This is a lovely park to spend a beautiful day at the lake. We spent the entire day before 4th of July here and had a great time. There are plenty of picnic tables and places in the grass or sand to set up shop for the day. Even the day before a holiday didn't seem too crowded. We were able to bring in our small camping grill which was a huge bonus. The swimming area has lifeguards and again, there was plenty of space for everyone. I'd come back on a sunny day. The entrance is $4.50 and parking is across the street. read more

We have been going to Vasa for years to have a summer party with our company with about 150 people. When covid happened they said that we had a option to move our party to a different date or have a drive-In movie theater. They were not willing to move our deposit $600.00 to next year like we were told in one of the first phone calls that I had with them. We should have been able to move our party to next year. Keeping deposits is not a good business practice when the state does not even allow us to gather. read more

This is my 2nd year we had my son's birthday party here. We invited about 30 people each time. As long as the weather permits you'll have a great time. The day we where celebrating my son B-day there was a thunder storm around the area. So they closed the beach until it was safe to go back in the water. Off and on the life guards would warn people to get out of the water until it passed by. But that did not stop the party. Anybody up for Basketball or Volleyball??? We even brought our own BBQ grill. Overall a nice park to be at but the staff in the office running things are terrible and completely unorganized. Their tallying system is a complete joke for group reservations. They will try to scam you out of more money then what you actually owe and what was discussed prior to reserving. I will not come be back to this because of management and staff are disrespectful and very rude. Do not rent here they also didn't offer cheaper reservations and only offered the most expensive option first, without telling us about the cheaper alternative for groups our size. Sad to say its a nice park but if you want to feel disrespected and unhappy with the service then I don't recommend reserving at Vasa Park. read more

Had a small company event here and it was a great spot to spend the day. The staff were all friendly and were able to provide us with some things we forgot to bring with us at no charge. The beach is lovely and it has a really nice, nostalgic feel to it. read more

We came from out of town to visit Seattle and wanted to be in the city during the day and do the tent & campfire thing overnight. Vasa Park is perfect for that! It is on the lake so there is definitely a nature-y feel to it, but it is only 25min from Seattle so it is definitely not like a campground in the cascade mountains. It is far closer than any other tent camping options I could find, so we got a tentcamping space here and had a great time. The lady at the office was extremely friendly and the other campers were polite and friendly. Quiet hours begin (on Friday at least) at 11pm but no campers within earshot of us were being unreasonably loud before or after 11. It's definitely a family-friendly campground so if partying is a big goal of your camping experience you may not want to do it here. There is a building with plenty of restrooms, sinks and a shower, and you can request a metal fire 'pit'. Our only wish was that there was more space between the tent campsites but other than that Vasa Park is probably as good as it gets for suburban tent camping. read more

This review is for the camping area only. The location was selected since it was convenient to the airport and we needed a spot that we could easily return to after a late night pick up. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very unpleasant woman. She looked at the RV and said rudely "What are you doing here". We responded we are here to check in. She rudely again she said "Are you sure, well pull out of the way and I will check". Once she determined we had a reservation she became friendly. The sites are very small about 40' by 12'. This extremely important if you have pets, as they are only allowed in your site not in the rest of the park. You pick nick table water and 15 AMP hook up is at the end of the site. The water and electric are on a shared pedestal, so your typical 25' length may not be sufficient to reach the pedestals. The tables are lined up in a row with your neighbors. Some of the sites shared a grill, on many they were missing. On the side we were on the table was large chain-link fence covered in vines. That was nice barrier except the wild black berry vines hanging over the fence. For those of you not familiar, wild black berries have very large thorns on them. During the day the park is crowded and it looks more like tailgating before a big game then a campground. Once the day use people leave it's a little less crowded but given the site size and lay out do not expect any privacy. My wife left the campground after hours an off duty employee was standing around and watched her get out of the open the gate, pull the vehicle up, get out and close the gate. I understand they were off duty but I am from the south and its rude not to offer a helping hand, especially if you are just standing around. The final straw for me was in the morning when I went to the showers and found the coin operating machinery jammed. I could have waited until 9 AM for the employee's living onsite to go on duty and repair the shower but decided I would rather head down town to the market. I would recommend this place as an overnight stop near the airport but I would not recommend a multiday stay. There is access to the lake if you are traveling with a boat, kayak or SUP. read more

