The display cases are full of gaming cards, and there's a line of tables for card gaming, and the comics they do hAve are so packed in the wall shelf that they're almost bending from the weight and pressure of the book. Also they never get any variants. All the variants they would get are sent to their Flatbush location because they sell for more there. Despite everything, this store is nice, because they're so helpful and those two old folk are just adorable.

Fastforward to today not only is bulletproof ushering in a new crop of Comics, Manga and tcg collectors. Hank has singlehandedly cultivated some of the biggest comic events to date in Brooklyn. FRANK MILLER, yes the Frank Miller came to Brooklyn and had a signing. Hank has had celebrities from "The Flatbush Zombies" to Rob Markman, Comic Royalty such as Joe Illidge also frequent the shop. Not to mention Hank had adapted with the times. Video Games, Retro Games, Skateboards to Manga. Now High end Lithos and paintings. ALL while providing quality service. If you're looking for old stock to complete a collection, chances are, this is where you want to be. Majority of the warehouse *is* old stock with a smaller section for newly released comics. To me that's not really a downside because if you wanted new comics you could go literally anywhere else. But if you're looking for treasures, hard to find older issues, or just older comics in general that you want to read and don't care about the resale value or the condition it's in, this is the place for you. It's a place for collectors and enthusiasts that are searching because they want to own something, not because they're trying to hold it for resale. As for me, I was able to grab Star Wars IV, V, VI in comic form which I never even knew they made, just $5 each. I think this is a must-visit for comic lovers and I'm SO glad our uncle brought us here. Even if you aren't looking for anything, you really need to go just to see how many comics are on these shelves. It's mind-blowing.

If there's a Target in Abu-Ghraib, it is better than this one. Escalators not working. I saw maybe one active employee walking around looking confused. I love everything about this bookstore; The smell, the look, the no pressure vibe, the books, the stuff. You get the idea. Also, Andrew is a gem. He is nowledgeable, helpful, funny and very personable. My hubby was with me and he found some comic books and left very happy. I purchased a cookbook and will return for a couple of really cute Lego sets. All thumbs up fingers AND toes!!

I feel the prices were very reasonable, even though I saw some comments about people saying the books are overpriced. No one bothered us when we spent quite a while looking through the various shelves and it felt like a very calm environment in a busy city. Left with a few books so the trip was a hit.

Buying and Selling at Book Off What a cool store. So much to…read moresee. Unfortunately, it is lousy to sell at and expensive to buy at. First, Selling. I brought in three statue items unopened in the original packaging. I checked on ebay for what the items sold for (not asking price but sold price) and it added up to about $600, I lugged the items over there and had to leave them there because they wouldn't get to them right away. The people/kids working there were very nice. I went to have lunch and got the text to return, and they are offering $150. So I picked up the items and turned down the offer. Again, they were very nice, it's just I wasn't willing to accept 25% of the value. I figured at worst it would be 50%. But I am better off getting closer to the actual price on ebay. Now, Buying. Lots of very expensive and exiting things to get, and I didn't have time to price check things so much, but my son is into the Nintendo switch and i spotted a used Marvel VS Capcom game he might like. It was $34.95. But just in case, I pulled up Amazon and looked the game up. A brand new one costs $21.79. So it would have been a terrible idea for me to buy it there. I guess if you are leaving work and need a quick gift, you might stop in and pay too much for an item. If you are in real trouble and don't have time to wait for an Ebay sale, you might consider selling your collectables for 25% the value, this place might come in handy.
