We've been dining at Level 2 Steakhouse for many years--long enough that our Cut Club personalized knives actually pre-date (and survived!) the Branson tornado. It's always been a favorite for the food, atmosphere, and outstanding staff, but this evening was truly exceptional. Chef Drake Tillman has elevated several of the classic Level 2 menu items, bringing fresh life to dishes we already loved. The wine list continues to be superb, and notably, the pricing is far more reasonable than what you typically see at other fine dining restaurants in the Branson area. Level 2 Steakhouse in Branson delivered excellent food--perfectly cooked salmon and fresh sides--and awesome, attentive service throughout most of the meal. The only issue: we each had one Buffalo Trace Old Fashioned and they rang up at $40 each! (BTW you can grab a bottle of Buffalo trace at Sam's for 21$)...That's $80 we weren't expecting! As a local, it felt misleading without prices listed or mentioned. ASK about drink costs upfront, especially premium - not so premium one. Breakfast Buffett - AMAZING! Their selection is out of this world and presented in such a way that you just want to eat it all! Plus, each day, Chef has something new they put out and that is always worth trying. Their bacon is seriously some of the best I have ever had and for sure the best on a buffet! Their service - TOP SHELF! I was there for a few days in a row and Gerald (Jerry) had my preferences down to an art. He was so accommodating and made sure that I had everything I needed. We went for breakfast and decided on the buffet for the variety. The drinks were included in the cost of the buffet so it seemed like a better deal, since coffee is $ 4.00 on the regular menu. Typical breakfast fare, scrambled eggs (chewy and tough) sausage links and bacon (maple flavored) breakfast potatoes ( uninspiring and chewy), fresh cut fruit. Plenty of other choices were here that we did not partake of. Staff was friendly and the dining room was very nice. I imaging dinner would be an intimate affair. Cooked perfectly, great flavor, not as tinder as I had hoped for a filet. The blue cheese bacon topping was a little much. It was somewhat overpowering with how much blue cheese was used. The presentation to select your own knife was awesome. The butter cake dessert was to die for. Made me feel like I need a wheelchair to get out of there. The service was superb! Went to the $95 Mothers Day brunch. I give 5+ stars to the service, dining atmosphere, and the presentation of all the food on display. Service was attentive and cordial, and I felt I was being taken care of throughout my time there. As amazing as the food looked, the quality and taste left me wondering why I ever paid that much for a brunch. Yes, they had lots of options to choose from, but to me, the only good thing there was the prime rib, the seafood (crab legs, ahi tuna, raw jumbo shrimp) a few desserts, and the charcuterie board. Otherwise, the breakfast items (fresh made omelets were worth going back for) were pretty standard, the lunch/dinner options were underwhelming and surprisingly, the sides (green beans/carrots/fried brussel sprouts) were just not good. They were tough and hard to chew. The salmon would've been better if it was a smoked salmon. Lamb was overcooked. I don't like submitting reviews like this, because I genuinely know they cared about how to serve guests the best way possible but I would've paid maybe $55 for this brunch, and if they took out the cold seafood bar, which to me isn't really necessary, they could charge less. For a $95 buffet, I expect way better quality from the food. Ive been to buffet style restaurants in Vegas and spent $50-80 and that was 10x better food than this. read more