We booked a 30amp campsite here, and when we arrived we were assigned to a campsite with a 20amp hookup. This wasn't enough power to run our AC, and it was 90 degrees+ with two dogs that could not be left in our travel trailer in that kind of heat. Apparently we weren't the only ones that had been misled as our neighbor was unable to run their RV at full power as well. Besides the power issues, we were told that our dogs must be kept on our campsite and were not allowed anywhere else in the campground. This was complicated by the fact that the campsites were right on top of each other and with our neighbor's slideout extended, we barely had any outdoor space. We headed back up to the front office and requested a refund, and with such short notice to find another campground, we ended up having to pay to stay at a hotel 25 miles South of Seattle. read more

We loved it here! My boyfriend and I came from New Mexico and ran into some trouble finding and RV spot because it was older but Vasa had the best and friendliest staff who took us in and made us feel like home! They have great showers and laundry mats and a beautiful view! We loved it here and the staff is amazing! read more

After spending the summer at this park with my two kids, I upgraded my rating to 5 stars. The park staff work hard to keep this park clean, well-run, and the guests well-behaved. I've had an wonderful day with my child on the beach while up to 4 company parties were in full swing! The music wasn't too loud. The bathrooms were cleaned up all day, the beach still had room for more towels and ducks. And all the garbage was picked up and emptied out of the park before dark. Yes, the entrance fee is high - especially now that you have to pay tax on top of the already pricey fees (I think it's $4.50 now for adults, $2 something for kids over 2?). My life would improved if I could just buy a stupid pass. Gah. But we visited 2-3 times a week all summer and still spent less than we would have at Phantom Lake Pool. Because we live around the corner and I have a baby that naps all day, practically, cutting down our commute to the beach time - we spent less on gas than driving to other beaches. What I love: Close parking, a new button activated pedistrian walkway light, improved walkway from parking lot to the park, a nice baby play area, medium depth area, and nice deep area swimming. I am terrified of lake weeds - none here. It gets deep so quickly you can always just jump off the dock.Tired? Go buy some novelty ice cream or candy at the refreshment shack.Your child does not need to pass a swim test to swim in the deep area. My child preferred this park to all others this summer because of that. She can't swim the crawl yet, and you must at city parks to swim in the deep area. What I don't like so much: The lifeguards here are not as vigilent as you expect at a city park. I've NEVER seen one look behind them in the baby area. Not that I'd let my baby swim alone, but still. I'm a little on the fence about letting my big kid swim in the deep area without a life preserver, because the lifeguards often look distracted, and I can't dive out there because of said baby. She made the cut this summer after working on her front strokes and back float. Also, I don't know where the kids come from for the summer camp, but I've never seen a meaner bunch of kids. I finally yelled at one group to stop terrorizing the baby ducks, and that no, you can't tell a 9 yo boy he can't play "because he sucks all the fun out." This place as an RV park majorly sucks! Just a glorified parking lot. Would never stay here again and would recommend everyone stay away and not give these owners any money. My wife and I have stayed in city RV parks before in New Orleans, Vancouver and Austin and sure they were tight but this place takes the cake. The staff is no help and you have to pay to use the showers, complete B.S.!! Our Mercedes Roadtrek RV is tiny and were still crowded on both sides. Plus no noise rules so neighbors kept us up till like one in the morning. Vasa SUCKS. read more

