I stopped in to Vayal's Indian Kitchen to test it out for my lunch group. We support local family owned Mom & Pop restaurants. I was hoping for a win with this one, and I was pleasantly surprised. I was warmly welcomed, and the interior has an easy comfortable feeling. Their lunch menu offers a wide variety of items at a reasonable price. I tried the chicken Tikka Masala Platter, and it was absolutely delicious! I made a reservation for our group on the way out and can't wait to try the next great thing on their menu!

This is a little hole in the wall spot by my work, but don't let that keep you from trying a meal from here. I came here one night for a quick bite to go out of convenience, but the Indian food here tastes like it's made with love in every sense--slow-simmered sauces and carefully layered spices. It's the kind of cooking that wraps around you, warm and comforting. I didn't know that this spot would start my obsession with Indian Cuisine. Staff are attentive and more than happy to answer questions to guide with ordering.

Bollywood on repeat above the bar at an acceptable low volume adds to the character of the welcoming interior.

Friendly service and nice vibe, on the quieter side. Food was fine, will probably come back.

Overall a solid Indian restaurant with many South Indian options. I had a masala dosa and cup of chai. I'll start with the chai... it was good! A bit too milky for my taste, but still a good cup of chai. Keep in mind they make it with sugar, so taste it first before adding any more. Now, the masala dosa. The dosa was HUGE and it came with four chutneys + sambar. I appreciated the portion size. The dosa itself was nice and not too oily... it did taste like it was made fresh, but I wonder if it sat for a few minutes before being brought out to me because it wasn't that piping hot temperature I was hoping for. The coconut chutney was delicious, and the sambar was very good. The other three chutneys were meh. Most disappointingly, the aloo masala was just fine... I was hoping to be wow'd by it.

Have been here 2 times since this location is just 3 miles away from my office in downtown and our experience has been great as of now. I highly recommend this place. I may be trying to go here almost everything when I feel Indian food craving while being in office. Here are my takes: Food/Drinks: The lunch special is great here it lets you choose your choice of curries and comes along as a plate combo including naan. I have tried chicken and lamb curries, both were good tasting. Even the samosa chat was good tasting. We also took mango lassi one time and it was great tasting as well. Service: Quick service and nice welcoming staff. Ambiance: Not a very big establishment but it can accommodate a good amount of guests. It is well decorated inside with an Indian theme. Hygiene: Overall, everything was clean and tidy. Price: Reasonably priced in the area for good Indian food.

    The vegetarian lunch special.

This is a really cute place in a strip mall. Their lunch specials are amazing and the service was very good. I will be back.

The service was attentive, and the ambiance was pleasant, creating a comfortable dining environment. I ordered dishes with a medium spice level, but they were still too spicy for my palate. It's worth noting that Vayal's specializes in South Indian cuisine, known for its bold and spicy flavors, which might be intense for some diners.

Service poor, food below par and no alcohol available. The restaurant was busy and I couldn't understand why as I will never return.

They have parking on both sides of their business: one by the store and the other by the restaurant. There were a few people inside shopping and I picked up my food. I decided to look around the store for a bit, they have a good variety of Indian spices, snacks, cookies and other dry goods. I also bought some veggie samosas for $1.50 each, a good deal. They also had a display case of desserts and pastries. The food I received included rice, chicken tandoori, some curry, and fried bread. The chicken was spicy and tasted good, but some of the rice was undercooked and the curry wasn't great. The samosas were pretty simple but good, and I love the mint chutney and tamarind sauce that come with it. This is a neat place to peruse and pick up some items to cook Indian food. Maybe their lunch buffet is better fresh but I don't think the bag met the anticipated value.

The place is kept ok clean, and restroom is maintained ok as well. The parking lot is shared with other stores. Ordered Chicken Biryani and it was prepared quick and tasted okay for a late evening dinner. I see at least 3 other tables were occupied and some of them were regulars and seem to enjoy the food. The Lady does a good job in getting the orders in and handing food out. The Grocery store is definitely a good one and you will feel little congested in the aisle spacing but got all the items you would expect in an Indian store.

I am still learning about middle eastern cuisine so the chef described some entrees. I told her about a Pakistani dish I really enjoyed and she made me a similar chicken dish that isn't even on the menu! What I love about middle eastern food is that it is so fragrant and a full scale sensory overload. It looks, smells and tastes all at once. Khadija was adorable and very outgoing. I was super impressed by the whole vibe. All of the other patrons were probably far more familiar with the cuisine, but we felt welcome and were so honored that they presented something off the menu for me. I plan to try the regular menu dishes next time. The naan is outstanding, too.

We even joked about trying something new, but of course we ordered our usual again but we recently found out they have a buffet on Sundays, which is really nice if you want to try different dishes or expand your palate! The garlic naan is always a favorite, super savory and hard to stop eating. You can also choose the spice level for the masala. We finally tried the spiciest level, and I would say to be careful with that one. We would recommend medium instead. We are Hispanic and even for us the spiciest level was a little intense on our gastrointestinal system, but we still ate everything. If you want authentic Indian food with great spices, this is the place to go. It is usually pretty empty when we visit, which surprises us because the food is so good. We hope this place gets longer waits and we will definitely be eating here many more times.

Wow! For $17 I got the vegan combo plate and it came with 2 sides -- I opted for the mesir wat (spicy lentils) and gomen (collard greens). The mesir wat and gomen came beautifully wrapped in an injera, with a salad on the top and two very large rolled up injeras. This combo would be more than enough for two people to share. I ordered right as they opened and my order came fairly quickly (~40 mins), so I was really happy with that as well. The mesir wat was seasoned spectacularly! Just enough heat that pairs with the savory flavor. The gomen also was deliciously garlicky, all coming together so harmoniously with the sourness of the injera. I was worried that ordering it for delivery would affect the experience, but everything came nice and warm and it was so great to have this meal at home. I definitely will need to come in next time, with friends for sure, I could not finish this combo on my own.
