I love the Bountiful VCA team! Our Pixie has been under their care for years now and yesterday, the team did not disappoint. Pixie had an incident that scared us and so the team got her right in to check her out before the holidays. Dr Litwin was absolutely amazing with Pixie. She is usually terrified of the Vet but she was so calm with him. I also want to give credit to the Veterinary Assistant, Nicki and to Shana and Allie in the office. Will not be returning. We took out dog in regarding a limp and general lethargy. The vet spent the time berating my wife about the dog's weight and failed to do a proper examination. We then took the dog somewhere else for a second opinion and wonder of wonders got a real examination and blood work. She has a thyroid issue causing the lethargy and the limp was due to inflammation. Save you money and go anywhere else. Not vet should insult their customers and not do their due diligence regarding an animal. read more

Terrible vet, terrible customer service. We took our puppy in for shots and a pre-neuter check. Despite my telling the vet he had gotten into some food he shouldn't have and had diarrhea, the vet STILL did blood tests, then called and told us our puppy had serious liver issues. She put him on an expensive "medication" which my husband searched up and it looks like a supplement.. but which our dog wouldn't take. I called again to see what we should do, the vet said we could try another blood test but she was pretty sure with the major liver issues they couldn't do surgery. The second ($100!) blood test was NORMAL. If the vet had listened to me at the beginning, we would have avoided stress and $$$. I complained to the manager who said she would look into it. Yeah. Never got a call back. Rude vet and poor service. read more