My Friends and Family, were stunned on the view and the activities you could do here. volleyball area, basketball area, Slide, diving area, playground etc! Suzie and the staff of Vasa Park Resort were wonderful for our event. We found the resort through Yelp while searching for parks that would allow bar service. We visited the resort and were immediately sold. The view of Lake Sammamish from the park is just peaceful and pleasant. We had a l500 person company event at the resort. Suzie accommodated all of our vendors, including four food trucks, a Schwan's truck, photo booth, two large inflatables, a game truck, and various picnic-y activities. And we didn't even come close to using the entire park - which we had rented out for a VERY reasonable rate. We didn't need to worry about garbage cans or much clean up. Our vendors have worked the Vasa Park venue often enough that they went directly to the staff with any needs, which allowed us to focus on our event and attendees. Many families stayed after the event to take advantage of the docks and slides. Everyone that had attended our company events in the past expressed that Vasa Park was the best venue so far (previous events at Lake Sammamish State Park and Gene Coulon Park). I think it would be impossible to not enjoy sitting and just looking at the lake. read more

Susie, her husband, and the entire Vasa Park Staff are simply amazing. This is one of my favorite hidden gem's in this area and is one of the best venues here in the area. We had a company picnic here last month and despite the less than perfect weather, all of our participants had a blast. There is so much to do at the park and our employees and their families took advantage of it all. We brought in lots of entertainment/food including food trucks, face painting, balloon art, cotton candy, popcorn, sno-cones, a bar, inflatables, a game truck, and countless other things and Susie and team were happy to accommodate and provide suggestions. Hands down, Vasa park has some of the best event staff around. Absolutely recommend this park to anyone and everyone! read more

My girlfriend rented rented a site for us and it was nothing like advertised. The sites were so close we really couldn't get vehicle in to "our site." This would be fun for a group camping or a day excursion but anything else would be a waste. Really looks like someone planned out a day use area and tried to make it a campground also. read more

This park has all the potential but it needs a little love. The roads aren't paved well and the basketball hoop is about 2 feet too tall. But, it is water front - it's got great bathrooms, a beach sand volleyball pot, plenty or field space and the staff was very friendly. read more

A gem of a spot. Stayed 2 nights on our 14 day RV road trip and loved this place the best of all. Its small and quaint, on the shore of a gorgeous lake. Super clean restrooms, small laundry, snack shop. Kids enjoyed jumping off the floating deck & slide in the lake. Drive into Seattle was a breeze, apx 9 miles. Theres a boat ramp too. One word of caution- arriving in an RV is tricky the first time as the entrance to the place is on a blind curve AND ontop of that, they keep the chain link gate to the place closed most of the time. This confused us and we ended up driving past the place the first time, and had to loop back thru a neighborhood with extremely steep streets, hard on the RV towing our Jeep, almost didnt make it. Soooooooo to avoid that, just know that you can park in their parking lot directly across from the entrance, then walk in & register, and they will open the gate for you to drive in. OR just open the gate yourself, its OK, and its never locked. Im pretty sure the whole point of the gate is because its a park setting and this keeps random cars from pulling in and hitting kids. Again, we loved this cute, shady, shoreside gem. read more

We have enjoyed visiting here in the past but the last two times we drove 45min to spend the day swimming/picnicking with the kids, the park was closed for a private event midweek, despite having checked their online calendar beforehand which did not reflect the closure. Needless to say we're more than disappointed after this happening twice and won't be returning. read more

We had been to Vasa Park twice in the past for closed events. As we loved the park, beach, and all the structure today we were expecting the same good experience we had before. I was mistaken. Your kid is supposed to do a swimming test before he can go on the slides and diving board. It is on deeper water. Ok, almost every beach park has this requirement, and I think it is something important to do. I support it. But as a rule there you cannot use a gogle. And if you don't pass, you don't get a second chance. WTH?? Seriously? After asking why my kid didn't pass on the test, the life guard said it was because she didn't swim in a straight line. Is it easy to swim in a perfect straight line without a gogle? No, it is not. When I asked why was not allowed to use a gogle during the test, he said that in case a boat or jet ski invaded the beach, she would not be able to swim to defend herself without a gogle, in case she looses it in the water. Imagine this happening: do you think just trying to swim away from a speeding, out of control boat coming direct at you, without notice, would be enough to save your life? My kid swims for more than 5 years now, she is on the last stage to graduate for the swimming team at Samena. She knows how to swim. The difference is that at Samena and other beaches around the gogle is required to do a swimming test. Only at Vasa Park it is not.Then the life guard told me to talk to the owner. I did. Same explanation, only that she borrowed me a broken down zipper life jacket. And did I mention about the duck poop all over the beach sand? I think there were more ducks that people there today, to be honest. Nothing against the ducks, I love animals. But please clean up your beach before opening and charging people to use it. I totally respect the good reviews other people had posted here. I just wanted to share my experience. Very disappointed. read more

