    Brunch

Cute brunch spot, very filling and satisfying dishes; Worth mentioning that they got some Asian inspired options, such as Bulgogi Egg Benny and Thai Iced Milk Tea. This place is very busy and popular on the weekends, the inside has good natural lightings, while the dishes have nice presentations, very good for photos.

Came here on a weekday during lunch time and there was already a waitlist! The interior inside is very nice and cozy with lots of seating. Got the bulgogi beef Benedict and shared the earl grey toast with my friend, both were amazing and had so much flavour! Also got the iced vanilla latte and it was the perfect amount of sweetness and coffee! I can see why this brunch spot is so busy and will definitely be back!!

We love a good brunch place! Elephant grind coffee is always a staple. Service was excellent - we always have great conversations with our servers here! We had a friend's day out and ordered the sesame French toast to share. It's our first time ordering this and loved it! Will visit again to try other sweet breakfast menu items.

I went to this place based on the recommendation of my dad, we went during a weekday and this place was packed you have to join a waitlist and it's only a 45 min dining limit. I got the Nutella latte and the chicken and waffles. A bit expensive but the chicken was juicy crispy and moist mixed with the chipotle aioli, and syrup it melts in your mouth and the Nutella latte was not overly sweet and a good robust coffee flavour. The service was good, refilled our water, pretty big portion for the chicken and waffles o shared one dish with my dad and I was full.

We had a lovely brunch here on a Saturday afternoon. They get very busy so expect to wait if you did not make a reservation beforehand. Thankfully, we found a comic book store across the street to spend some time before we got called for our table. We had the elephant, melt pulled pork sandwich and the banana Foster French toast. Both were absolutely delicious even down to the home fries. The French toast would have been very typical, if not for the amazingly delicious caramel sauce that it is served with. Drinks were good, however, I wish that the chai profile in my latte was more prominent, which is a very personal choice. Lovely service and staff, despite a busy and bustling restaurant.

Located in a strip mall in a fairly industrial area it seems to be an unlikely place for a brunch place. Food is Asian fusion brunch so think bulgogi beef sandwich, Benedict's and different items such as lap cheong hash. Quality of coffee here is very decent (they serve Hatch). Drinks are all non alcoholic. Prices range from mid teens (classic breakfast is $16) to low 20's. They have a basic breakfast sandwich that is 11 bucks but you don't get sides. What was ordered: Elephant Melt Peameal Bacon Benedict Bulgogi Beef Sandwich Bananas Foster French Toast All the dishes (except for the dessert) come with salad and home fries. Home fries were amazingly crispy with the right amount of seasoning. This is not a big place so when it gets busy there will be a wait but the menu does indicate a 90 minute seating limit. Add your name to the tablet by the front door and they will call when a table is ready. Good first visit. We will be back!

Cute brunch spot, but kind of overpriced and overhyped. The staff are all super busy but attentive to all guests, and very kind! The waitlist I think is a little crazy for the food, as I don't think it necessarily is better than other brunch spots in the area. All the food we've tried is still pretty solid though, just not quite at the price point that would justify revisiting often. They have some Asian-fusion menu items we thought were interesting, but didn't quite meet expectations (compared to other fusion brunch spots). The lap cheong hash, for example, was mostly only hash. I think there may have only been 4 slices of lap cheong in the whole plate, which adds up to maybe 1/3 of a lap cheong? The hash was simultaneously too salty when you hit a lap cheong, but under-salted when you eat a lone hash. Although it sounds like I'm dunking on it a lot, the lap cheong hash was overall pretty good! The poached eggs were perfect and it was interesting to try--just not something I would order again. Their chicken and waffles are actually quite good though! The chicken is crispy and moist, and the sauce is a great pairing. I can see why this is one of their most popular menu items. Overall, I think it's worth visiting to check off a bucket list item. The food is pretty good overall, so definitely not a waste of a visit, but lots of tradeoffs that I personally would rather not revisit for.

A brunch spot to try in Richmond Hill if you're in the area and don't mind a bit of a wait. We ordered: * Crab Cake Benny * Char Siu Pulled Pork Eggs Benny Food was decent. Unfortunately, the service wasn't great and it wasn't busy that day. It can get really busy during brunch on weekends though, so expect slower service. Still, it's a cute space and could be worth another try on a better day, but this visit definitely missed the mark for us.

