I've been a member of VCF since 2009. I've seen and stayed through many changes in valley's landscape. It's a great box, it's always been a great box, and with the direction it's going, it will be even greater. The coaches know their stuff and their first priority is to keep you healthy and strong, not push you passed your limits just for another PR. No one is perfect, but the new Valley CrossFit lives up to its legacy. read more

The owner was extremely rude. He interrupted me while I was trying to listen to one of the trainers to try to fill out the form. When I asked if I could wait until the trainer was done talking. He ordered my fiance and I to leave. When my fiance asked to return our money he called him an ass**** and refused to return our money. I wish someone would have told me earlier what an awful company this was run by such a loser. read more

I don't know how anyone on here can say people here are friendly, even if you like the actual gym. I would be irate if I wasn't there on a Groupon and had actually paid full price to be treated like crap. It's still annoying that I payed anything for it. As stated in a bunch of the other reviews, Mike is a giant d-bag. I am NOT new to Crossfit, and I'm not confused about it. But if you are barely going to explain anything, it's still going to be a problem. The icing on the cake of just everyone being rude in general was my entire class getting a lecture for not cheering on one of the guys while he bench pressed his body weight. Apparently after getting ragged on for an hour (or a week or a month), you should feel obligated to be someone's cheerleader. This place is ridiculous. read more

I really wanted to stay with this gym because the coaches are awesome... But I decided I cannot give my money to a gym that doesn't care about its customers. I was charged twice by the gym both for amounts I never agreed to and at times I never agreed to. I tried to sort it out with the Eddie and he told me that Nick the owner was the only one to deal with membership charges. He sent my email to Nick and I also facebooked Nick with my concerns and I never received any reply back. I told them I would dispute the charges with my bank which I did. My bank called the gym and they were told to call back. All I wanted to do was get charged the right amount and continue with the gym but they obviously dont want my business. I enjoyed my time at the gym but would rather go to a gym where you can get a hold of the owner when you have concerns and not be ignored. read more

Not impressed with the new Valley Crossfit after the sale of the business. I understand that change is difficult. I will come back in a year and see if the problems get ironed out. Will update review. read more

The first time I ever tried or heard of CrossFit was at Valley Crossfit and in retrospect I feel very lucky to have stumbled on it. I was going to your typical gym doing 2 muscles a night and some cardio BORED OUT OF MY MIND and hating it. I tell people that Valley Crossfit saved my fitness life. Aside from the fact that VCF is huge, has more top in the world ranked athletes then you can shake a shake weight at , and tons of state of the art equipment the real deal breaker for me is the people. I have never seen so many people giving a @#$% about someone else - A lot of the time someone they just met - it pushes you and more importantly I honestly think you become a much better person. The community here is amazing and definitely what keeps me coming back. CrossFit is hard work, but for every drop of sweat you get it back tenfold in my opinion. In all honesty the work just feels like fun at VCF because the coaches and the members are cheering each other on with all their hearts. read more

I dropped in from New Jersey in november. The space is amazing, plenty of equipment, efficient coaching, awesome programming. I was in a morning class with about 20 athletes, and i felt that the coach gave enough attention to all: correcting when needed, giving tips, and encouraging. Valley Crossfit is not just a gym or a place to work out, it is a whole amazing community. Put it this way, the first and probably the only box I'll ever be training in. VCF has some of the most knowledgable fitness coaches I have ever met. And not to mention some of the most inspiring athletes! The coaches never stop learning. If there is something new and useful out there in the fitness world, they will know about it before anyone else. Wether u r into strength, agility, stamina or all of it, if u have the motivation VCF will help you attain your goals. No matter what your skill level is, everyone will support and help you get through the ever changing workouts. If there are certain exercises your cannot do just yet, the coach will always give u a modified version from which you will be expected to do the full version of the exercise at some point. I have been a member of this gym for almost a year, I have been challenged every day I walk through their doors. The trainers have never "phoned" in a workout every day these athlete coaches do their best to make sure I improve. I have learned to respect all of them for their knowledge and focus. I am a work out junkie. I went to globo gyms for about 12 years. That got boring, I tried bootcamps, Krav Maga, martial arts, I run marathons, do obstacle courses. You get it, I'm all in. I stumble upon Valleycrossfit and did some research on them. I couldn't believe how incredible their athletes were. I wanted in! And they welcomed me with open arms! After a few months I feel stronger, leaner and faster! I PR on my last marathon by 40 mins. At Valleycrossfit you are being trained by some of the best crossfit athletes in the world. I have gone to a few boxes now, and I truly fell in Love with Valley Crossfit! I have had some great experiences with improving my crossfit skills!! All thanks to the help of all the coaches! I especially have become fond of some of the coach's Nick, Mark, Kris, and DJ! They truly have gone out of there way to help me to improve my skills in the crossfit world. In addition I have met some very nice members so far! I look forward to continuing my crossfit path here at Valley Crossfit! I truly feel that whomever has never tried crossfit to those whom have a little more experience come try out VALLEY CROSSFIT!!! I have only been doing crossfit since like the last day of July, but I have a more athletic background, and with this being said I desire to be coached by coaches that can coach, and whom know there skills, and I must say these gals/ and gent coaches know how to coach and know the skills!!!! read more