Do not get sucked in to going here with the free visit offer! I had been taking my cat here already, and received a coupon to come in for a free wellness exam. When I arrived I was the only car in the parking lot and there was no one in the lobby. I walked in the door with my cat carrier in my arms. There were 3 gals behind the front desk and not one of them even glanced my way. Finally when I got up to the desk one made eye contact and took me back to a room. When the vet (Barry Litwin) found out my cat did not need vaccinations, he said he needed to take him to the back where there was more light. That was odd, I have never been told there was not enough light in their own exam rooms before. He took my cat to the back and returned saying 3 fleas had just jumped on him and he was going to get me a flea medication prescription right away. Just so happens, the medication is something you would do every month, not just a one and done. ($$$!!) I have lived in states that have fleas before, and I know what it is like when your animal does get them. If 3 fleas have jumped on you there are hundreds more on the animal!! Feel free to google if Utah has fleas and you will find it is very rare as our climate does not support them. Any cases we have here are because an animal came from another state or visited another state. My cat is a stay home native. The [AMAZING] vet tech, April, began searching my cat with me for fleas. None to be found. I told her I would be happy to get flea medication if my cat had fleas, however, I needed to see at least ONE flea. She relayed that to the vet, and I could hear his disdain from the back. He gave her a special flea comb and again we began the process of searching his skin and hair for any sign of fleas. We did this for several minutes and nothing!!! When he came back in and was told by the tech we could not find any fleas, he repeatedly said he had killed one in the back. (Perhaps the back of the clinic has fleas....watch out!!! However my cat does not. At least he didn't before he entered their back room. Time will tell on that one. I asked him what was going on stating I have never had a vet need to take my pet to the back for a wellness exam due to low lighting (there is a huge light like the one in a dentist office, in addition to the regular lighting in the exam room). He said he would do "a quick" exam, but told [the AWESOME] tech, to not let my cat touch her clothes. He did a short exam, which was all I was expecting, and the [INCREDIBLE] vet tech, April took notes. Barry did not discuss any of the results of this quick check up with me at all. I am so thankful for the fabulous April, as she answered my few questions about the results of this checkup. She gave me a quote for a dental appointment and went over that with me in detail. When I returned to the lobby (still the only one there) April told the gal behind the computer she didn't have the code for the free visit. The older looking gal just gruffly said to me "I need to see the email!" Customer service training is needed for the front desk ladies who were working today. Except for April, the experience was unbelievable! I RARELY, if ever, write a negative review, but this was so unprofessional, and terrible! Have you ever been to a high pressure sales place like for a car or time share and the people turn from nice to mean because you don't want to buy what they want you to buy? That was Barry today! I am just speechless. If you don't want to do a free exam, no strings attached, please don't offer one. This clinic's prices are very high (you can have a caring vet come to your own home and provide euthanasia for less money than going here.) I am sorry to the other vets in this office that may actually care for the animals and their owners. Barry's behavior today was unacceptable and inexcusable. I am thankful, and amazed that he actually did do an exam, for that I am grateful. April Thank YOU for being the person, who truly cared for me and my pet today! Five stars for YOU!!!!!! I don't even know where to begin with this place! I've taken my dog here for the last 10 years for his shots with no problems. 2-3 years ago he started peeing everywhere and we had to put him in diapers. He was also excessively thirsty. I took him in to be examined and the vet we saw did (expensive) bloodwork and told me just to give him sugar free, clear Power Aid because he needed electrolytes and was just dehydrated. I thought he was joking at first. I tried it for a few weeks and it did nothing. The bloodwork also came back fine. I took him in again the next year for his shots and mentioned that we were still having the same issues and I mentioned that the last doctor recommended Power Aid. They were extremely embarrassed by that and wondered which vet recommended It (I wish I could remember his name). They did more expensive bloodwork which didn't show anything and sent me on my way. Finally this year the same thing happened. I took my dog in for another issue and mentioned the excessive peeing. Again, they wanted to do bloodwork to see if they could tell what was going on so I paid for it, hoping for them to find something since that isn't normal. I got the same call saying his bloodwork was normal, just like every other time. I asked to talk to someone about the results because this isn't normal!! I wanted someone to tell me something else that could be the cause and not just say everything is fine! They transferred me to a lab technician and when I explained the issue, he suggested I try the drug Proin for his incontinent issues. I'm not sure why this wasn't even mentioned as a possibility in years past. Finally someone was helpful! They gave me a prescription for 30 days to try it and see if it helped. It worked wonders! My dog was much more comfortable and it was sure nice for me not having to change his diaper every hour! I called after the 30 days to get a refill only to be told that they needed my dog to come in for an ultrasound to check and see if it was doing any damage to his body. I was not happy about that because I feel like they tell you that you need to do bloodwork, or something else expensive, only to be told everything is fine, which has happened so many times in the past. I decided to call around and see if I could find someone else to prescribe the Proin for my dog without needing an ultrasound. I called Wilson Veterinary Hospital and spoke with someone about the issue. Wow! In three minutes she was able to tell me more about what was probably going on with my dog than I ever got with years of going to Lakeview (and she isn't even a vet). She said it was probably a kidney or bladder stone. No one ever mentioned that possibility before! So, I made an appointment and took my dog over there. They took x-rays and sure enough, he has a large kidney stone! He has been living with that for several years now and no one ever bothered to mention that as a possibility! The vet at Wilson even said that they have no idea why they would have needed an ultrasound to prescribe Proin, and wondered why Lakeview only wanted to do bloodwork and never mentioned doing x-rays on my dog. It sounds like the people at Lakeview have no clue how to treat animals other than doing bloodwork, so I will never go back there again. I will save my time and money and take it to a clinic that actually knows what's going on!! read more

The doctors are fine but good luck seeing one. Two examples: 1) they had been seeing my puppy every other week for frequent UTIs and when I was out of town (before they even knew I was out of town) they told me I need to find someone elE because they can't get me in for 4 days. I went to the out of town clinic, they got me on night of , brand new patient, and treated me for 1/6 the cost. Even though they had been actively seeing my dog. 2) my Labrador always swims his tail out because he gets so exited so they once gave me some dog painkiller for a while, once it was out they told me it would be 5 days until they could see him even though he was having accidents on the couch due to his sore tail and paws and has been a regular patient of theirs. VCA DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMAL. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT YOUR MONEY THEY'LL GET YOU IN A WEEK FROM YOU'RE NEEDS REGARDLESS OF ANY OTHER CIRCUMSTANCE. It doesn't matter if you're a current, active, patient, that will screw you. Find another vet. They couldn't just give me a doggy pain reliever for this even though that's all they did to treat it in the past? They needed the additional $70 exam visit too even though he's been a patient there for years? read more