I really like Elephant Grind,I enjoy their food, and I especially love their coffee since it's on the stronger side. They're usually pretty busy because the café is on the smaller side, so it's a good idea to join the waitlist. I really liked the pumpkin spice latte and the truffle mushroom eggs Benedict, the eggs are always cooked perfectly. It's a super cute café overall and definitely worth a visit.

One of the first brunch spots in Richmond Hill that started my love for brunch! An OG brunch spot that some say is comparable to popular brunch spots in downtown Toronto ;) Whether you're a classic brunch type of person or love Asian fusion brunch (lap cheong hash, bulgogi beef eggs benny, char siu pulled pork, & more!), you're bound to find something that piques your interest on their menu. This visit, we tried the crab cake eggs benny and chicken & waffles. Personally, I'd go for their char siu pulled pork eggs benny instead because I love how flavourful it is! But if you're into crab cakes, this one is still delish. The chicken & waffles are not for the faint hearted - we didn't expect that pile of fried chicken! Their coffee is pretty good as well. I recommend their pumpkin spice latte - not just because I could drink this all year round, but because it wasn't as sweet as I expected. The espresso roast they use isn't too mild in taste, so you still get that nice flavour in the latte. The one thing I would say is a downside is that they don't take reservations, the space is a bit packed, and the restaurant can get filled up quickly on weekends. So if you don't get here early, be prepared for a bit of a wait.

A great breakfast spot in the Richmond Hill area! A great selection of breakfast foods and was a cute restaurant for a brunch morning. Would definitely recommend going to check this place out for some lovely breakfast items! 8/10 recommend!

Great brunch spot! It gets really busy but they have a tablet to join a waitlist at the front. I had the truffle eggs benedict and iced americano lemonade. The drink was definitely unique - it kind of tasted like iced tea mixed with coffee. If you like lemonade and you like coffee, you'll probably like this drink lol. The eggs benedict was rich and filling, love that they give you a salad to add some freshness to the dish, and the home fries are perfectly crisp. Just a lovely brunch spot overall :)

Super welcoming and friendly staff team. Cozy little coffee shop that has brunch and Asian fusion inspired dishes. Long wait on the weekends during brunch hours (11-1) have to walk in to queue and wait in line. Favorite dishes here include char Siu sandwich, smoked salmon eggs Benedict, or chicken n waffles. They have matcha lattes hot and cold, you get the foam art on the hot ones. Other notable drinks include their hot chocolate, but they can make an iced one too.

I bought a couple of buns as a customer since then and I'm hooked! Bun Appetit is located at Commerce Gate. It's located closer to Highway 7. It's around the corner from Kinton Ramen, which I have been to a handful of times during the pandemic to pick up good eats. I found a parking spot steps away from Bun Appetit on a Wednesday evening at around 6:15 pm and backed in to it. It's easier to find parking when it's a weekday, in the afternoon. Bun Appetit's breads are naturally fermented for 168 hours. I liked that all buns and breads are gut-friendly and low on the glycemic index. I'm always interested in lower sugar options. I have sampled these items: - Baguette - Whole wheat walnut vegan bun - Lychee bun - Raisin earl grey bun - Oreo chocolate delight bun - Matcha pistachio pretzel - Whole wheat German pretzel - Yeast loaf with Nutella They were all delicious. They were soft and airy. My favourites were the whole wheat walnut vegan bun and the Oreo chocolate delight bun (also known as the messy hands bun). The former had whole walnuts that were so crunchy and fresh. The bread was chewy and soft. The messy hands bun used dark chocolate. It was also fluffy and soft. It lived up to its name. I had messy fingers just eating a morsel! It has 9 g of sugar, which is practically nothing being fermented. I liked how unique the flavours were. I loved the smell of the lychee bun. I wish it had lychee pieces in it. Instead, it was wine-infused and that flavour overpowered everything. I loved the yeast loaf with Nutella as a dessert option. I nearly picked up a loaf after this event was over! As a parting snack, I got the truffle mushroom one. It was the last one. I love mushrooms. It was super delicious with truffle oil, enoki mushrooms, spinach, garlic, and melted cheeses on top. The bun was soft and perfect. It was such a gourmet bun. I have since returned to get more buns: - Strawberry beetroot - Chocolate arancia The strawberry beetroot bun was fluffy. I decided to cut it in half. To my surprise and joy, it had whole strawberries in it. Wow and yay! I love fruit, but I wasn't expecting so much of it in this bun. I loved it. It was naturally sweet from the strawberries. The beetroot wasn't noticeable in flavour. I feel it added colour to the triangular bun more than anything. The chocolate arancia was equally as unique slicing it in half. This bun had candied orange bits in it. It tasted so good with the chocolate morsels on top and the subtle chocolate flavour in the bun itself. It was delicious. I need to return for more. I have found the buns of my dreams, which sounds odd and funny. It's all true! I paid with a credit card. You can register your phone number to collect points towards goodies. I'll be back. (185)