We camp here every summer for cheap (about $30) for full hook ups. Plus, have come here for some company picnics. The managers are very friendly. I can't believe I can camp 15 minutes from my house and get a lake view site at this price. The beach is steps away. It is a pretty small camp site though and I recommend booking Jan. 1 for the year ahead as the good spots and dates fill up quickly. read more

We have camped here 3 times, and have reservations to return soon. Overall, this is an exceptional place to stay. The park is well maintained and the management is very engaged in running the park. As a campsite, it tends to attract middle aged and senior citizens so it tends to be on the quieter side. Day-users and rarely some campers can be a bit on the noisy side but not unbearable. Management is very good at ensuring day users leave at specific time (don't remember but I think 6 pm) and that the noisy campers comply with quiet hours which I believe are from 10 pm to 8 am. We camped with our small children, and felt very welcomed by the campers and management. Location, price and view cannot be beat. Bathrooms and laundry facility are probably from the 70's or 80's but well kept. This is one of our favorite places to stay at. read more

We had our school auction at Vasa Ballroom this past November and it was such a great space! Susie is fantastic to work with from beginning to end. The space itself was easily transformed for our auction for 150 guests and another 50+ volunteers. We had room for all the areas we needed including dinner, dancing, casino tables and just a great time! I'd definitely try to book Vasa for my next event again! read more

Just returned from a two night stay, NEVER TO RETURN AGAIN! The Park its self, the beach and water activities are great, but this facility is used for day camps for kids (approx. 60 kids on the days I was there) and multiple group gathers....all on the same day. The place was a zoo during the day. But it gets worse, Vasa Park web sites boast their washrooms are "sparkling". OMG, easily the most disgusting sites I've seen!!! There were pubic hair on the floor in between two urinals that were there for my entire 3 day stay. On the first morning I went to have a shower only to find human feces inside the one and only male shower stall and wet sand all over the change area. It was 9:00am, kids all over the place for the day camp and obvious the bathrooms hadn't been attend to that morning. I immediately informed the staff about the mess and they said "we will clean it up". The clean up consisted of a dust pan for the poop that went into the trash can that didn't have a plastic bag in it. No disinfectant for the shower floor and the wet sand still there....YUCK!!! I used the handicapped shower that had dirty floors but no poop stains on the shower floor. The toilets were also disgusting each and every day and required a 2-3 minute wipe down before using them. My wife witnessed similar sites in the women's washroom, poop smeared on toilets, excess water, dirt and sand on the floors. I might suggest to the owners? managers?, "as you appear to have an abundance of staff that sit at the front gate all day long doing NOTHING, you might want to clean up after the hoards of people that visit Vasa Park on a daily basis". By "clean up" I mean use some disinfectant and scrub the place and do it several times a day. Those washrooms should be visited by staff every 2-3 hours! I also paid $40.00 per night to have 30 amp power site to which I was informed I couldn't run my air conditioning......seriously? I ran it daily! read more

RV Parks and ballrooms do not mix. This place is pretty and might be fine for corporate picnics and other events, but as an RV park it is awful. There is 1 shower for women, 1 for men. That's it. And you have to pay 25 cents for 5 minutes. And they don't tell you this when you reserve or check in. So, if you show up after being on the road and are looking forward to a shower, you'd better have quarters. And why do we have to pay for a shower anyway? Aren't we paying enough to stay here? Our other issue was the noise. There is a ballroom onsite and we heard music until after midnight!!! And the spaces are so on top of each other that your neighbors are right there, inches from you. So close that we had to ask our neighbors to move their belongings just so that we had room to pull in. And apparently, since it's so noisy with the music from the ballroom, campers think it's ok to stay up late partying noisily. Awful camping experience. Will never stay here again. read more