Omg! If you have a cat, do not take him/her to this place! My cat was so upset just being there as he had an abscess on his back. To make matters worse, you're in the waiting room with dogs, it echos, staff is extremely loud, it all just started off wrong. This was the first time my cat had to go to a vet besides neutering and vaccines. When we got to the exam room, they didn't weigh him as he was stressed, but there was so much going on outside of the room, ie doors slamming, dogs barking etc., he didn't ever calm down. When the vet came in with the nurse, they didn't unzip the door to the carrier, they unzipped the top and dumped him out on the floor...even though I pointed out the door zipper. My cat was growling and hissing. The vet felt the oozing bump, said he's have to drain it and give him an antibiotic shot. Due to it already draining and my cat obviously stressed, I asked if we could just do antibiotics so we could get out of there. He then had my cat get on the exam table so that I can hold him while he listens to his heart, (completely unnecessary at this point) while the nurse is in the background making more loud noises. Reluctantly, I did as told and as soon as he reached around, bam, my cat fully attacks my face nearly missing my eyeball! I was clearly in shock and crying. The vet proceeds to tell me that if that happens again to just let go of the cat...I didn't even know I was still trying to hold him while he's ripping off my face! I had to go to instacare, get an antibiotic shot, a tetanus shot and go back tomorrow for another antibiotic shot and will be on antibiotics for 10 days. The vet made sure I wasn't charged for that amazing exam and charged $60 for the oral antibiotics. I now know why they were the only vet who had openings to see him the day after I called. Every other vet, including my own were booked at least a week out. Never ever going back! I really, really wish I never went there. read more

I have been taking my dog(s) here for the last 7-8 years and I used to love the service we received. Over the past year or so, their customer service has really gone down hill. I really like Dr. Hara but was disappointed when I had called to ask a follow up question about an issue that my dog had just seen her for, and was told I needed to make an appointment. I went in again anyway. (This was during the beginning of covid quarantine, I had to come in numerous times during this period.) I called today to ask about changing my puppy's food and asked which food they would recommend. They would not give me a recommendation and wanted me to come in again. We had just paid over $300 for unnecessary bloodwork and they want me to get bloodwork done again. I have had to visit the emergency vet 2 times in the past few months because they couldn't get my dog in during business hours. I called to get an estimate to get my puppy neutered and they quoted me $300 to $500! How ridiculous!!! Now they are requiring bloodwork for a puppy before they can be neutered, well, good luck with that! Not a good idea if you care about pets like you say. I went to Bayview hospital in Farmington and was able to get my 9 year old dog's teeth cleaned with bloodwork for $450.This place is a joke! read more

We took our miniature male poodle on 10/19/21 into the Lakeview, Bountiful, Utah hospital; we were subjected to the worst veterinarian ever. He didn't reveal his name, all we can get is he was "Dr. Al" & "Dr Relief, DVM." He told us that our dog was too fat, he weighed in at 22 pounds and his breathing problems were related to this. He was short, rude, and unprofessional. His demeanor and arrogant superiority was evident as our adorable pooch refused to allow him to come near him. We have taken our rescue dog to several veterinarians the past three years and he has never reacted so negatively towards any person. These people were nice, but this so called doctor spoiled all their efforts. Our technician and office manager were most kind, but they appeared to be bullied by this awful human being that poses as a doctor. The least they could do is get rid of this ineffectual man immediately; the best they could do is refund us in full. Warning: do not ever take your furry family member to this place unless you can get a different veterinarian. read more

We've been bringing our dogs here for over 30 years now and we can't say enough of how much love and care they have shown us and more importantly our pets over the years. We finally had to put our last dog down and we were shown so much love and sympathy during a very difficult time. I can't imagine doing this for a living and seeing this on a daily basis. I have nothing but respect for the Vets, Technicians and the rest of the staff at VCA Lakeview Animal Hospital. When the time is right and we get another dog, Lakeview will be one of our first places we visit to introduce a new member of our family. read more

