We bought a new stainless steel range hood to replace an over the range microwave. We needed all the ductwork installed for the hood as the microwave was a recirculating unit. After contacting several other contractors and being told they don't serve this area or don't perform this service, I found Lewis Mechanical on Yelp. Joe responded quickly with a price and came out within a couple days to look at the job. I also had him relocate an electrical outlet and rewire the outlet in my cabinet. On install day we met Spencer and Wyatt. They were both very respectful and careful around our brand new cabinets and wood floor. Called and left a message TWICE for them to please call me back because my air conditioning had broke. First their voicemail cut me off. Called back finished my message left my number never got a call back. Called again and left my name and number and still never got a call back. Our air conditioning broke during one of the hottest weeks over the summer. Ended up getting ahold of different company and resolved the issue. read more

We had a significant leak in our basement from our heating and AC unit; after contacting a different company that tried (and failed) to diagnose the problem over the phone, I turned to Lewis Mechanical. They were very prompt in responding, we had a technician come out in just a few days, and he discovered that the drain from our condensate unit was trying to discharge into a wooden post! My furnace was not working. My wife was not happy. My kids were freezing. You guys get the picture. I had an 8am appointment and Joey Lewis was right on time. It wasn't a Comcast "We'll be there between the hours of 9am and noon." He was professional and respectful, even wore the blue booty shoe covers while he walked through my house. After going through some diagnostics, Joey isolated the problem. He replaced a very old surface ignitor and also found a tripped limit. After doing some additional testing, he determined the circuit board failed due to age. Joey had to pick the circuit board from a supplier then promptly returned later in the afternoon to install it. Everything seemed to be running well until Joey discovered a blow capacitor. He fixed that too. My house is now pumping heat again. Granted my unit is very old, Joey got things up and running again. I'll most likely have to replace everything in the next few years, which I will 100% call on Lewis Mechanical. My furnace is working. My wife is happy. My kids are toasty. I just can't say enough about Lewis mechanical!! Long story short, we have a 15 year old AC unit and have been thinking about replacing it to get a dual zone and a more efficient AC unit. We had four other major companies come out and give us quotes. Shortly after the last quote that we got our AC died and would not work.... the fan wouldn't even turn on! . The technician that did the last quote came out and told us that it could not be fixed and it was "dead". Worst news ever right?!? I wanted to get a second opinion so I had Lewis mechanical come out. You guessed it last Thursday my HVAC went out. Called in Lewis Mechanical. They were out Friday and did a pressure check on the compressor. It had the same pressure on input and output. Translation it died. Well being so old there are no replacement parts so it was a gut job. After swearing out the weekend Lewis Mechanical got the permit to put in a new system Monday morning. Of course working in an attic with the outside temp over 108 was not the conditions anybody would enjoy. Wednesdy the system was installed an working including new ducts. The old ones leaked badly, and would not passed inspection. Thursday the last bit of work was don on the heating part. We are happy with Joey and Joe's work. Our 30+ year old heater died in February of 2016. We were told by our HVAC contractor that it was not coming back from the dead and they worked up an estimate for a new system. We were in sticker shock, and said we'd need to think it over for awhile. Later on, we were told that the system could be fixed but would cost about $1600. We decided to live with space heaters since Spring was here and save up as much cash as we could over the summer and revisit in the Fall. In the Fall I received a call from our HVAC company saying they wanted to come out and do our Fall maintenance on our heater. I felt irritated that they didn't recall, or have in their records somewhere, that our heater was kaput. In the summer my co-worker and friend had her combo heating/AC system replaced, and I remembered her raving about the company, so I asked her for a referral. Enter Joe from Lewis Mechanical. Poor Joe came into our lives during the worst possible timing. We'd just discovered that I needed surgery that was not covered by insurance, and my boyfriend was stricken with sciatica that was so bad his sports medicine doctor said he was one fall away from becoming a paraplegic. We had unexpected debt suddenly coming out of our ears, and Joe was chirpily telling us about the new system he wanted to install. When he heard about our money woes he immediately said we should look into replacing the motor after all, which he hoped would give us some time to recover. We'd had the option to repair but he was afraid that something else would go wrong due to the age of the unit. Unfortunately, two days before my surgery was scheduled he discovered, when he went to replace the motor, that the firebox was cracked - meaning we were dead in the water. I had already gotten a loan through my 401k for my surgery, and I wasn't allowed to get a second one, so I didn't see where we'd be able to get a loan where we could afford the monthly payments on top of the two medical loans we'd just gotten. Plus the holidays were coming! Shawna spent hours looking for financing for us, and she found a loan that allowed an 18 month deferred payment program. The interest rate was high, sure, but it gave us 18 months to figure out a better plan when we were all healed up from our medical issues. The only bummer was how long it took for us to actually get the HVAC installed, and none of that was Lewis Mechanical's fault. First, they were just already booked up through the second week of December. Then, Mother Nature decided to bring a rain storm the week of our scheduled install, so we had to wait an extra week. But let me tell you, that warm air that started flowing out of our vents felt like the breath of angels when it finally happened! I highly recommend Lewis Mechanical! Joe and Joey and Shawna were all great to work with, were super nice and compassionate to our personal woes, and did everything they could to get us heat as soon as possible. I have to say, I'm really disappointed with the communication with this company. On October 28th we had a service call and was told the part would be about $700.00. At this point, a new unit was recommended and I was told to take a day or two to think about it. The next day, I called back and said we were going to go ahead and commit to a brand new unit. I was told I would get a call back. In 10 days, I've called three times and still no communication from this company. This is NOT good customer service! I don't know if they're interested, busy or out of business. One phone call to give me a status on whether they are still interested in my business, is all it would have taken. A good contractor doesn't make his clients chase him down. That being said, I question the quote and the 2 year service guarantee they offer. If I have a problem within the two years, how much trouble would I have, getting someone to repair the new unit? My husband was a contractor for 30 years and IF we had treated potential customers this way, we would have been out of business. read more
