean, and the locker room and pool areas are raggedy and filthy. The men's showers have been broken for about 3 weeks now, and the steam room for more than a week. They finally put a TV in the men's locker room, but it usually has a blank screen. The floors in the locker room and pool area are disgusting--if they are ever cleaned (and I sincerely doubt they are), there's no way bleach is being used. I have been a member at this location for nearly ten years. I continue to come because of the community I've built, certainly not because of the gym. Ive had countless bad experiences with this place over the years. Lately, I am SO fed up with how gross the bathroom/lockers rooms are. Like how hard is it to clean? It's pathetic. Also all the basketballs are trash and the floor is always dirty as hell, which I use regularly. It's like a messy teenagers room in here. As far as gyms go this one is ok. I come here because it's close to home. I've been a member for a couple years. I will say this place is clean. I've becer seen anything dirty in any area. But I swear every day I come in and another machine is broken. I saw one treadmill down yesterday then I came in today and the one next to it is down as well. I get it machines go down but let's home they arend down a week. It's hard enough to get in some treadmill time. But that's because this location is always busy. The reason I gave this location 3 stars is for two reasons. First one is they do not enforce any rules like gym bags all over the the workout floors. Sometimes you have to find different paths so you dont walk over some jerk's stuff. And the second is the desk staff. They cant be bothered to greet anyone just put the scanner on the counter. This VASA Fitness is hot and cold - not stable. Some workers are nice and some workers are just ...wtfable. I have been VASA hopping and I think this VASA is the most unorganized, most members there don't clean after themselves and I'm a guest and I clean after myself. I've been at South Jordan, West Jordan, and this one- I believe the one in West Valley City VASA is the best and super clean and super organized. The Sauna room is MUCH hotter than the other VASA gyms... check that out! :) FYI it is not 24/7 fitness place - propaganda - it's only open 24 hours from tues to saturday according to their door's schedule so it's technically 24/5 not 24/7 -- you need to be honest with your sign on your VASA building. read more

This place has everything under the sun that you could ever want or need in a fitness facility. Only downside is everyone knows that about this particular facility, therefore the place is packed often and equipment tends to be scarce during high-traffic times of day. Just had a weird and unprofessional experience here in the nutrition shop. Bought some protein powder and then proceeded to ask about their options for Creatine.. the cashier said they are doing a promo where you can get 25% off if you buy the two items together. Anyways he "forgot" the transaction promo which lead to him needing to call his boss to figure out to fix his mistake. His boss thought I wasn't in the store and just said don't worry about it which is 1. Unprofessional, and 2. Not good business practices, "basically said just pocket the money." Long story short they screwed up the transaction, didn't pay me out properly, and it just made me feel like I can't trust buying supplements from this shop again. I'm just hoping that this review will make customers whom shop here more cognizant of their transactions and make sure they aren't getting ripped off. That's how I feel right now. But I guess thats what you get at vasa. Vasa I'd like you guys to fix this. I wouldn't of even bought the Creatine if I new you weren't going to give me the deal that you offered. read more

I'm not sure why there are negative reviews for this place - it's a pretty standard gym; it's not perfect, but if you want perfection, head to LifeTime and pay five times the price. I go to both, and I appreciate both for different reasons. The only thing I cannot speak to is the men's bathroom, and, as I would say to anyone else - if you WANT better, DO better. Guys, if you want a spectacular bathroom experience, I suggest creating one - these memberships aren't highly expensive, and it appears like everyone's doing their best. This is my favorite Vasa location by far! I drive past another location just to get to this one for my workouts. The staff is nice, and the facility is huge. They recently expanded and added a few Studio Red classes and an Olympic weight lifting center. They have a turf area for stretching and rolling out, multiple squat racks. They have a lady vasa that I really like, keeps you away from the gym-intimidation you may feel. It is a smaller room than the normal free weight lifting area but it does the job. A few stair masters and a large cardio area as well as a cardio cinema. Swimming pool, basketball court, racket ball court and saunas. I've made many new friends since coming here, I can officially say I am a regular. read more

If you're a member and have young children..stay away from the Daycare. The employees are terrible, and they yell at the kids., plus they have very limited hours. And also, the children are not even allowed to use the bathroom while there. So ridiculous! They shouldn't even bother offering a Daycare service. read more