I have not written many reviews, but this one is important enough to stop everything and write. I want to thank Valley Crossfit for being such wonderful hosts to my friends and I as visiting CrossFitters. We had never met anyone at this particular CrossFit, and they embodied the CrossFit spirit and treated us just like family. This box was huge and filled with tons of every type of equipment. It's definitely the biggest CrossFit box we have ever seen. Amazing athletes were everywhere but everyone was very down to earth. Very friendly staff and Valley CrossFit everything that CrossFit is about. Wish we lived closer so we could visit more often but we will always be grateful to you for the outstanding service. Thanks for being role models to us. You made a lasting impression. read more

I've been doing CF for over 7 years and have dropped into over 30 boxes and I'm also a coach. A few notes: huge place, over 15,000 sq ft which actually works bc there are a few different things going on at once. (Oly, CrossFit, fundamentals) I got coached by Kristan Clever and she was good. No one introduced themselves to me but I imagine they get a ton of drop ins and it's hard to distinguish members from visitors. Once I introduced myself though, everyone was friendly. Class warm up, instruction and WOD were good and Kris talked socially afterwards. 6pm class had about 30 people in it but our 7pm class had only 6 so your mileage will vary as a member. Since they have so many visitors they enforce the $25 drop in fee unlike many other boxes I've been to which waive it or let me buy a shirt instead. Overall good experience. read more

Starting crossfit as an over 50 woman was daunting, but Valley Crossfit is full of motivating, inspiring, kind coaches, staff, and members. I have been going strong now for over 6 months and my improvement is slow and steady, but the endless support and encouragement of this crossfit gym is loud and proud. This is not a review of the facility because I never got to try it out. I signed up for a 6 week Crossfit Challenge at this establishment. I live in Hollywood, but the facility offering the challenge near me had started already, so I didn't mind driving to Van Nuys if I knew I would get results. After I signed up I picked a date & time to speak with Nick. An hour before my appointment I got a reminder text. When I got there for my appointment at 11:45, I was told Nick had an emergency at home & would be there at 12p. After I'm there for about 5 minutes I'm told he'd be there at 1p. I had other plans so I was unable to wait. I totally understand that things happen, but why couldn't I get a call or text asking to change my appointment? I drove 20 minutes for nothing. The worst part is, that was almost a week ago & Nick has not called me to apologize or reschedule. I also sent an email & received no response. I guess I win because Crossfit is not cheap, so I'd rather find a facility where I'm wanted & my time is appreciated. read more

I am SO THANKFUL I found this gym and have the opportunity to work with such amazing trainers and team members. Valley Crossfit Reseda is a one of a kind experience that truly helps build better athletes, and better people. I have learned so many new exercises and it has really elevated my entire outlook on exercise and the physiology behind it. I come here to work hard, to learn, and to become the best version of myself I can be, and they supply the tools and knowledge necessary to succeed. With phenomenal training from Bryce I have seen significant changes in my strength, endurance, knowledge, and overall I can feel myself becoming a better athlete. They also have an amazing staff and facility. I am a beginner to Crossfit and yet I always feel challenged but not completely overwhelmed. I am able to have one on one help with form and many exercises that have helped my posture, flexibility, and again strength. Also, they have a huge sense of community and I have been welcomed with open arms by all other athletes and other staff members. Many of the athletes who train here are competing in Crossfit games as well. Great staff, facility, training, and community. Overall I HIGHLY recommend this gym to everyone! read more

I've been going to VCF for about 3 months now and could not be happier! When I started, I walked in terrified but also determined to make it through at least one class. (Trying Crossfit was on my 2012 New Year Resolutions list) Mike was INCREDIBLY supportive and I"ve never had so much fun working out. I became addicted right away. I now go 3-4 times a week at 5:30am - the only exercise I've been willing (and excited) to wake up at 4:30am for! I constantly strive to get stronger and faster. All the coaches I've had the pleasure of training under have been very nice, understanding, and good at pushing me to where my actual strength and endurance levels are. No one ever makes me feel embarassed about having to scale down my weight; I just focus on correct form, pushing myself and getting better for the next class. I don't think I will ever find a better, more enjoyable workout with better, more enjoyable and encouraging people. VCF ROCKS!!!!! read more

we all know that to write a review takes time, and sometimes we are just all too lazy to leave one, so finally Im doing one. I joined Valley Crossfit 2009, and I am still a member.. so it only tells you one thing, they must have been doing something good for me to stick with them. I live 3mins away from another crossfit box and yet I decide to go to VCF. VCF is more of a family than a community, My fiancee and relatives have joined also and now they understand why I am hooked with working out. I can write a full page review here but if you are basing your decisions on past reviews, I suggest that you stop it, turn off your computer, get up and go check it for yourself. You can read or hear all things about valley crossfit but let yourself to be the judge.. so go now and try our 16,000 sq ft playground. (just a reminder, your mom is not here to baby sit you, or to hand you your bottled water when you are tired, just leave your ego at the parking lot and you will be fine, dont worry, no one will steal it)..so if you want to be (cross) fit, visit now !.....( "but there is a crossfit box across my house," so go for it, check it out, then take time to visit us also and see which one works for you...there is a free trial so all you need to invest is your TIME... read more