I have a German Shepherd puppy that is 1.5 years old and I have been taking her to the VCA Bountiful clinic since I first got her as a puppy. I love the Bounitful VCA! I recently moved out of Bountiful and further north, but I decided to stick with this crew because they have been so good with Andi and Andi has really taken to several staff members there (receptionists, techs, and vets). Andi is large and can look/sound intimidating just by the nature of her breed alone, but the staff have always been good with her. There was one bump in the road during a time when some of the vets were on maternity leave and I ran into issues with a temp vet that was filling in (one of the temps was awesome, the other was not), and the receptionists worked with me and handled my concerns professionally. I was really impressed with how the technicians handled this time as well, and felt like one in particular went the extra mile to make sure sure my dog's needs were addressed during this time. It's great seeing the staff happily greet your dog and watching your dog giving a happy butt swing in return. The temp vet I mentioned above is no longer there and I am happy we have our good vets back. I haven't had any concerns since about which vet at the clinic sees Andi and we've had great service and care from everyone since. In personal experience, I've heard the VCA can be a little more pricey than other places, but compared to what I've experienced they are worth it. I've never had any issues with them hiding the cost, but if you have concerns just make sure you speak with them about the cost of service before hand - they are always willing to provide information. During puppy-hood your puppy does require an exam in order to receive his/her vaccines, but after six months you just have your yearly exams and then they can do quick vaccine visits without an official exam (or at least that was my experience). I liked the exam requirement personally. It allowed Andi to become familiar with the vet office and the staff while she was still a puppy. The staff is always open and willing to communicate. I have no concerns that they will do their best in taking care of my dog. My cousin has also gone to the VCA in bountiful and has loved their staff as well. Awesome staff, awesome place. I have recommended them to family/friends. read more

Just took my dog in for a teeth cleaning which I have done at this office before. I went to drop coco off and was told I needed to have lab work done for an additional $86, because coco is nine. I wasn't willing to pay there up charge they should have told me that when I made appointment quoted at $250. Who knows what the charge would have been if I left her without asking questions. They wouldn't even do vaccinations without an exam. When Dr Clark was there it wasn't an up charge facility. I think since this is now part of vca clinics they are more corporate money oriented than about welfare of animals. After many years of taking my dogs here I will be looking elsewhere. These despicable people tortured my tiny, 4 lb. dog. When my beloved dog had a medical emergency I took him to them with a purple/black abscess on his bottom. The secretary blathered on about being one Vet short. One of the vet techs refused to take a look...he didn't want to take responsibility!! Pizzolli refused to even look at my dog who had been cared for by these people for SIXTEEN YEARS. They turned my sick and suffering dog away. In the 7 minutes it took me to drive to a vet with compassion his anal gland ruptured. The pain must have been extreme. Shame on you! You refused to care for an animal in pain. You are disgusting. I would never trust an animal I love to these monsters. read more

The very first time we took our dog Diesel into Dr. Jason Pozzuoli, we knew immediately we would never see another vet or DVM again. His, and his staff's compassion for Diesel, his knowledge & expertise in the veterinarian field absolutely astonished me and my wife beyond belief. Unfortunately, over the course of Diesels next year after meeting Dr. Pozzuoli, his health has severely declined. Diesel had his first Grand Mal seizure on January 29th 2017. Since then, he has had 10 more, everyone was becoming more frequent and more severe than the last, to the point of 2 in one day. They have now become manageable, only by the assistance of Dr. Pozzuoli. Dr. Pozzuoli was able to provide us with his knowledge and resources he has to perform every blood test in the books, an MRI, pre-and post-bile acid tests, a full tick panel, heartworm tests, MDR1 gene testing and a CFS tap to rule out anything possible. We wouldn't have even known any of this available or possible if it were not for Jason. Dr. Pozzuoli's expertise, knowledge and resources he has available made the most astronomical impact you could not even imagine. This has now been able to get Diesel to manageable state to control his now known condition of idiopathic epilepsy. We once reached a point in time where Diesels seizures and quality of life was declining so severely that we contemplated putting him down. If it were not for Jason I can assure you, Diesel would not be here with my Wife and I today. And for that, I am sincerely forever grateful for Jason. I cannot even begin to explain or measure the amount of countless after-hours calls, emails, texts and research Dr. Pozzuoli has performed to do everything possible to do everything he possibly could for Diesel's health and quality of life. Dr. Pozzuoli has been the best thing that has ever happened to Diesel. He truly has been one of the most caring, knowledgeable, devoted human beings myself or my wife has ever met. I feel more than comfortable with Diesels future, health and quality of life knowing I have someone like Dr. Pozzuoli as his care taker. read more
