I'm so very much appreciative because this vet actually cares about the animals. I can't express my gratitude for that getting him in so he can start to feel better. I love this vet. Parrish Creek Veterinary Hospital killed my son's perfectly healthy bird during what was supposed to be a routine blood draw. There was no accountability, no apology, and shockingly, they asked my son to pay immediately after his bird died. When they brought his bird back to us, she went into cardiac arrest right in front of my son. This was later determined to be caused by severe blood loss, which led to anemia and cardiac failure. She passed away in front of him. Afterward, she had large bruising at the puncture site and blood in the back of her throat, which, for reasons never explained to us, did not seem to concern the staff at the time. We escalated this to their insurance company, which denied responsibility for reasons that make absolutely no sense. Parrish Creek has insurance specifically for situations like this, yet they refused accountability. We will be attaching all documentation, including: Parrish Creek's medical report An independent necropsy report The insurance denial letter An avian specialist who was present during the necropsy has provided a written statement confirming that Blue bled to death. She had no clotting disorders, and the amount of blood lost--between the blood draw and internal bleeding--exceeded her body weight. The clinic later claimed they verbally explained the risks of the blood draw to my son and his father. This is not true. Both state clearly that no risks were discussed. No consent forms were signed. No paperwork was provided. Nothing. My son specifically chose this clinic because their website states they are the only animal hospital with an avian specialist, and he traveled from Salt Lake City to receive the best possible care. This was not his first bird--his previous bird passed from a medical condition and had undergone multiple blood draws without issue, despite being smaller. We understand that accidents can happen in veterinary medicine. What is unacceptable is the complete lack of accountability, compassion, or effort to make this right, especially considering the trauma experienced by my minor son, who lost his best friend. I did not want to post this publicly, but after repeated denial and dismissal, I feel I have no choice. All we are asking is for Parrish Creek Veterinary Hospital to do the right thing.

It sometimes takes up to two weeks for an appointment and the formerly friendly staff are too busy to care. In the past they would try hard to squeeze me in within a day or two for more serious issues, but that is no more, loyalty be damned. We went to pick up our two dogs from boarding recently at 9:00 am. My dogs hadn't been let out to pee or poop and hadn't been fed....at 9:00 am! They peed all over the floor as soon as they came out of the run. They said that the employee who does that hadn't showed up yet but there were three girls at the front desk on their darned cell phones. I haven't quit them yet due to loyalty to Doc Martin and Doc Blount but getting damned close.

Just call a mobile vet. Check on Reddit for similar reviews, etc. Last time we called lap of love through a family recommendation it was perfect. This time, not so much. We called to see what their schedule was like etc. when we scheduled it was $860! Last time, for way better care, concern, and service it was $485. Okay okay, we did ask for paw prints etc. we did just let a pet go down the street, we didn't want to put the cat in the car, cats hate cars. So it was a weird surprise when we were told we had to contact the cremators for that and it was an additional $150. So over $ 1000 to put a cat to sleep. We really should have just drove him down the street. Last time everything was taken care of and it didn't cost anything close, including the ceramic paw prints. This is not a premium service and is charging very premium prices. But down the street, after hours at midnight on a Sunday, that was $730, +$80 for ER services, and ceramic paw prints, and they gave us nose and paw prints, and fur clippings. Group cremation for both and they both used the same crematory for ceramic prints, etc. I have recommended for years and I will no longer do so. So misleading. Find a mobile vet directly.