That level of care really comes through in the cup; you can taste the depth and intentionality in every sip. I ordered the vanilla bean iced latte, and it was easily one of the best espresso bases I've had in a while. The shot itself was rich and layered: deep, chocolatey, and nutty striking a really nice balance between bitterness and acidity. It finished with a smooth, almost creamy note that made the whole drink incredibly enjoyable. The only downside is the size-to-price ratio. At around CAD $8.50 for what felt like a 10 oz drink, it's definitely on the pricier side for something that goes down this easily. Still, I'd absolutely come back when I'm in the mood for a more premium coffee experience. (Funny note - the barista and I had a small rant together about how people order "iced cappuccino" and macchiato expecting Starbucks milk sugary drink instead of the "proper" shot with dollop of foam. I understand their pain hahah)

My cousin and I arrived shortly after opening on New Year's Eve. The cafe has a small interior with minimal seating, mostly bench seating along the wall with small round coffee tables. Even though there was only one barista working that morning, she was efficient at taking orders and making drinks despite several orders happening at once. We did not feel like we were waiting very long. I ordered a pour-over with the Finca El Paraiso Peach Colombian beans, which use a thermal shock washed process. That was something I had not heard of before. The tasting notes listed nectarine, tropical fruit, and caramel, and it was recommended since I was looking for something more out of the ordinary. I enjoyed the wilder flavor profile, but it was hard to fully appreciate because the coffee tasted overly diluted. The barista mentioned she used a 15g to 250g bean-to-water ratio, which is higher than how I normally enjoy my pour-overs. My cousin ordered a flat white with whole milk that was very creamy with strong espresso notes. We also ordered a matcha latte for my other cousin, which was apparently too creamy. Overall, the beans themselves were good, but the pour-over leaned watery for my personal preference. The bag of beans used for the pour-over was priced at $32, which is only a bit more than double the cost of the pour-over itself. In hindsight, I felt slightly ripped off and should have just bought the beans instead.

Determined to have some brunch on mothers day, we found Cafe Bon Bon right around the corner. We were pleasantly surprised to hear upon calling that they would be able to seat us right away! Always happy to get a booth! We got the chicken and waffle - tender, juicy chicken that's perfectly crispy on the outside. These were served with soft warm waffles and a side of syrup. We got a nice flat white. The braised beef breakfast sandwich was so tasty and went great with the Bernaise sauce (like a deconstructed eggs Benny). Would have preferred the mixed greens on the outside of the sandwich as a side salad rather than in the sandwich. It was served with a decent portion of thick cut home fries, bonus they add yams in the mix! Our first time trying a soufflé pancake. Came with 3 on the plate (not pictured as we started eating before I could take a photo lol). The texture takes some getting used to as it's almost too soft (batter-like) but they were perfectly sweet accompanied by a nice thick chocolate sauce and SMALL pieces of fruit (the banana had a nice sweet crunchy sugary glaze). We tried the pork sausage shakshouka, pork jowl eggs benny, and a strawberry matcha latte. The drink was a standout--refreshing, nicely layered, and not overly sweet. The dishes themselves had good flavors and promising concepts. Unfortunately, the experience started off rough. Despite having a reservation, we waited over 30 minutes for a table during the busy Saturday brunch rush, and parking around the plaza was difficult. When the food arrived, the eggs in both the eggs benny and the shakshouka were overcooked, which was disappointing since runny yolks are key to both dishes.
